What a lovely little place!!! It gets a little tight depending on where you sit, but I met several people here for dinner and honestly I was impressed. It was pretty full, but the service was pretty good! I don't remember our server's name, but she was efficient and polite. I got the lamb gnocchi that my friend recommended, and go figure, it's one of the most popular dishes among Yelpers. I SEE WHY. It was definitely no store-bought gnocchi and it just tasted so fantastic with the lamb that was miraculously not dried out! It was my first time having lamb in pasta, believe it or not. It was so so good. And the bread and pesto that came to the table beforehand were an excellent bonus. Speaking of bonuses, wine bottles are half off on Wednesdays and Sundays. If you're looking for an authentic Italian experience, check this place out for sure!

How is this place getting such high reviews? I don't understand. Yes the space is cute and lovely for a date. Unfortunately my wife would be so disappointed from the food if we came here the rest of my night would be a mess.Sunday and Wednesday they do half price bottle of wine night, and the wine selection is decent from an Italian bottle perspective. They have very little old or unique wines, but with the 50% the wines are a good deal. Beyond the space and half priced bottle of wine night, we have some real issues. The service feels cluttered and confused. The're not quite sure what's going on. The food is highly inconsistent. The pesto that comes with the bread is extremely flavorful and really quite a treat. The cheese and charcuterie board felt so uninspired. I cannot imagine serving that representation of three hard, boring cheeses to people. Very little variety on what was on the plate. The Gnocchi appetizer was terribly overcooked, though I guess the flavors were alright. The lasgna had some great flavors, but again, the noodles were limp and sad. I'm not going to pretend like Carbone and torrisi are the only good italian spots, but really they've got to get it together here. What is going on?

First review of 2025 - don't sleep on Floriana. There are so many Italian options in DC. Floriana is a stand out for the quiet intimacy, lovely service and delicious food - every time. They've been around for decades - with good reason. Pastas are perfect, mains are delectable and the vibe is quiet and cozy. Highly recommended.

I came for the lamb gnocchi and was a little disappointed that after I ordered it, they ran out so they had to substitute with spaghetti noodles. However, the lamb ragu tasted amazing and had a lot of flavor! They also gave me house bread with a pesto sauce, and it was good. Overall, I'd come back to this place.

I went on Saturday to Floriana. Initially I thought of sitting inside but outside was shady so i asked for a seat under the tent. My reservation was for 6 pm. I get the menu and immediately put in an order for a glass of wine because the waiter was right there. I thought I ordered red but a white came out. Not a big deal. I cheated and looked at the menu ahead of time and was thinking lasagna. Lots of people out on Saturday night. The restaurant wasn't that busy. I got a look inside and not too many people eating. I had to wash my hands. The stairs going up are slanted a bit. No soap to wash in the men's room. I didn't notice it until my hands were wet...ok. A pre dinner snack was on the table when I returned form the men's room. I wasn't sure what it was...looked like toast with a side of pesto. Never thought about pesto and toast but I'll give it a try. Not sure what was in the small metal container but it didn't taste good.Ok, I push it aside and sip the wine. The lasagna showed up before too long and (I have to be honest) I have never seen lasagna that looked like what was on my plate. I have a bite or two, it's ok. It was very dry and needed more sauce and less melted cheese. So I pack it up, finish the wine, pay the check and leave.

Great place for quality Italian! This was my first time going for brunch. They had a curated brunch menu, so don't expect the full dinner menu during the day! We especially love their bread and pesto they usually serve at dinner, so we asked if they had it for brunch. They don't usually serve it but they were nice enough to give us some! It is truly amazing pesto and delicious bread. The lasagna is amazing and full of flavor. The totelloni was delicious but I recommend adding some pesto sauce for more of a kick if you can get your hands on it! The Banana Foster French Toast was delicious but very sweet. Recommend sharing that!

I've been wanting to go for a while, and I'm so glad we were finally able to go. We had the calamari and 4 different pasta dishes, and they were all delicious- it was hard to decide which was our favorite! Drinks were phenomenal, we had dirty martinis, manhattans, and a bottle of red. Service was wonderful too. Very cute and cozy interior. We will be coming back!

About a 2.5: Floriana has another location out in Wilmington, and the restaurants feature homemade pastas, steaks, and chops.A friend treated me to dinner here, making advance reservations. We started off with:+Tajarin - prepared with egg yolk noodles, funghi misto, truffle oil, and porcini cream sauce; not sure how we felt about the noodles, but the porcini cream sauce was nice and creamy+Burrata - with butternut squash puree and walnuts; good with bread+Calamari Fritti - served with a spicy tomato sauce; the calamari was just okay; wished it was battered better and served with some type of aioli instead+and, a Black Gnocchi - with lobster cream, roasted peppers, Andouille sausage, and rock shrimp; I was excited for this app, but this fell short as it was bland and not seasonedFor our mains, we knew we wanted to try their homemade pastas:+the Lobster Tagliarini - with squid ink pasta and arrabbiata sauce; wished this had more lobster meat+the Burrata Ravioli - with roasted mushrooms and a spinach and basil velutata; this was, unfortunately, super bland, which was the opposite of what we experienced with the burrata appetizer+and, the Ravioli di Zucca - with roasted butternut squash and gorgonzola, walnuts, and a brown butter sage sauce; enjoyed the butternut squash filling with the walnuts as a toppingService was friendly and attentive. The space is cute and cozy, with the bright red walls.Limited street parking available in the area.+homemade pastas+friendly service+limited street parking availabe

Went for Sunday night dinner. Fairly uncrowded with very nice outdoor patio seating. Area was clean with enough space between patrons. Service was prompt and friendly. Very reasonable prices for their restaurant week menu. Black gnocchi was fantastic. As other reviewers have commented, the lasagna is great and the duck dish was definitely on point. Half off bottle of wine wrapped up our meal. Overall great experience.
