Fo Bistro

We recently visited Fo Bistro for my buddy's going away event as he heads off to officer candidate school, and he couldn't have picked a better spot! From start to finish, the experience was incredible.We were lucky to snag seats right across from the chefs, which made the evening extra special. The chefs were not only talented but also so friendly and engaging, making the experience feel personal and welcoming. We opted for the omakase dinner, and it was a decision we won't forget!To start, the chefs surprised us with an on-the-house appetizer of tempura-style salmon--absolutely amazing. This was followed by a comforting bowl of miso soup and a fresh, crisp salad. The main event was nothing short of spectacular: a beautifully presented boat filled with a variety of nigiri, sashimi, and sushi rolls that were fresh, flavorful, and artfully crafted.The cozy dining atmosphere was perfect for the occasion. We paired the meal with a large bottle of Sapporo and some warm sake, which complemented the sushi perfectly.If you're looking for a lowkey sushi spot that delivers an experience on par with the more "northern" spots in VA, Fo Bistro is the place to be. Great food, great people, and an unforgettable evening. Highly recommend!

Super friendly. I came in for lunch on a Tuesday and was only one there. I ordered a lunch bento box with fried tempura, California roll, rice, and dumplings. It was good but I've definitely had better. It came with a choice or soup or salad. Asked for recommendations of their special rolls. Ended up with the torch roll. It had Spicy tuna, avocado, crunchy inside, topped with fresh salmon and mayo, seared with eel sauce and masago. It was good. The inside was dark but had a nice ambiance. Overall I wish I loved it more, but will be back. I would like to try more food from here.

This place is sooo cute. Everyone was very nice and attentive. Food was sooo good and fresh. Any questions I had were easily answered. I will be back to the more things.

As gorgeous of a place this is and a staple for the Montclair community. The customer service has been lacking. Spontaneously was craving sushi and decided to order the Maki B for pickup. Had order notes for extra spicy mayo and eel sauce and was told during pickup it was extra charge which was not a problem at all. I even tipped on top of it. I get home and I have no eel sauce but instead double soy. I called to not making a big fuss and to just request a refund for just the eel sauce since I didn't receive and was made out to be a liar cause the woman insisted she put the eel sauce in there and repeatedly told me it was in there and what it looked like even after I told her I tasted both sauces. She still didn't believe me so I took my son out of bed and drove back to show her I wasn't lying and requested a refund for all my sauces I paid for . She dug through my bag like it was magically going to appear and then gave me cash when I should have insisted a refund to my card since that's what I paid by but I wasn't going to press the issue for a few dollars . No apology was given by HER mistake . The experience put a bad taste in my mouth and honestly the sushi was terrible and I only ate 5 pieces before throwing the rest in the trash . I will definitely not be returning .

Delightful restaurant offering a serene and beautifully maintained ambiance. The space is clean, creating a peaceful environment . The menu features fresh sushi and ramen. Service was kind and pleasant.

Hidden gem located near Woodbridge. All of their sushi was fresh, flavorful and delicious. Anything fried was fried to perfection. The service was great, the staff is attentive and very nice. The ambiance of Fo Bistro was relaxing and inviting. I am so happy to have found a new sushi spot without having to go to Fairfax or D.C. If you are considering it, I highly recommend giving it a try. You will not be disappointed.

I haven't been here in at least 4 years and I'm so happy that they are still open. They have some of the best sushi in Woodbridge. I got the crazy yellow tail roll and the shrimp tempura roll. They were both delicious. I also got the spicy miso roman with chicken. It was so rich and flavorful. My husband got the Thai Basil shrimp fried rice and he really enjoyed it. We will definitely be back soon. Oh and the service and ambience were great. No complaints at all about either.

The ramen noodle is what got me. I have been here a few times and have tried their chicken teriyaki Bento box and a few of their sushi. I think I even took home a beef teriyaki bento box. But what I really love is the Ramen noodle soup - just filling and comforting. The service has always been wonderful. The decor is cute, and the ambiance is wonderful. I'm feeling the red tones all over the restaurant. It's casual yet elegant. 4 something stars.

While traveling I called in this order to do. Upon arrival there wasn't a single person eating inside of the restaurant. The food quality was not great at all the service was great. I called in an order but the sushi quality was terrible. I took a few bites and threw it away.

First, I will rate the Ambiance and Service. They were both good. The decor was nice, and the restaurant was very clean; neither the floors nor menus were sticky. Surprisingly, many restaurants cannot claim the same.The service was good, but the very nice waitress did not have a good command of English. However, that can improve with experience. She did not follow our request to bring our appetizers and main dishes to the table at the same time.The menu selection was adequate.The food value was overpriced for the quality.We ordered tempura and calamari from the appetizer menu, and Yaki Udon and Yaki Soba from the noodles menu. We asked for all four items to be delivered at the same time to be consumed as a main meal, but they either did not understand us or did not care to follow our request.We lived in Japan for three years, and I visited many times over my Navy career. We both really enjoy Japanese noodles and know what the flavors should be. The food was basically flavorless. All four items we ordered tasted the same--bland. Even the tempura dipping sauce was bland and tasteless. The calamari was very tough and not fresh. The only thing that had flavor was the calamari dipping sauce, but I'm sure that's only because it was the same Thai dipping sauce we use and purchase from local Asian grocery stores.We have no plans to return and try again. We CANNOT RECOMMEND.
