An excellent alternative for Sunday lunch. Nice surprise......We avoid buffets but still enjoy a nice mid-day meal on Sunday. Glenwood's in Rockville, MD hit the spot. Not too crowded, and a mostly adult clientele dressed, and a modern clean yet fancy environment was perfect. Also - I'd come here for a business meal and feel totally confident the experience would be top-notch.Free parking, excellent restrooms (off the elevator lobby), open airy dining room and bar with LOTs of natural light windows, and outdoor dining featuring awnings, lights and heat! The menu was not long yet it offered many expectations for a modern American restaurant. NOTE: There is sushi bar too. also - there were special offerings in both main dishes and desserts. Ask!Lunch of one shared appetizer (crunchy shrimp sesame roll), two main dishes, side of spinach, and two glasses of sparkling water totaled about $80 before tip, yet we took home more than enough for another meal - See photos!Full rack of ribs - excellent if you like wet fall of the bone style. Cole slaw was crunchy, and tabouleh salad was an interesting no-cost-to-substitute light alternative to French fries. Is this the best BBQ in the world? No - that designation is not possible given people's different definition of "best" yet it will likely satisfy most. Prime rib med rare was super tender. Mashed potatoes were obviously peppered and hot. Side spinach was surprisingly excellent - NOT overcooked and hot. Servings were typical American huge. Not drinkers, yet the bar seemed impressive as was the wine list. Service was professional and polite. I especially appreciate servers who are well groomed and who wear spotless uniforms. Yes!Booth benches were well padded and clean.Special: The Chihuly glass sculpture in the lobby was lovely. It's worth a few minutes of appreciation from different angles.Bottom Line: A safe business/meeting place that is also welcoming of casual adult diners. Families are likely welcome, but we did not see any.

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday with my wife and in-laws. All of us had a very nice experience. The staff was exceptionally attentive and welcoming. Our server cheerfully answered all of our questions about the menu, and engineered great timing between our appetizers, mains and dessert. The dining room is beautiful. It's quiet and clubby. A great place to catch up with friends or enjoy an intimate meal with your spouse/significant other. The food was professionally presented and generally good. Portions were generous and the ingredients were fresh and substantial. Fried calamari, brussels sprouts, barbecued ribs, mashed potatoes and the trout special were all standouts. The rib eye steak, at $51.00 was just OK. For my money, the ribs and the trout special were better values.

French DipIt's kind of a boring rendition. I Cynivised by adding Swiss cheese to it. The meal sat under a hot lamp so it was served Luke warm at best, the cheese didn't even melt. The fries were not fresh and cold in a matter of seconds once presented. The horseradish cream sauce was okay, needed more of a bite. The prime rib was tender, there needed to be more on the sandwich. The au jus had great flavor. Overall it was just an okay room temperature to cold sandwich. H2OThe water had a metallic taste to it, it was a bit off putting. Which limited getting anything else that uses the water. Seems like a thing as the Copper Canyon at Arundel Mills had the same odd tasting water, so definitely something the chain of restaurants that are sister owned should check into. Key Lime PieThis is always the star of coming to any of these co-owned restaurants. That crust sets it off!! Hands down best key lime pie in town. Fresh whipped cream, lime zest and a creamy pie texture, hint of cinnamon in the crust...what's not to love?!? While it didn't feed my soul, maybe it feeds yours?

Food: i love coming here for their famous prime rib! They recommend getting it medium rare, and that absolutely hits the spot if you're looking for pink and juicy bites. Dunking in the au jus is a must. The side of green beans have a delicious crunch. If you are a fan of fries, however, I recommend getting that as a replacement. Their skinny string shoe fries are absolutely delicious.

Food: crab cakes, bread pudding and sushi.: it was all consistently good.Service was friendly however alittle lacking on attention. If you like Copper Canyon in Rio then you will like this( it's the same exact food menu).

The atmosphere and food were great. This was my first time eating and I can say they give a decent portion of food so be mindful of that when ordering lol! That's not a bad thing, but giving you a heads up in case you don't want to overdo it.I think it's worth checking them out if you're looking for a new restaurant to try!

Glenwood's (formerly Stanford Grill) - A Cozy Family Dinner with Cheesecake Heaven! It was a perfect evening for a family dinner, so we decided to hit Glenwood's, which used to be Stanford Grill, and grabbed a table outside on the patio. Sure, there were a couple of lantern flies hanging around, but nothing too distracting -- just part of the outdoor charm, I guess! The vibe was great as usual, with a lively crowd and that familiar buzz of people enjoying themselves. Our server, who also happened to be the bartender, made sure we were well taken care of, especially my mom, who had specific requests for her crabcake salad. They accommodated her perfectly, which was a big plus.I ordered the ribeye filet, hoping for that perfect medium cook. It came out a bit more done than I'd asked for, but honestly, it was still good -- juicy and flavorful, paired with creamy mashed potatoes and green beans that hit the spot. My family had the chicken parm, which looked delicious and definitely added to the whole spread. But the real stars of the night? The desserts. It's that time of year, and as a cheesecake fan, I couldn't pass up the raspberry cheesecake and pumpkin cheesecake. Both were rich, creamy, and packed with flavor -- the perfect way to end the meal. I'm already thinking about coming back for more of that pumpkin cheesecake before the season's over.If you're looking for a place with good food, a fun crowd, and a relaxed patio setting, Glenwood's is where it's at. Even with a few minor hiccups, it was still a solid night out with family, and I'll definitely be back for more -- especially that cheesecake.

William Shakespeare said," A rose by any other name, would smell just as sweet." So, when The Stanford Grill changed its name...I was curious about how the restaurant changed? It is just as beautiful, filled with an extensive wine closet, rich dark woods, and an elegant bar area. The service was excellent. Our waiter was very thoughtful and carefully, made sure that our dietary restrictions were followed. He was experienced and knowledgeable. We all ordered the burgers and fries. The burgers were cooked to our preferred temperature and very generous in size. I couldn't believe they were able to get all of our toppings order correct, but they were on point. And, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We shared an ice cream sundae, that was delicious, but could have used a little less whipped cream and a little more ice cream. It was scrumptious! So, although nothing had changed, but the name....sometimes, that is a good thing.

This was such a lovely place. The food was so delicious, the seasoning, and sauces enhanced every bit. The portions are huge whether you're getting an appetizer or entree. The drinks were strong and good and our waiter was so well knowledge about the menu. The lighting was so beautiful, and nice especially once it got dark it gave a very intimate vibe. Perfect place for evening date night.

Re-visited this restaurant and found out they changed their name entirely to Glenwood's (previously Stanford grill). Their menu was much more condensed but still provided a variety of options including sushi and American food. I had their special (swordfish) on top of mushroom risotto and I was impressed. Service was really great. Our waiter swung by to check on us, cleaned our table off quickly and took away any empty plates. It's a nice date night restaurant or even a friend/family gathering for celebration or just because. Decor is lovely.
