Fair warning, the five stars reflects the totality of the Greenhouse experience as an experience. I drove to Tysons Corner and somehow found myself in a restaurant in Bălți, the former Soviet city, surrounded by characters straight out of a Borat movie. The experience is worth the visit. I'm almost speechless. Everything lights up neon green--the ceiling, the underside of banquettes, amazing. At night it becomes a disco--but a SNL "wild and crazy" Czech guys sort of disco. The food was just ok fyi.

Okay environment, solid parking, "meh" customer service, subpar food (except the French fries, those were great)

The atmosphere is good and switches to a club vibe late night. They have different types of live music different days. The service on Saturday night is only s good as your waitress. I've been here a couple of times and I wonder if the included 20% gratuity is what makes some waiters less attentive. Wayer wasn't provided until we were two alcoholic drinks in. Our party had to wait 5-10 minutes for utensils, 3 separate times and two of us had to leave and get other waitets to assist and grab silverware from other tables. When ordering ribeye steak, you don't want it getting cold. The same occurred when we received dessert without utensils. Throughput the night we had to get othetvwaiters to assist or grab our waitress. Nobody wants negligent service but when spending $500 on dinner you definitely look at what your tip contributed to. The food was pretty good in general but the rockfish was sold out. I assume it's popular so go early for that dish. Ribeye was tender and a decent quality paired with flavorful potatoes and well sesred asparagus. The drinks were pretty good with the passion fruit and pomegranate martinis being faves, sweet with a kick. After 10pm in the summer the prices have increased to $100 pp to sit in the lounge and $50 pp to sit and dine outside. The lounge is a club atmosphere with a good DJ. The main restaurant area ends up open space with a live band, typically the salsa dancers and people looking for something more relaxed are in that area.

Stopped in on Father's Day to get a couple of drinks and enjoy a nice cigar. Hammed the GM provides exceptional hands-on service, personable, and worked to ensure our needs were met. WE arrived and asked for the cigar lounge area. He provided a place on the outside patio. However, it was not a dedicated cigar area. It was a smoking area - we explained that when we did a cigar lounge search (search near me), the Greenhouse name came up. Hameed indicated he would work with his organization to address this. This issue was quickly - as Hameed found us a nice spot on the outside patio. The outside was very comfortable, and the weather was accommodating. There is plenty of parking with numerous spots directly in front for Handicap. We did not come for food ... just drinks, so we can not speak to the menu and / or food.

Me and my husband stopped in for drinks after we had dinner. The restaurant was not crowded music was playing it seemed like a chill place to stop and have a drink and for my husband to smoke a cigar. I ordered a French 75 but the waitress recommended a Lavandar French 75. I took her up on her recommendation, the drink was really good I could definitely taste the lavendar and the gin. The presentation could have been better, maybe add a lavendar flower or a slice of lemon (I am big on presentation). My husband ordered an Old Fashion made with Woodford Reserve Bourbon he said he enjoyed the drink and would order again. If I am in the area I will definately return for drinks and to try the food!

An interesting location and space, given the abundance of 1970s - 80s office buildings in the area. Not the locality or venue you would expect for a dance club, but where there's a will, there's a way.But is it the right way? That's a good question; and one that is not readily disambiguated at first glance. While the ambiance, service, and drinks are all decent, the prices remind you why you have to drink before going out. But if you drink too much, you might feel a little out of place here; among a bevy of older clientele as they attempt to celebrate fleeting & elusive feelings of youth, while nonetheless being coated in wrinkles and unironic 80s fashion accoutrements. Cue Seinfeld: "Not that there's anything wrong with that."If you're looking for a venue that is high energy, youthful, or ideal for scoping trysts, this place might not be keen. If you're from out of town, need a break, or with some friends, and have no expectations, however, this is a beautiful venue that has a slight upscale ambiance with decent music (it varies from EDM and techno to pop and Latin dance). Unfortunately, it is in the middle of nowhere; so if you imbibe a little too much, you're stuck in between a rock and a hard place. Plan and consume wisely, accordingly. Recommendation to the establishment: have all-you-can-drink packages or lower the prices of stiff drinks. Beautiful, extravagant drinks are great, but they provide for an upscale time and not necessarily a fun time. The two do not have to be mutually exclusive nor at odds. Likewise, rotating DJs and music themes would better optimize the ambiance: lowering volume at times to permit for talking, as it is NOT a full, dedicated nightclub, may be ideal; followed by bouts, nights, or interludes of full-on dance-y mood setting.Even though I do not go out often, I have a suspicion the only person who will ever truly bring down the house in the not-so-mean streets of Tysons and McLean is yours truly. While the party invariably follows wherever I go, it would be great if establishments may better impart that unto their clientele.

