Eighteenth Street Lounge

Across the street from the Convention Center MetroWe stopped in on a late Sunday. The DJ was to arrive by 10pm but we left long before thenWe didn't stay long. Bartendar was nice. Place looked clean, cozy. There's also an outdoor patioI would check it out another time

A signature Washington lounge, where famous music groups Thievery Corporation and Fort Knox Five Started out. ESL's Music Label is SolidOn Ocassion big Names in New Disco,House and Techno come to this Club: Dave Lee, DubFire, Ultra Nate, Tony Humphries, Dj Harvey, Jay Kay from Jamiroquai New Location is smaller. I Loved The Bartenders at the Old Lounge. Good People and Great Mixologists. But the new Lounge has a Kitchen and Small Plates. Like so many other clubs and lounges around the world that have been operating for 28-35 years the ambiance and social scene differs some depending on the night

We hosted my husband's birthday party here, and we had a great time. Farid was very helpful with the event planning. We ordered catering and brought our own cake and desserts. They provided tables for us to set up. Everything looked really nice! The party was a great success. Everyone had fun! The drinks were awesome. Wes was a great bartender! I'm very thankful for all the ESL staff that helped make the party possible. The late night dance floor and DJ set made for a perfect end to the night!

Great vibes, drinks, and space. Will definitely keep coming back but unfortunately several times I've ordered a simple drink like an old fashioned (just specifying rye) the bartenders use a top shelf option only for me to find out later when closing my tab. Guess I'll have to ask if there's an upcharge when I order in the future--not usually a problem at other bars I visit.

Love this bar. Great crowd to be a part of if you want to hit a DC bar, you're in your 30s and don't want to feel like a chaperone. Big fan of the music - rap, R&B. The drink list is fairly small but you're coming here for the fun vibes, not for a craft drink

What a vibe! Came here on my birthday with a group of ~10. We arrived around midnight, and the top floor was packed and everybody was dancing to a variety of instrumental house, R&B, and Latin music. To find space for our group, we moved downstairs where there was also a dance floor and bar. Music was mainstream but it was fun and the DJ knew what he was doing. We moved back upstairs later and the music was still choice. There's plenty of coat hooks and a coat rack, and water stands so I felt comfy. It wasn't too busy by 1am, so there was space to move. Only downside is that the patio was closed.

I stumbled on this place and at the end of my visit, I realized that this was the historic Eighteen Street Lounge. The atmosphere is amazing! Service is exceptional! I am making this place a regular place on my list. Great DJ and music. I also ran into Jordan who turned out to be the brains behind the build up of this beautiful lounge. She's extremely welcoming, sincere, and friendly. I highly recommend ESL, must visit.
