We came here after seeing good reviews. Neither of us are typically BBQ fans and choose BBQ when looking for a place to eat. The inside was big with ample seating. You go into a cove off the to the right and order and the seating is separate out to the left. The cashier who took our order was incredibly helpful. He helped us order for our small kid. They don't have a kids menu but they have options that tend to be catered towards kids. He also helped us save money when we ordered to share. We did the four meats and four sides. We shared the brisket, pork rib tips, chicken, and jalapeño sausages. All of the meat was incredible but my favorite was the brisket. It was tender and fell right apart. The port rib tip was extremely flavorful with fantastic seasoning. The chicken was moist and the sausage was delicious. The meat was ample for two people!! The sides were also incredible. The green beans had a slight kick to them, and they were probably the best I've had. The fries had a nice spicy seasoning and they were big and crispy. The brussel sprouts came with a lot and were super crispy and seasoned with a kick as well. The Mac and cheese was also fabulous and not overly cheesy. All of their BBQ sauce is homemade and they were all great. Our favorite was the mild and the garlic. The garlic was AMAZING. The children's chicken burger was huge and the chicken was delicious and crispy. The bun was also fluffy and had sesame seeds. I would absolutely come again. The food was fabulous and great service! The price is a bit higher than average but well worth it!!

Ordered delivery tonight from Federalist Pig and I hate to say this, it was one of the worst meals of my 32 years on Earth. We ordered the special for 2, burnt ends, ribs, pulled pork, and pork belly, with double fries, green beans, and chili Mac. Everything tasted horrendous. The ribs were completely dry, the pulled pork was cat food at best (and I absolutely hate using these words but really there's nothing else to describe it), the pork belly was dry, and the burnt ends were bland and dry.We also ordered the oxtail empanadas and the banana pudding. The banana pudding was one of the worst desserts I've ever had in my life, from the smell to the texture to the taste. The empanadas were mushy and two of them had large bones, which is inexcusable.Overall, this was absolutely ridiculously horrible.

Federalist Pig in Washington, D.C., is a BBQ lover's paradise! From the moment you walk in, the smoky aroma lets you know you're in for something special. The brisket is tender with a perfect bark, and the pulled pork is packed with flavor and just melts in your mouth. Their signature sauces add that extra punch, especially the spicy and tangy ones that elevate every bite. The sides are no afterthought here either--the mac and cheese is creamy with a nice cheesy crust, and the collard greens are seasoned just right. The staff is welcoming and clearly passionate about what they do, which makes the experience even better. If you're in D.C. and craving barbecue, Federalist Pig is the spot!

I've had quite some bbq foods before.Today I was a little disappointed trying a new location with good reviews.First, the person taking the order seemed like they didn't enjoy their jobSecond, our food was not hot and over seasonedThe brisket was not tender and the spare ribs was alright. I did end up tossing a one out cause it was cold. I am not sure what really happened.Third, 3% surcharge and tip for basically self serve food The Mac and cheese was good in my opinion as well!

Considering how crazy packed this week was-FP's service was perfect. We met friends for drinks before heading out for dinner. The location was loud-and I loved it

Shockingly great vegetarian options, including mains, as well as chill ambiance, and warm service.

The sides were my favorite part of the meal. The meat was moist. I was not a fan of the sauces. We ordered uber eats, so this may have affected the experience. Got a platter of 4 meats and 4 sides and they forgot the ribs. The turkey was my favorite meat. The green chile hominy was my favorite side.
