I have no idea why this place is showing up as closed, as I just ate here a few weeks ago. There was a large line on a Saturday night, and it was very slow to order and get food. With the big line, I had hoped the food would be good.I ordered the crabcake sandwich ($9.85 w tax), which was mostly filler. There were also some shells in the takeout container. There was no seasoning, and it was just kind of bland and boring. I wouldn't return.

Just got some food and we are all VERY disappointed. The calamari was over cooked, the fish was dry and the shrimp as edible. The fries were soggy and the onion rings were okay. Don't bother with this place!

DISGUSTING !!! The ONLY 1 good thing that came from this meal is that we didn't get sick and die or end up in the hospital !!! This was the most awful, horrible, nasty assed crap I have ever been served in a restaurant. We ordered 2 different combo type plates and spent $50. for a horrible meal. This was our ONE MEAL in DC and we chose this because of the perception of freshness and quality. WRONG !!!!!Shrimp - overcooked, dry, toughClam Strips - overcooked strips of leatherOnion Rings - soggy and soaked in greaseFish filet- overcooked and dried outScallops - YELLOW AND SLIMY AND SOUREDMac & cheese - soured tasting and total mush - pastyRolls - cold, hard and dryThe only 2 things we had that were even edible were the fried oysters and the spinach.. it was not creamed but loaded with vinegar - not horrible, but not what we ordered. The kitchen is littered with old boxes, stacked with supplies, it's dirty, disorganized, and filthy. The entire business looks like an episode of 'Hoarders" - looking back I cannot even believe we decided to eat here. This place ruined our dinner, ripped us off for $50 and literally served us 2 items that were noticeably spoiled !!! I complained, made a small scene in front of other potential victims ordering food, and we got our money back. DO NOT GO HERE !!!! Read these reviews !!!! it's not only HORRIBLE - it's DANGEROUS !!!! THIS PLACE NEEDS TO SHUT DOWN BEFORE THEY KILL SOMEONE !!!!

AVOID. Ordered the 12-piece scallops. They all had a nasty metallic after-taste. After forcing my way through about 4-5 of them, I threw the rest in the trash. I'm not a seafood snob by any means, so if I can't stand them even the most iron-stomached person will have trouble swallowing these. FYI: I researched the metallic taste. Turns out that scallops that taste like ammonia or have a metallic taste were pumped with STP (sodium triphosphate) to make them soak up water (more weight = more money). Yuck.

Decided to order food from here while visiting the Wharf. When we arrived they were moving really slow. One guy taking and packing orders plus one cook in the kitchen. Waited about 10 minutes with one person in front of me to order. After we ordered another guy came out to assist the order taker. They give you a physical ticket of your order to hold with a number on it they call when your food is ready. We ordered a slice of carrot cake and two platter... fried fish, fries, and mac & cheese plus fried flounder, onion rings, and mac & cheese. When we were called up for our order we were told they were out of mac & cheese. We got hush puppies and coleslaw instead. Everything was delicious! The cake was like 7 layers and the icing was too sweet. Could not eat much of it. It was a waste of money.Unique spot... not your typical restaurant. No seating. With all the construction going on it is a great grab and go option with the 45 minute parking in the connected lot.

Let's start with the positives, the food is very reasonably priced and the portions are great. Now the cons: Do not come here if you have somewhere to be. For some reason they decided that having one person to take the orders and bag the food during a busy weekday lunch is a profitable idea. Wrong. Took literally an hour to order popcorn shrimp and two tacos. The food was cheap but the taste was bland. They could be a good establishment if management decided to maybe put one more person on staff during peak hours. Ridiculous. My advice: just buy some raw fish next door because you could cook it yourself and eat it faster, or just go to shake shack right down the street.

Stopped by Evans Brothers Seafood for lunch this afternoon after walking around the wharf for a while. My husband and I both ordered a po' boy combo (oyster for me, and shrimp for him). Both combos came with fries and a drink. While the sandwiches were tasty, they were not just from the deep fryer hot. The fries were good too. A little soggy, but still quite tasty. Now to be honest, I probably would have given this place 3 stars if it wasn't for the clam chowder. Boy was that yummy! It was served piping hot and with crackers. The clam chowder alone is worth the trip. As for the customer service, well, that I will just leave well enough alone. In other words, not much chit chat. Don't except them to wow you with conversation...

Combo seafood platter was huge! Along with seafood meat, it comes with 2 sides and 2 bread rolls, which is awesome. All for $17 ish. I ordered 1 crab cake and 4 oysters with sauteed spinach and potato wedges. The crab cake was *wow* AMAZING. So incredibly moist, juicy, and perfectly fried. It was delicious with tartar sauce and bread roll. I have to say, I'm really impressed with the bread rolls. I would've never thought a white bread roll could be so delicious, chewy, and fresh-tasting. It seriously tasted fresh and was so soft and doughy, so deliciously addictive. Even one friend, who does not like carbs, thought the bread rolls were amazing too. As for the oysters, they were fried, which surprised me a bit, as I was not expecting then to be fried. They were okay. Pretty unique taste and not bad at all, but I would've preferred raw or cooked (not fried) oysters. The sauteed spinach was rather too salty for me, but potato wedges were good. I tried a friend's crab balls, and they were too dry - no crab taste, just mostly crumbly bread meal taste. Another friend got a platter with red snapper and shrimps; the red snapper was cooked well, but I've always thought it to be rather tasteless for me, and the shrimps (fried) were good. This shop gave more than 4 pieces of seafood, which was the standard number for most of the seafood on the menu (one friend ordered 4 crab balls but got 5, I ordered 4 oysters and got 5, another person ordered 4 shrimps and got 6)! Nice! Portions (and the extra freebies) were very reasonable for the prices. It may be a good idea to split the seafood platter with another person... It was an incredibly filling meal that I could barely finish (and I'm typically a very hungry female athlete).

The fried shrimp was delicious and fresh! The amount for the price was really good too. Im not sure why the other reviews here were bad. Good overall experience! Service was really fast. Recommend mixing the hot sauce with the tartar sauce
