It makes me feel really sad that people harass the Korean-dad-type guy who works here. Glover Park Mart is where you go for Lotto tickets, beer and wine in this neighborhood. They are very helpful here. One night I was was pestering them about where a particular beer might be located, and they came and helped my find it. At most convenient stores, I am just grunted at. This place is so tiny inside and easy to miss. It's not on the main Wisconsin Ave. drag, but behind it on 37th Street. It's the epitome of a neighborhood corner store. You'll come to depend on it a bit if you decide to move to Glover Park.

So much nicer than Tenley Mini Market. Wine, beer, chocolate, ice cream, newspaper, and lottery tickets. What more can a girl ask for?

Granted, the Market is convenient when you're in a rush and the owners/employees are very nice. But at those prices, do you really need anything that bad! From now on I'll do without or go elsewhere.

I've been passing by this place for a while since I now live nearby and I finally had a chance to visit today- and I'm so glad that I did! I was really impressed by the selection of goods. Lots of diverse items; there was even kimchi, a large variety of ramen noodles (even varieties of the korean spicy chicken noodles!!), mochi, various Italian pastas, Indian spices, kombucha, alcohol, other groceries, cleaning supplies, and more. Apparently they're going to be stocking even more items in the near future. The person working at the register was nice and helpful, and the owner renovated recently and it's clean and organized inside.I saw a review regarding old products- all the items I saw were clearly marked with the expiration date and I never felt deceived. Some things are a bit pricier but personally for a smaller locally-owned market, I think it's completely understandable since they need to make ends meet. I will continue to support them and I highly recommend people check this market out if they're in the area. Seriously, support small businesses like this one and it'll only help them improve even more!

I'm the same age as the Korean dad who runs this place. I know him,his wife, his daughter and his sister in law. I have been coming to this store for 7 years. I come here because I want to help a family owned business... I want to help them (even though their cigarettes are 1.50 more than the gas station next door). Every time I go into the store, we laugh, we chat, we talk about the weather, we exchange cordials. I spend approximately $60 a week at this market (not exaggerating). After 7 years, tonight, after checking out with a $40.00 purchase, I asked him for 1 plastic bag. He demanded I pay $.05 for the bag. II told him I would "get him" next time I came in. He said no. I laughed it off - gave him $1.00 and got my change. But I'm upset. Not only did I lose a neighborhood friend, but I really saw the essence of this person. As of tonight, he has now lost $240 a month for a $.05 bag. I will order from Postmates that will charge me $15.00 delivery fee rather than going back there if I have to. Bottom line, I'll do without rather than going there. Sad - this guy has no integrity and certainly no loyalty- to customersdude , I'm not exaggerating - a $.05 cents bag after 7 years of being a dedicated customer -- for real? breaking me down for .05 cents? I wish him no harm - they are good people. But - I'll walk on nails and lay on fire coals before ever going there again. Solid men don't behave like this, business men don't behave like this, men of trust and integrity don't behave like this --So, the $.05 bag just costed this guy, $240 a month, or $2880 a year (for the past 7 years or $20,160)I'm disgusted and disheartened. This .05 cents takes greed to another level. So Sir, of the Glover Park Market, I hope the $.05 cents was worth a $20,160 lost to you.Friendly recommendation - use wise judgment - Anyone in the neighborhood would not only jump at $20,160 of my money but would give me 10 bags for free! All the best Chief!

This place is super convenient, especially for last minute booze requirements on a Sunday. That said...it's significantly more expensive than Pearson's and Whole Foods, both of which are a hop-skip-and-jump away if that's all you're looking for. The proprietors are lovely and always super-friendly (when by now I would really expect them to start raising eyebrows when I ONLY EVER COME IN TO BUY BOOZE.) There. I said it. Now everyone can feel better.
