I have been coming to Golden House for years since before they moved within Silver Spring.Ive driven from Ellicott City, Olney and even DC to pick up my carry out.Highly disappointed today with my beef and broccoli and the rest of the order.The taste was terrible.No flavor and it's just not the same food.(I come here once a month)I'm not sure if it's an off day but the place wasn't busy so I can't see how you'd fumble the ball.I definitely won't be coming back.The Bethesda one has never been good hence why I always go to this one.

A reliable, standard Chinese place. The staff are friendly and it usually only takes about 15 minutes to get my order. The chicken satay is quite different from what I expected, it's just oven-baked chicken but it's still tasty. Fried rice is also good.

There was recent discussion on a Takoma Park Facebook page that recommended Chinese restaurants and Golden House had two comments of support. My husband and I were interested in finding a place closer to Takoma Park as our regular go-to Chinese restaurant. We ordered a variety of items that are always "tells" about how good a Chinese restaurant is - dumplings, Chow Fun (rice noodles), Kung Pao (we had shrimp), and vegetables with protein (we had chicken). The dumplings were simply big hunks of dough. I took one bite and spit it out. The rest of the food tasted as if it had been made several days ago and reheated. We threw the whole dinner out except for the white rice which I will give to my dog.
