I stupidly went here the day before departing for a cruise which basically ruined my dining experience for the next week. All jokes aside, this was an inventive, and more important, fantastic meal. I've been to several acclaimed high-end vegan establishments and this one hangs with the best of them. The meal took a little over 2 hours. Every dish was explained, presented nicely and there was just a wonderful array of textures, temperatures, tastes and smells. Most dishes were plated distinctly as well which was a nice touch. I also had the best mocktail I've ever tried. Actually worth the price in my opinion. The interior and exterior of the building is elegant. Service is excellent. I consider the whole experience to be very thoughtful. On the only neutral note, I will say I'm not one to dress up and even wearing a collared shirt I still felt a bit dressed down. I was also not a huge fan of the current entree dish which is a large mushroom ravioli. I didn't take a picture of it either as it doesn't present the best. It was good though. All in all I'm definitely interested in returning when there's a fresh menu!

My boyfriend surprised me with reservations here in July, and this place makes you feel like a VIP for sure. Walked on, pleasantly greeted by the hostess, we decided to have one pree dinner drink at the bar, which they politely carried to our table on a tray so.we could finish at dinner. The food and presentation were A1! They were do coordinated with placing plates on the table, and just the whole routine. The food is damn good...we are both plant eaters, and food lovers for sure, these meals had quality flavor...there were times where we had to tell ourselves (and each other) to slow down but it was just good! And we left full! I know these pics aren't the greatest, but tbh, this is such an experience, that you just don't want to be bothered with your phone. The staf are personable (they call you by your name and welcome you as if the tablecloth was brought just for you). I highly recommend a visit.

Everything about our evening was amazing! The physical restaurant lends to quiet intimacy, loved the actual building! The service was exceptional, all servers and staff were friendly, and clearly loved their job and the food! Every dish we had was decadent! The servers described each dish with great detail which added to our enjoyment. Highly recommend!!!

This is a very nice restaurant, a lovely dining experience, I'm not a vegan but the food was delicious and you don't need to be vegan to enjoy the experience. The staff was amazing, very knowledgeable when explaining what they are about to serve you. The artwork on the walls are beautiful! I always like to see the bathroom and they were on point too! I highly recommend this place, it's perfect for a date night or any special occasion. My favorite plate was the caviar!Elizabeth you know what you're doing girl!

More than just dinner, truly a vegan experience. Each course is served separately and comes with in depth explanation of all the fine ingredients that make it up. The ingredients come from far and wide to make some truly impressive and tasty dishes. The mocktail brought the whole meal together with a strong fruity flavor. The restaurant was well decorated from head to toe in an old English theme with classy and quiet vibes. If your looking for a vegan experience this is the place!

For a vegan tasting menu, this has exceeded my expectations. What an experience! The ambiance was very cozy and romantic, the staff was attentive, and my partner and I spent 3 hours doing the tasting menu+wine pairing, which flew by with good conversation and food. I have included pictures of of some of the dishes, but we turned the menu upside down to keep the excitement high when the staff explained what our meals would be. I HIGHLY recommend avoiding the photos and letting yourself fully experience the surprises! We started off with the optional cheese plate, since we rarely get opportunities to order vegan cheese plates. The middle cheese was our least favorite, but the other two cheeses and peach jam were delicious and tasted very fresh. We did not regret getting it!Some of my favorites were the Roasted Cauliflower Soup (unique flavor) and Charred Avocado Mezzaluna (rich umami/meaty flavor). We also appreciated that they brought out a crispy appetizer that was not on the menu to hold us over before starting the tasting menu. The wine pairing is what made us feel as though we were truly experiencing fine dining. The sommelier brought out a different drinks before each food item (sakes, wines, beers, etc.), explained the different notes within it that should be tasted with each bite. He also took us through a picturesque journey in the snow with each drink, which was a fun little addition. If it were up to me, I would have included a few more reds, but I am obviously biased. The melon beer was definitely the best drink - trust me!Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and would recommend it to anyone who was celebrating a special event. However, make sure you reserve in advance - they fill up quickly and we finally got lucky finding two seats!

I visit Washington DC a few times each year and dining at Elizabeth's is one of the highlights of my trip. It never disappoints. Elizabeth's Gone Raw is a woman owned and run business that was started as part of Elizabeth's journey to healthful and joyful living following a serious medical challenge. It is truly an oasis and provides a respite from the stresses of everyday life. We started with the vegan "caviar" which is both delicious and surprisingly similar to actual caviar. The very knowledgeable servers will explain the molecular gastronomy behind the "caviar" creation but I prefer to think it's just the magic that happens in the kitchen. In addition to the "caviar" there were six courses, all artfully plated; I enjoyed all of them immensely. My favorite though was probably the main entree which was simply bursting with flavor. I believe that some of the ingredients at Elizabeth's have been dehydrated and perhaps that is part of the reason that everything is so flavorful. We did try the wine pairing and I would highly recommend doing so. The sommelier, I believe his name is Michael, is so knowledgeable and his presence and wine selections enhance the overall experience. We had such a wonderful time that we stopped in the next evening for a drink and some kale chips ( the best I have ever had) before our dinner reservations at another of my favorite DC restaurants. Simply a wonderful gastronomical experience in a beautiful peaceful setting.

We were greated by Elizabeth, the lovely proprietress, who engaged with us about veganism as she mopped up snow drips from the floor while apologizing. The food was complex, the dining room serene, the server --Spencer-- knowledge, considerate, and accommodating. My favorites from the tasting menu were the faux lox --I don't like real lox and this was a spicy treat--and the squash soup. They make delightful cocktails. I had dandelion tea for the first time that tastes like coffee (and no caffeine!)and had a surprisingly decadent and refreshing pistachio cream. The menu changes every 2 1/2 months. The food is so rich and complicated that I can't see going back more often than that anyway. I was celebrating a book deal, and it was the perfect place to do that. Thanks to all!

The environment couldn't be warmer in this three-story converted brownstone with the restaurant taking up the first two floors and I'm assuming the owners quarters are on the third floor. We were greeted by Elizabeth who introduced us to our table and server. The food at this vegan restaurant is exquisite, and the menu is exceptionally well designed. Each course built up and created an excitement for what I expected to be the final main course which was described on the menu as a red wine, braised trumpet mushroom dish with sauce and a compliments. I was so looking forward to seeing Mushrooms hole in pieces in my plate and was so disappointed when what arrived was a mushroom ravioli or the parlance of Elizabeth's a raviola. How disappointing to bite into the average pasta and stuffing that certainly did not reflect the beauty of the cooking in the other courses that we had. So the finale was very very disappointing. And then the bill came, which was exceedingly expensive. Had it not been for that Exorbitant cost I might've considered going back. All in all big errors.

Festive meal to celebrate my daughters birthday. Tasting menu was great and we added the vegan caviar to start - it was delicious. The melon sorbet with volcanic salt was sublime. Delicious nonalcoholic drink options.
