Farmers Fishers Bakers is a DC classic and a great place to bring guests from out of town The service is always good. The menu is extensive with lots of options for anyone's preference. And the food is great! I've been here several times and have always been pleased with the experience. I highly recommend getting corn bread and several other appetizers like the fried calamari or crab dip to split. They also have some nice cocktails. Before or after your meal, you can walk along the beautiful Georgetown waterfront or walk up to the main part of Georgetown to do some shopping.

Where do I start? So made reservations the day before to meet friends coming down from Damascus. The reservation was for 12pm (which we later regretted making it for that time) upon arriving we are seated outside which was fine even in the cold the heat was on but then informed that it is buffet only. The buffet price was reasonable per person but nobody in the group wanted a buffet as they are germaphobes (also not like there were sneeze guards it was all just out there so totally understandable). So we were informed that 2pm was the end of buffet time. I just wish I was informed when making the reservation on Open Table. To make a long story short, we then walked around Georgetown area to find a place but with no reservation we did not find any place. I called Founding Farmers back to see if they had anything for 2pm and explained what happened and they said we can sit at the bar and wait for a table to open up. So we did exactly that and waited about 30 mins for table. Excellent service and very friendly staff made this happen for us. To the food:Again I have to point out how friendly the service was and I am not deducting stars for any of the staff. Actually, Abel our server was beyond incredible that I asked for his name so I can name him in the review. My star deduction comes from the system and some of the food not being great. The skillet cornbread was good I liked that it had real corn in it. The chicken and waffles meal was good, I liked the chicken, it was ok the waffle tasted very fresh and natural but the plate didn't have syrup on it to use. The worse part of the plate was the Mac and cheese. There was barely any cheese except for a watery flavorless cheese sauce at the bottom. Zero flavor in that Mac nobody even wanted to take it home with them and we literally had one bite of it. The sliders were ok nothing special and the pretzels were nice and fresh. Have to mention how good the Scratch soda was, absolutely delicious! All in all, would return but would double confirm if it's buffet only at the time interested in coming as Open Table does not inform you when making the reservation.

We came here for my mom's birthday and were ready to splurge a bit so we tried many dishes. Standouts were the spinach artichoke dip, the ribeye and their garlic knots. Everything was delicious though. What was lacking was service - although there were plenty of servers (at one point a bunch of them congregated in a corner just to hang out), we were barely checked in on and food took extremely long to come out. Our drinks took almost 30 minutes at the beginning. We were so frustrated by the end that we ended up skipping the birthday pie (pretty sad) and found a different spot for dessert. I'd come back for a quick meal but with this level of service, definitely won't return for a special occasion again.

The apps were good. We went kind of late so they didn't have our first 3 choices of item because they ran out. Overall food was delicious.

This iconic Georgetown restaurant happens to be right by the waterfront (great location and views). It boasts a big dining space great for large groups and happy hours but still feeling cozy (for dates). Menu is farm-inspired American fare. Many different types of pastas, burgers, seafood, breads, and drinks are on their menu. Everything is made with good ingredients and fresh. I had the BLT with turkey and avocado. The sandwich was massive with generous amounts of good quality turkey and fresh avocado slices (took the bacon out). The bread was a toasted sourdough and it also was very good (her the sandwich together well). Service was extremely gracious and on pointe. Our server checked up on us often and made sure our needs were met.

While in Georgetown in DC during a quick stay with my company division, we had dinner at Founding Farmers in Washington Harbour. The decor was warm and sophisticated with cubby-hole like booth seating along one wall and table seating and barn frames on the other side of the space made to look like you were in the creations of a barn to represent the theme of farm-to-table cuisine. The food was solid during our time at the restaurant that had more of a seafood focus and was quite tasty. For my money, the scallops with risotto were creamy, zesty, and delicious, while the mussels with the white wine juices made for good eats. Since I wasn't drinking alcohol on this trip, I had to opt for more of a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage, which the raspberry lime Rickey was rather disappointing and way too sweet and sour. I had a hard time swallowing most of it and chose water mostly during my stay.

We really enjoyed their flagship restaurant on Pennsylvania Avenue and were therefore very excited to try out this location. This branch is conveniently located near the waterfront, which has great views. We ordered the fishers fry combo, which includes fried shrimp, white fish, crab cake, coleslaw and pimento cheddar biscuit. We also tried the farmers salad.Overall the quality of the food is great and the service is excellent. We still prefer their flagship location better, but we are happy to have tried this branch too.

Starting with service because that was the best part of the disappointing meal. Our waiter was knowledgable of the menu and the area and guided some of our choices. The inside of the restaurant was lovely and bright even though brunch was winding down. The food was between mid and just bad. The fish n' chips was clearly cooked from a frozen, pre-battered bag. The coating was dense, greasy, and pulling away from the fish. The crab artichoke dip had more bits of shell than meat. The curry & cucumber mussels should have indicated it was made with hamburger pickles. Several of the mussels were unopened.
