We visited on a Sunday, just before 2pm.After entering, we were quickly greeted and offered a choice of tables. The dining area is very clean and well maintained. There is a combination of semi-formal decor with a casual atmosphere. We ordered beverages, and an appetizer. My spouse brought a small bottle of mineral water, the waiter had no problem bring a glass of ice.The menu was not too busy, limited to a number of excellent choices, allowing us to focus and make good decisions. We also ordered entrees, one each.Without going into specifics: the food was all fresh looking and tasting. Everything was nicely seasoned. Based on quality and quantity, we felt we received very good value for what we paid. The waiter was attentive without intruding. We enjoyed our meal and will patronize this restaurant again.

Needed a bite after an errand nearly, and liked the reviews. It'kiinda tucked away in the ground floor of a mixed use building. I couldn't see it from where Waze took me. I didn't see any lots or garage, but there was a spot on the street, and amazingly after all these years I remembered how to parallel park. Cozy interior with (?) Egyptian murals. I sat at the bar to save the server steps. Got the gyro lunch. The avgolemono soup was OK, didn't really taste either the lemon or garlic. The gyro was complex and subtle, unlike the more assertive flavors I have had at Yia Yia's. Not to day better or worse, just different. The salad was classic, with capers and kalamata olives. The fries were a highlight, perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle, and nicely seasoned. No ketchup needed! Very cordial service, limited selection of alcoholic beverages, tasty food. Might have gotten 5 stars if I had tried one of the specialties, but 4 for good food at a reasonable price.

We hiked sugarloaf and stopped in here midday on our way home. So glad we did. It's a small casual restaurant. Very nice bar, staff, and the owner was very personable. He stopped in regularly to make sure everything was good and we were happy. We ordered the avgolemono soup to start. The broth was really good with just the right touch of lemon. My only wish so for more of the veggies, chicken, and rice. We may have got the bottom of the pot on this hot day which is understandable. For an appetizer we ordered the octopus appetizer based on other reviews. The octopus was tender and perfectly cooked. The hummus, balsamic reduction, and other flavors they incorporated were so delicious. Not to mention, the plate is just beautiful. We ordered a special of flounder with peppers, onions, capers, tomatoes, rice, and tomato sauce. So good and flavorful. The real star was the gyro special made up of lamb and beef gyro meat, tzatziki, Greek salad, and fries. Wow. That gyro meat has to be the best I've had. We have ordered from a few places in our area, and this is by far the best. The meat is so flavorful and the pita is well seasoned as well. Everything was so good. Very highly recommend trying it if you haven't already. Solid choice.

The lamb was very tasty with the tzatziki sauce! The prices are decent price and the food came out very quick. Our waiter Wello was very nice and gave us a complimentary orange blossom cake since it was our first time coming. The interior was decorated very nicely and clean! I definitely recommend this spot in the Gaithersburg area.

Looking for a nice place to grab a bite on a Sunday evening is not an easy task. But, Ela Mesa Taste of Greece was open and packed with people. They have outside and inside dining areas. The inside of the restaurant was beautiful. It is decorated with beautiful murals and lovely dark woods. I was surprised that they had live music that was playing. That was very nice. We got settled and ordered the saganaki or flaming cheese as our appetizer. It was very good. Then, my friend ordered the chicken kabob platter and I ordered the large Greek salad. I will give them kudos for serving pita bread with an olive tamponade. That was a very nice touch. There was a large party of teenagers celebrating a birthday on one side of the restaurant. I am assuming that is why it took about 45 minutes to get our dinners. Luckily, we had a lot to catch up on, but that is why I deducted one star. The food was delicious. I really enjoyed my salad with feta cheese, capers, cucumbers, and tomatoes. I had plenty to take home for the next day. My friend enjoyed her chicken kabob and they served a generous portion. Service was excellent. It wasn't the servers fault that the kitchen was slammed. He was cheerful and felt badly. We ended our meal with an orange honey cake that was sweet and tasty. I would come back, just for the cake. It was delicious. I will also say that the acoustics are not the greatest. The sound from the teenagers reverberated around the room. But, we had good service, good food, and I would definitely go back for more.

Met friends here for a quiet lunch. Service was spot on! Very attentive to our needs. We were the only ones in the restaurant until we finished lunch then a large party of ladies came in changing the volume of the restaurant dramatically. Food was good. The Avo Lemon Soup is not to miss! Gyros were filled with meat, could have had more taziki sauce but I didn't ask. Definitely will try again!

We love Ela Mesa Taste of Greece! The food is amazing! Service is friendly and attentive. It is now our favorite restaurant in the area. We celebrated my birthday here on February 1st. The salmon was delicious- cooked to perfection! Loved the lemon potatoes and grilled vegetables. Baklava was divine, as always! Our server, Wellington was the best! He checked in frequently with a smile and made wonderful suggestions! We love the atmosphere, cozy, yet sophisticated, with lovely artistic touches. You feel as if you are dining in Greece! Highly recommend!

Amazing food, great service. One of the best gyros I've had, and the avgolemno soup was fantastic. Spanokopita was also delicious. Will definitely be back, highly recommended.
