Fireman's Cafe Truck

Had the opportunity to try the Fireman's Cafe food truck tonight at the Hotel I am staying at. I had the Mild Hot dog (sorry I can't recall the name) and the side of mac n cheese. The beef hot dog was larger and reminded me of a red hot smokee which was good. The mac n cheese was really good it had a smoky taste to it which was great. Several coworkers had the shrimp and fries which they said was great. I would eat here again.

I visited this food truck because I always love BBQ options, but I didn't really love my lunch that day. I ordered BBQ Pulled Beef with a side of Mac & Cheese. The food was prepared fast enough, and the people were nice, but the actual food looked disappointing. It looked like a slop of lunch meat you'd get at an elementary school cafeteria. It wasn't super nice tasting either. The saving grace was the Mac & Cheese though. It was really nice! I should've just ordered more helpings of that to be honest.

The food truck came out to Rockville for Tasty Tuesday's. I had the Shrab (crab/shrimp) and potato salad. Both were good. I saw some reviews with shells in the crabmeat. I did not encounter that but there is always a possibility if you eat crab. The potato salad taste like homemade. My friend got the whiting fish sandwich, but said it needed seasoning. Dash of hot sauce -- fixed that right up. I would recommend the items I purchased and will try their restaurant in Clinton.

So always wanted to go there and never got a chance have followed them for a long time... GOOD PEOPLE... Well today was the first time I got to actually get the famous Shrab cake sandwich... HOLY NUTZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ was it great... I just wished the Largo Government Center is not so far away... I would so have lunch there everyday... Thanks for a great lunch today....

This truck came to our office park today as the featured food truck. I had never heard of a "shrabcake" until today...but it was tasty and a nice twist on a Maryland favorite. For some reason when I think a shrimp + crab cake, I imagine the crab meat plus maybe chopped shrimp. Instead, it was lump crab meat and tiny shrimps. The cake was deep fried and put on a bun along with two sides - greens & french fries. I ended up just eating the shrabcake sans bun. A small side of sauce that seemed like honey mustard (not totally sure) was included but I ate the cake plain and loved it. The greens were delicious. Perfect amount of flavor. A little more meat than I prefer but I think that added to the flavor. French fries were okay but definitely not the star of the show.It is a bit pricey, but it is also seafood - I'd rather pay for quality then get sketchy shrimps. I would definitely go back to the food truck if it comes back to our office park.I wish I had a picture to share but honestly I devoured it and didn't think of it until the food was gone.

First time trying it but certainly won't be the last! Absolutely delicious! Great customer service and yummy shrimp!

My only suggestion is they hire more help. Someone taking orders and someone taking money and cards. The cold, and the line would not deter me from sampling this food truck. The Mac and cheese is hands down the best I have ever had. I am not a fan of Mac and cheese typically because to me it encompasses so much more than cheese and noodles. Cooks often leave out the seasoning, sour cream, milk, cream cheese and a variety of different cheeses. This Mac and cheese has had me wishing I ordered an extra side all night long. Soon as I got home my daughter was all in my bag and thoroughly enjoyed what was initially my food. Now for the schrabcake, my my my. No it is not made of lump crab meat more so a blend of backfin and special but it was seasoned well, fried well and oh so tasty. I was hesitant from many tellers saying they encountered a lot of shells however I only encountered one which was no biggie at all. I want another one so bad. My only other suggestion would be as on the board no sides not even fries or chips come with any of the sandwiches or entrees so you are paying the price of a dinner without any sides. The schrabcake sandwich is $12 no sides. I will be back as it is heavy on my mind.

This truck parked in front of our office in SW. I was excited - the options sounded great. I rolled up to the main window, and the cashier shouts to me, "I can help you over here ma'am." I start asking questions about the food, then asked if I could see it, and he barks again, "I am not gonna be handling food mam." I was a new, excited customer. I had a taste for BBQ. Really??? Not nice at all. No smile. No hello. Unfriendly. No DC charm. Pumping DC GoGo. Here's my thought: You can pump ALL the DC GOGO you want, but you still have to be at least "halfway pleasant" with potential customers. Never mind. BBQ's probably salty, full of fat and greasy anyway. I will never find out.

I ordered the catfish sandwich. It looks like they forgot to include the sauce so it was just the fried fish and plain bread. I was already back at my desk so it wasn't worth going back. The two big lightly seasoned fish pieces were hot, tasty, and crispy. I also got a side of collared greens which was pretty good. The truck itself is cool, although it has a sign declaring their political/religious views which I could've done without. I might give it another shot if it's nice out and they're not sold out of the BBQ sandwiches. Be prepared to wait a while, which I think is worth it for hot and fresh food.

The Firemans café truck visited our location today the only dilemma I had was trying to decide on a pulled turkey barbecue with fries or shrab cake with fries ....let's just say I should have ordered two shrab cakes!!! Staff we're ready to serve us with a smile and I appreciate great service ....thank you all!
