Sadly, the food was not exactly what we expected. Service was great. The risotto fritters were a delicious starter, we loved the crispy exterior and molten risotto underneath, accented perfectly with the garlic creme fraiche. Def a big yum. The beet salad we had was a pretty boring and average, sadly. The crispy Roman style artichokes were poor. Dry, not flavorful. We decided not to risk it and order dessert, so we peaced out:/

Service: 5/5. Attentive and kind.Ambiance: 4.5/5. A bit noisy from the people at the bar but otherwise nice.Food overall: 4/5 for the price. Portions were a healthy size, not too much or too little.White bean soup: 3.75/5. Needed salt. Really would've made this amazing. Otherwise a cozy, creamy, pleasant experience.Eggplant Parmesan with arugula salad: 4/5. Also needed salt. Would've been close to a 5. Otherwise nice crunch with fresh ingredients.Mushroom Wellington: 4.5/5. Probably my favorite dish of the evening. Flavorful with complimentary and interesting textures.Bacon wrapped Venison: 4.5/5. Second to the mushroom Wellington for me, though partner rated this as his favorite. Venison was tender and juicy. Puree and greens were a great compliment. Bread pudding: 4/5. Lovely presentation. Not too sweet.

I came with some girlfriends for Winter Restaurant Week and enjoyed the dinner option, 3 courses for $40. The wine pairing was pretty affordable at $20 but didn't opt in for that. I started with the octopus/polpo appetizer. Mine was very flavorful and cooked well but my friend said hers was a little chewy. We got Mac and cheese for the table; while cooked well, it was overall a miss for me.For my entree I ate the Amish chicken which was sublime and a good portion size. My friends who ordered steak said it was a small portion and was just ok. Lastly I ordered the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. It was tasty but very sweet, which may be the point haha. Our waiter also was sweet and brought me a cocktail for dessert so I could cheers with my girls. I will definitely be back!

A birthday celebration in DC! We came to DC toward the end of winter restaurant week. This is a place that you definitely want reservations for. We decided to go with the 3 courses for $40 each. We arrived early so we were seated at the bar where we enjoyed mocktails, which were beyond delicious, along with the olive spread and bread and fried artichokes. Both the bar service and table service were incredible. They were very attentive. The restaurant offers a cool vibe with the bar and televisions in one section, and the other corners providing an ambiance of romantic to friend hang out. I appreciated that the restaurant offered a variety of vegan options. It's hard to find. All of the food was incredible. A culinary experience, as the people say.

Checked out the new Equinox space for restaurant week. It's a lovely space, but a bit tight and loud. The food was still very good like at the previous space, and restaurant week is a great experience. The heart of palm cakes with ratatouille were amazing! The fish was well cooked but could have used more sauce. The toffee cake was the standout dessert. My friends also said the mushroom Wellington was awesome. The wine pairing was lovely and a good value, albeit not a legit pairing experience :) also nice mocktails here.

Fantastic upscale restaurant. The atmosphere here is very nice but also welcoming and warm. Staff are very friendly and attentive, but the food is really where they shine. There are some fish and meat products on the menu, but also a lot of plant based options. We are plant based, so I can't speak for the meat items, but the dishes we had were incredible. The risotto was amazing with a great flavor and the mushroom Wellington was one of the best things I have eaten in a long time. The lemon cake was heavenly. I would highly recommend stopping in at Equinox.

As usual, Equinox does not disappoint. It wasn't too crowded, since it was a weekday night, unlike during Sunday brunch. Their à la carte menu is great, but they also have standing five-course tasting menus (including a vegan one!) which is fun. The white bean soup and coconut panna cotta were our favorite dishes. The cocktail menu is great too, including some creative mocktails. We went to celebrate an anniversary and noted it in our reservation, and the staff thoughtfully offered us complimentary beverages and added something special to our dessert. Always a nice touch! Just a thoughtful and elegant experience overall.

Meh. Really amazing staff, but not a fan of the food. ~ Artichoke appetizer sounded interesting, but I didn't care for the friend version with a runny aioli. ~ Others seemed to like the risotto fritters- they were creamy, but were just I thought the deep fried balls were just ok. ~ Focaccia was soft, not grilled, and the combo of sweet ricotta and pickled veg just didn't seem to go together for me. ~ Arugula salad with figs was my fave dish of the night~ Halibut is beautifully presented, but the fish was under-salted for my taste, there were only a few teeny pieces of lobster, I didn't see any scallops.
