La famosa carne asada. You can't go to a Nica spot and not ask for this. Los maduros, como siempre, separados.

Cacao drink. Not the best and watered down. I am from Nicaragua and it doesn't not take like my country at all.

I came here after reading in The Washington Post that it's one of the best bargain food spots in the DMV. Unfortunately, I must respectfully disagree. The portions are pretty big, but considering the price, it's definitely not the best bargain in the area.Carne Asada de Res ($22) - Carne Asada, rice & beans, tostadas, and fried cheese. The beef was way overcooked--burnt and tough--which's a shame because it's otherwise flavorful. Overcooking the star of the dish like this just doesn't work. On the other hand, the rice and beans were amazing - easily the best I've ever had.Overall, it's nothing special. While the rice & beans were spectacular, it's disappointing that they were also the best part of the dish. That said, the servers were absolutely lovely - extremely friendly and even offered us samples of the drinks.

I was in the DC area and was pleasantly surprised to find this Nicaraguan delight! Food was pretty good, service was super friendly and the place, although quaint, was very clean and vibrantly decorated with Nica touches!

UPDATE: Still fire , love this place and its authentic Nicaraguan food. Tried a few more things today and will definitely be going back. At 10$ the quesillo is a little pricy but it's my favorite thing on the menu Also had the enchilada which was delicious

Carne asada de res was good. Although tostones and tajadas were previously made hours before. Staff super friendly. Place keeps full every time I go. Amazing food, Pitaya is a great beverage.

Hasta que al fin!I've spent three years pining for Nicaraguan food in the DMV and I've finally found it. This hits the spot. Don't be discouraged by the hidden location and shared spot. Once you try Fritanga, you'll never go back.

Customer service was good. Food and atmosphere was not the best. Gallo pinto was just sitting there and not covered the way it should be. It was served cold. I will not be back. Too expensive for what this taste like BUT the milca was delicious.

No comparison to Miami. My husband is from Nicaragua and even he didn't like the food. Too expensive for the small plate of food. Carne asada tasted like fish and they don't sell seafood at all. I didnt eat it just in case it was spoiled. Customer service was good and no complaints there. Atmosphere... well its small in the establishment so you really can't say anything about that. Meh... would not be back

These comments are making me want to revoke people's Nicaraguan card. The food is blah & expensive AF! I literally gave this place a second chance a year later and it was just as bad as the first time. The DMV only has 2 Nicaraguan restaurants that I've seen on google maps and I must say Eda's Latin food in manassas is better than this place but still mid. Since they don't have competition, it feels like they don't try. If you want authentic Nicaraguan food just book that flight to Miami.

Live the food and atmosphere. Feels like I am back home, quesillos, cacao, Nacatamales, tacos and everything else that they serve here. Sometimes is crowded but service is super fast! I've been here and will continue to come back
