Tasty dumplings in food hall. Loved the chicken bao buns! Heading there next time I go to a caps game.

We stopped at the Dumpling District located in Chinatown inside Luna Hall late at night for a snack. The security guard for Luna Hall warmly greeted us and explained to us the setup of Luna Hall and what was available to us. The front area of Luna Hall was a bar/club and the second half was a food court with a few places to select from. Dumpling District was located at the very end and was one of the few places there that still offered food an hour before Luna Hall was closing. We ordered the Rainbow Soup Dumplings which was their soup dumpling sampler that consisted of one of each flavor that they serve. The six dumpling flavors were pork, chicken, mala, crab meat and pork, shrimp and zucchini, and black truffle. The order took a little of time to receive but they seemed to be steamed to order as they came out very hot. Everything was pretty good. The dumplings were flavorful and pretty tasty. The crab meat and pork was my favorite. I want to mention that the Mala was a little spicy which was not indicated on the menu for those of you that are not a fan of spicy foods.Overall, the dumplings were pretty good for a late night quick stop eatery.

I found two different places with rainbow soup dumplings while in the city recently. I did end up getting an order from both across my trip, and Dumpling Districts was the winner in my opinion. The food hall itself wasn't my favorite place because it smelled like smoke. Thankfully I wasn't inside for too long, since I had ordered online beforehand. But the person at the bar that I passed as I walked in was super friendly and the Dumpling District staff were nice as well. Most of the soup dumplings were pretty standard--delicious though! My favorites were the mala and black truffle soup dumplings. Incredible flavor. The black vinegar was also a bit sweet, which I much prefer over straight black vinegar. It was a great accompaniment to the dumplings.

Great spot for some tasty food. Not fancy but very good. Quick service. You order from the screens. There is a full service bar and several food choices. There is a common area with comfortable seating and a downstairs dining area as well. Give it a try

This is inside Luna hall. A food hall in Chinatown. It's quite small and empty. It's actually really cold in here. The bathroom is dirty and smelly. The dumplings were not the best and this is basing off of ding tai fung being the best. The dough didn't taste fresh. It was soupy but I've rainbow specialty dumpling and it doesn't come close to it. The only one I really liked is pork. I wouldn't come here.

Found dumpling district while out walking around DC area, it's in Luna Food Hall. I ordered the Pork Soup Dumplings (7/10) they were pretty good but really lacked in seasoning honestly. I also tried their Stir-fry Noodles (6/10), again, lacked in seasoning. I had to rely heavily on the sauces they provided to really get an actual good flavor with the food. Though the food wasn't amazing, I would def try them again and I appreciated not having a really long wait for my order also. My overall rate of experience : 6.5/10

Small shop in a modern food hall - a little tucked away but convenient especially if you're with a group that wants to try different dishes. There's also a Kung Fu Tea right next to it which is nice for your boba fix.We tried the soup dumplings, spicy pork dumplings, and Shanghai shumai which were all delicious - the shumai were my fave but definitely recommend the soup dumpling sampler to try all the flavors. The stir fry noodles were underwhelming and heaving on the onion so I'd stick to the dumplings. You can order at the counter or at a self-serve kiosk and then pick up your order when your name is called. Plenty of seating and fairly clean dining area although the bathrooms were in rough shape.

Dumpling District was the most appealing eatery at Luna Hall the day I visited. I ordered the noodle bowl with mushrooms and the scallion pancake. My food came out fairly quickly, but you have to be alert to get your food when the order is ready. It's placed on a counter, not brought to your table. The noodles and scallion pancake were EXCELLENT! Well prepared and very filling...too much food for one sitting, but I ate it all anyway.Would definitely return again.

This dumpling-centric stall is part of a small Asian food court located in what was DC's Chinatown. As it is a food court stall, service is no nonsense but efficient. The pork soup dumplings were good: a thin skin that was strong enough to maintain its structural integrity with a nicely balanced filling. I was a bit disappointed, however, by the broth, which had a good flavor but wasn't very rich. The pork, shrimp & chive dumplings, however, were very disappointing. They were doughy and thick, and the filling was not fully heated. The flavors just didn't meld. And rather than serve the dumplings with the appropriate sauces for dipping, a single overly sweet vinegar-based sauce was provided. The bottom line is that there are better dumpling options, and for nearly $40 with a drink, this was not a meal offering any value.
