Best Tex mex in DC. I said what I said. Guapos varies by location, but since there is a lot of competition for restaurants in Georgetown they stepped UP. You're at guapos not a taqueria. Get the fajitas (steak is the best) and you won't be sorry. Also, the queso is famous and the margs are wonderful. Don't have more than two margs or you will be hungover. It's a party in there. It's loud and they sing happy birthday every 20 minutes but the staff is lovely and you won't be sorry you stopped by

Perfect Saturday meet up with Friends. Just outside is also the ice skating rink to enjoy during the winter. Elkin was our waiter that expressed his approval of our meal choices which made us look even more forward to its arrival. Our table was split of seafood chimichanga, shredded beef chimichanga, asada tacos, fish tacos and Camarillo tacos. All very good. The camarillo was a bit sweet though. The frozen strawberry marg was delicious. The spicy jalapeño was good but not spicy enough even when asking for it to come spicier for round 2. The passionfruit marg was pulpy but good. The chips came with a pico type salsa and a smoky salsa which both were really good. The chips was thin and airy which were so good. The restraunt was clean and had cute decor all around. Highly reccomend.

I love Guapo's! It's not that the food is SPECTACULAR but it's pretty good and consistent across locations - for me, anyway. I always get the enchiladas or the three-item combo. Their enchiladas verdes are good but the sauce defffff isn't as tomatillo-ey as I like. Needs more of a flavor pop.I love the two salsa options they serve for free. One is served warm and is more roasted. The other is cold and like a runny pico de gallo.Tried the cajeta this time. SO MF GOOD. Enjoy.

Our party of 5 had a fantastic experience at Guapo's of Georgetown in December. Service was fast and attentive. The food was fresh and generously portioned. The location was excellent, just next to the ice rink with a festive vibe and ample seating indoors as well as a large outdoor space for warmer months. We enjoyed a variety of dishes, including the Guacamole with Chips, CevicheFish Tacos, Chicken Fajitas, Chidken Enchiladas, and Steak Fajitas. The atmosphere is outstandingly festive which made for a great meal with good Tex-Mex food and fantastic margaritas of course.

Tacos Tuesday happy hour deal is so great. I get three vegetarian tacos for under $10! The service is great and are always very kind. The ambiance is okay - the music can be a little loud at times but otherwise, great space!

The allure of this Guapo's is mostly because of the vibe - it's right next to the "iconic" Georgetown water fountain/ice skating rink. I say iconic for Georgetown, maybe not for DC - but still - it's nice and is situated nearby the waterfront mini-boardwalk.That said, food is good - tortilla chips were thin and crispy, the accompanying salsas were tasty (and thankfully one of them is not too spicy and tastes fresh). Fajitas were tasty even if they're not the best I've had - I would still have them again. The steak fajitas were notably better than the chicken fajitas.Service was attentive. All-in-all, with the vibe, it made for a good dining experience.

Guapo's is my favorite place to eat when I'm walking by the water front in Georgetown. They almost always seat me right away and the staff is really nice. The atmosphere is kind of loud and busy so I personally wouldn't come here if I wanted an intimate setting. I enjoy the food! It's a good portion size and has great flavor. My friend really likes the tortillas and so think the streak in the burrito is really delicious.

Was able to dine here one of the recent warmer days. I enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. They turned on the heaters as it got a little chilly. The complimentary chips and salsas were delicious. The chips were thin and crispy. The two salsas were excellent. One had large chunks of tomato and not spicy at all. The darker one was very smoky and had a nice depth of flavor. That was my favorite. I ordered the three taco platter. You can mix and match which I liked. I tried a pollo, Al pastor and a lengua. All three meat preparations were different so I couldn't choose a favorite. The pollo had the most meat. It was juicy. The Al Pastor was a little too greasy but it had tiny pieces of pineapple which added a nice sweetness to the heavy pork. The lengua was cooked perfectly but not as much meat as the others on the taco. All three tacos were served on corn tortillas, fresh cilantro and onion. Lime wedges and pickled onions were also included. The platter also came with rice and refried beans. The beans were very creamy. I'm not a huge rice fan to begin with so it didn't really stand out to me. There were veggies in it - carrots, corn and green beans I think. The tacos also came with a side of hot sauce. I dipped my fork in and my mouth was on fire. I skipped that lol

We accidentally discovered this restaurant while walking in Georgetown. They also offer brunch menu but we decided to browse their lunch menu. Their chips were made to order, their salsa is really good. My husband tried their margaritas he said it was very delicious.I decided to try their birria, it is heavenly! It melts in your mouth! Another highly recommended are their calamari and ceviche. It was very delicious there's no other way to describe it. Service was fast too I think we got in just before the lunch rush hour started. I would say if you are in Georgetown, give this restaurant a try and you won't be disappointed.

Giving 4 stars but 3.5 is more accurate. Hot chips and 2 types of salsa brought right away and delicious. Water served at room temperature from a pitcher on the table. Ice in glasses would have been great. Margaritas were very good and cold. Then took a little while until waitress came back for food order. Ordered ceviche and was ok. Did not come with lime which was odd. Also looked like something was missing on plate with open space and had to ask for chips to go with it. All of our dinners were tasty. Refried beans also served at room temperature which was not preferred. Took a long time to get check too. Servers were friendly and location very nice. Simple little fixes would have made it more enjoyable.
