Finally got to try Fava Pot for lunch during Crystal City Food truck Thursday. Wait wasnt too bad. They do take credit card so that's a bonus. The truck has alot of variety that it was difficult to choose from all the selections. But I had one goal. Falafel... End of story no other distractions. I had read reviews that the falafel was pretty awesome. Considering I love falafel and have been on the search. I haven't really found one as amazing if not better then Mamouns in NY. I got the Pharoah's Falafel Sandwich which is vegetarian no big deal I love veggies. Sandwich contents were Creamy Hummus, crispy Falafel and their signature Roasted Potatoes, on a bed of fresh lettuce, tomatoes, parsley, onions and Tahini topped with Harissa. When I recieved my wrapped sandwich I was expecting it to be smaller considering it just looked like a mini burrito. But it was actually a decent size for $7.90+tax not bad. First but was of falafel OMG... Texture had a nice graininess of falafel full of flavor and warm crispy and delcious. Then you get the creamy hummus with the fresh tomato. The wrap was thin and complimented the whole sandwich wrap. The further I got into the wrap the more flavorful it became the potatoes were a nice texture contrast to the falafel overall probably one of the best falafel wraps I have had. Falafel hands down has been the best flavor I've had in awhile. Looks like I found a new lunch food truck. Such a delicious sandwich and for 7.90 not bad. I'll be back fave pit don't get rid of the Pharorahs falafel sandwich because I'll be back soon.

The service was very friendly and they were very enthusiastic about their food. Unfortunately, I just wasn't impressed and found this truck to be below average.I ordered the chicken platter with potatoes. This also comes with a small parsley/onion salad on flatbread on top and a larger piece of flatbread on the bottom. The chicken was well seasoned but was less lean and was a smaller serving of meat than at most similar restaurants. The parsley/onion salad on flatbread was an interesting concept but tasted a bit like cilantro on stale bread to me. The roasted potatoes were also well seasoned but because they were pre-cooked and reheated, they had the consistency of leftovers from last night that were reheated in the microwave. Finally, the piece of flatbread on the bottom seemed to be I heated and right off the shelf at the grocery store. That or perhaps it was just stale? Either way I wasn't impressed. This truck was less than impressive despite the friendly service. There are too many other quality trucks in the DC area for me to recommend this one or give it another try.

It's my first time here and I've heard alot about the only Egyptian food in the DMV area! Yes it's the ONLY Egyptian food in the whole area!!I follow them on twitter & Facebook and they post where they will be!They have a number which you can text your order with the time and all the details and they will have your food ready, you only pay and go! I did that and it was great! It's the number on the Yelp page! They accept all type of payments which not all the carts do!!I took a big order for me and my relatives so we tried:1. Koshary "VERY GOOD"2. Chicken Kabob "EXCELLENT"3. Kofta "VERY GOOD"4. Lamb Fatta "EXCELLENT"5. The Jumbo platter which was a combo from almost every item they have! "EXCELLENT"The Chicken Kabob was very juicy and very well spiced , also the Kofta was juicy and will spiced but it's not well done as I like but actually that be perfect for so many people! The Fatta was super amazing with a very good lamb meat! Really good quality and great sauce and spices! All the food was clean, healthy and tasty served with a smile and great customer service!!I hope that when they turn to be a restaurant soon they can do their own bread, that will be super!!Do yourself a favor and go grab a lunch when they are in your area or watch them when they go to Festivals or some rare times that they open for dinner! Don't forget to text them your order if you can't wait in the line!I can't wait till they open their Restaurant in Falls Church/Arlington area in May!!

The rice was more of a mixed rice pilaf than a standard white rice. It came with perfectly seasoned and juicy boneless chicken pieces. It also came with a side salad. The sauce served on the side of the chicken was thick, lemony and delicious. I will definitely be back.

First time trying Egyptian food. I ordered the Hawashei and the Pharaoh's Falafel and here's how it went. The Hawashei: it's not for me, again this is my very first time trying Egyptian food so I'm probably not use to the flavor. Pharaoh's falafel: this was the best falafel I have ever had. Hands down. The falafel by itself is very flavorful and in the sandwich it brought everything together very well. I'll be back for more falafel!

Stopped by this food truck for lunch with coworkers when it was parked near our office and was very impressed with the food! They have a decent selection of Egyptian food-- I decided to get the Shish Taok "Chicken Kabob" with potatoes which was very yummy and a decent amount of food. I ate most of it for lunch but finished it off a little later in the day as a snack lol. Overall it's good food at a reasonable price. I'll definitely be back next time I see it!

Was super excited to try another food truck after having just started working in the area. I had the chicken platter with rice which was way too spiced up, even spices on the pita bread too! The rice was way overbuttered and the chicken had too many spices on it. Plus, I got #80 in line and while I was okay waiting behind 10 people, when they got to #79 they called out #81, then another number and I was pretty sure one of those was the same platter I had ordered! Not sure I'd be back, food was just okay at best, I expected better!

Wanted to share a bizarre experience. I was trying this food truck for the first time - before noon, so there was no line. I asked for the kofta platter with rice - the lady asked me then "with potatoes?" I said, no with rice please. Later she hands me my container and I see potatoes sticking out of it - I give it back nicely - saying I asked for rice - she took the platter, opened it, made it look like she was swapping out the potatoes with rice, or something..::then closed it back and handed it to me - sure enough, no rice, just potatoes. The food was good - but this sketchy experience made me feel like I can't trust them handling my food again. For a $13 lunch - it sure is not worth it.

Quite good and the only things keeping me from giving them 5 stars are noted below. I've been a few times and the food has been consistently good here at Fava Pot. My co-workers were so impressed when they saw my food that they joined be today to get their Fava on.I only have a few minor quibbles. The meat is not consistently juicy, I know that they must pre-cook in order to maintain production times. However, my kofta today was a bit dry and one of my co-workers also mentioned that their chicken was a bit dry. My last order (chicken platter) was also a bit lukewarm but was not dry.Overall the flavors and freshness of the ingredients here really shine. I could eat the toum (garlic ) sauce with a spoon! I wish there were more fresh vegetable options for sides since two pieces of bread AND potatoes (or rice) really adds to the carb load.Overall, great truck with very friendly staff. Now that I have had a series of good experiences with lunch I will make an effort to try their breakfast one of these days, especially since they are one of the few trucks to offer breakfast options!

Fava Pot is a great choice. I had the Cornish game hen platter, with dolamides, potatoes, pita, and salad. The game hen was tender and flavorful--very well seasoned. Dolamides were small, which was fine for the platter, and good. Pita was also good. They have a loyalty card, which is nice and the staff is super friendly and helpful.