Fantastic dinner amid two rooms of much greater sophistication than the clubs you went to in college or as a teenager. This is a smart, mostly accomplished D.C. crowd. One room moved to a South American rhythm, the other techno. My spicy rigatoni pasta was fantastic. I also ordered Margherita pizza with pepperoni which was hands-down amazing and could hold its own against the best Italian restaurants. Truly. Staff is appropriately attentive.

This place cracks me up because it's so hidden in Tysons that people don't know about it but it's big enough for a happy hour with lots of friends and the food is great and the prices are good too. I was surprised at the high quality of the pizzas and the fries come out crisp and hot which is often a barometer for me. :) I recommend for happy hour drinks and snacks for sure. Not sure about the dinner or late night atmosphere. Might be different. Service was good.

We had a terrible evening at Greenhouse Bistro last night with rude, inattentive service, fake prices on menus that they won't honor, defective hookah they charged for anyway, over an hour wait because they took our items to the wrong tables, and a mandatory 20% tip on our check, with no desire or willingness by the staff to fix anything. Our entire treatment and how the staff handled our night was completely unacceptable. We were a party of 4, sitting in the left side of the patio area on Sat evening 1/27/2024. One friend arrived early, so he put down a card to be able to get a table. 45 minutes in, he had to leave, but the rest of us planned to be there for about three hours. No one told us that when one person leaves, he can't just pay for his items and go. You have to close out the WHOLE table's check, just because one guy is getting up and leaving. We were told that someone should have warned him up front at the door. So we had to scramble for our cards and figure out how much each person had, who has to give whom money, and what other people are going to use their cards. They also don't split checks by items, only dollar amounts.I ordered a hookah. When it came out, the flavor lasted for about 20 minutes. I asked about this. The hookah server said her that manager told her to take a puff of it to prove that it was bad. She agreed that "it tastes like nothing", then went to talk to her manager again. She came back and said the only option was for me to pay for an extra head of a new flavor. Totally unacceptable and disgusting treatment, if they can't get it right the first time. So I ordered the second head anyway, because I came here to smoke a hookah and enjoy my time with friends. It took over an hour. I didn't understand. I was looking around. Hookah servers were continuing to bring out hookahs and extra heads to other tables, but I'm just left sitting. I had to ask my table server about it three times and she finally checked with someone, and when the hookah guy finally came around with my extra head, he told me that it was originally taken to the wrong table. There were fake menu prices as well. They don't have paper menus, and the QR code menu did not work, so a friend just looked up the menu online and asked for the Greenhouse Burger, for $13. He even pointed to the menu with the server there and said "I want that burger, with no bacon." When the check came out, the item was called "The Burger" at $19. Not that $6 is a huge deal, but it's pretty disreputable that they would just give you a fake price, and charge you another, higher amount. The check even said "No bacon", lol.The final check amount had a "mandatory" 20% added. I didn't agree to that, and no one told me up-front about a required 20%. The amount I tip would depend on service. But I didn't argue, and let it slide. I asked my server after we were forced to close out and pay early, 45 minutes into the evening, if I could get another diet coke and ice water. She said "Yes." Over the next 45 minutes, I watched her bring trays of iced waters and coke-looking drinks to several other tables, and she never came back to our table once.I guess they figure since they're getting that guaranteed 20% no matter what, they can just treat you like s**t.So I called tonight, on Sun 1/28/2024, to speak to a manager, and that's where things really went off the rails. The manger I spoke to said their policy is not to split checks by item, and that when one person leaves the table, it's customary to close out that whole table's check. He also stated that "this is the way all restaurants are" and that "Our clients all understand that. We shouldn't need to explain that at the door." - but I recalled a server mentioning that this is something they are supposed to make a point to warn people about at the door. He could've fooled me, saying every restaurant in the world requires a table's check to be closed out, so somebody can leave. On the 20% for poor service, he stated "Our servers work for tips, no we can't adjust anything." I asked "What about for poor service, and a 20% that they didn't earn?" On the failure to my drinks after the check, he said "The expectation is that after you close out your check, you will be leaving." But I mentioned again that we were FORCED to close out our check early. So now we're talking in circles. He wouldn't help.On the hookah and burger price, he said he would get back to me about that.I'd say if you're looking for a simple dining night, definitely DO NOT go to Greenhouse. I'd highly recommend against giving your money to people who give such horrible service, lie about prices, make you pay early (and then stop serving you), take your stuff to other tables, and then tack on 20% to your check just for your privilege to be there.

I wanted to like this place - I really did. The server was very friendly. The owner dropped by to tell us about the restaurant's recent reopening and about the back room with late night bottle service and a DJ. He was very kind and engaging. But the food just didn't measure up. It was overcooked and flavors were off. And although they have clearly sunk funds into producing a very nice menu, its offerings are far too ambitious. My hope is that they will reduce the number of dishes and work hard to ensure that each one is top notch. That said, it seems like a nice place for cocktails after work or late at night and a fun place for those who are generally seeking a nightlife in an area lacking these types of things. I wish them the best of luck in bringing their food up to the level of their service and friendliness.
