My friends and I came to Duke's Grocery for Dreamland, a Narnia-inspired bar. I enjoyed entering through the wardrobe. I liked how there was fake snow and glitter on the ground. They had the Narnia movie playing the TVs at the bar. However, I disliked the rap music they were playing. All of their cocktails, whether fire or ice, were $15 each. Each of us had two cocktails and a shot. Gabe enjoyed an Espresso Martini and Cair Paravel. Nicole enjoyed the Always Winter Never Christmas (which reminded her of a Black Manhattan) and Espresso Martini. Between the two cocktails (Cair Paravel and Spare Oom) I tried, I felt the Cair Paravel was more interesting. It consisted of New Amsterdam Gin, Cranberry, Ginger Chili, Lime, and Soda Water. It was spicy, fruity, and quite refreshing. Aslan's Roar shot consisted of Ropeadope Cinnamon Whiskey, Apple Liqueur, Lemon, and Cinnamon. It didn't burn as much as Fireball but was more cinnamon forward. For food, we shared Candied Bacon Deviled Eggs, Chorizo Fries, and Turkish Delights. The Candied Bacon Deviled Eggs consisted of four deviled eggs topped with brown sugar and cayenne candied bacon and chives. They weren't as good as I remembered when I had them at The Best of Washingtonian Event. The Chorizo Fries consisted of thick cut fries, chorizo, and melted cheese served in an iron skillet. It was absolutely delicious. The Turkish Delights were light, dusted in powdered sugar, contained no nuts, and resembled mochi.

The mixed reviews SCARED me! 80% of them are accurate. However, I had a BOMB meal and drink! I ordered the Wagyu burger with fries and I had an espresso martini. All 10/10. I was afraid because when I ordered it, my waitress said there are 2 options for the burger: medium rare or well done......????? I felt INSANE ordering a well done wagyu burger but it did not give "well done" at all. IT WAS DELICIOUS! And my espresso martini and strong and delicious. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the hot wings and deviled eggs as an appetizer to share with my sister. Wings 0/10. They are gummy The deviled eggs are eggs...... What initially drew me to Dukes was the Narnia holiday pop up decor. It was a cute vibe but not as advertised in other videos and reviews. A good angle and color editing can make anything look amazing! But it is a cute, fun lil vibe. Just manage your expectations but I will say I wouldn't mind going back for a good burger and drink.

Planned for a girls' holiday get together--holiday drinks and decor! We came for the Narnia inspired holiday experience. Since reviews left much to be desired, I had my fingers crossed. Great service (thanks, India!), good food (fried chicken sandwich on brioche was delish) even though I was disappointed that we missed brunch on a Sunday, good drinks; all in all we had good time. I'll def have to come back to check out brunch. The holiday pop up experience left a bit to be desired. We didn't walk through a wardrobe (not sure if that's practical for all patrons) but that's what we saw online and it seemed magical. It wasn't magical, but festive and prob shouldn't have been touted as a holiday experience. Don't believe everything you see online folks! I guess the influencers got the real experience.

Went to the Narnia pop up and had so much fun! Great selection of special theme drinks and huge menu, we split a lot of food. Fish and chips came with 4 traditional sauces, and the sweet potato fries came with a delicious honey mustard ish sauce. Our drinks were super fun and the staff were very attentive and friendly! Loud music, kind of hard to talk at a table but still very fun!

We went for the narnia themed holiday bar. The decorations were underwhelming and the service was terribly slow. The holiday drink was tasty but we didn't stay long due to the slow service.

Dukes Grocery is in a busy location. We stopped in Justin was bartending. He did a great job covering the whole bar. We got a smash burger and it was pretty good. I would definitely go back.

My friends and i stopped by here for the Narnia pop up which was very underwhelming but would've been okay if not for the terribly slow service. We sat at our table for a good 10-15 minutes without being acknowledged even though there were barely people there. I also couldn't really distinguish who was an employee to ask for assistance, people seemed to be walking around everywhere. The drinks were meh so we left before being able to try the food.

Started out not too great. We reserved our door seating. But heating elements were not available. We had to wait a while to get our order in. We decided to maintain our outdoor seating, bc it was WAY TOO loud. March madness game was playingMykea ended up taking over as our server and our experience changed from: us getting ready to walk out bc we were waiting for a long time for a waiter to comeOut and get our order. BUTMykea taking charge and taking care of us. We stuck around and we were very lucky for it. The food was VERY good. The bottomless mimosas/bloody Mary's and/or beers for a set fee was ideal. Mykea make sure our drinks were ready and available and even allows us Inside when it was too cold. Our original waiter said the heating devices could not be turned on. Which I am not sure how true that is. But Mykea allowed us to move inside and finish out drinks. Food was very good! Higher quality than expected. There is a 90min limit. But as an amazing server, Mykea did not rush us and made sure we were taken care of. This was potentially going to be a bad review, but turned around thanks to Mykea. I hope management understands the high caliber of an employee they have. brunch is fun and tasty. I will be back for tea time. Location is good. navy yard is very easy to get to via metro.

Food was good. Server Monica was amazing. We came in to watch the football game and it all started out fine but then someone started playing music on top of the football game volume and 2 sounds were going at once. Then they turned the music volume up to club level which made it very unbearable to stay and finish the game. And my party spent well over $600 ...i doubt we'll be back

Came for a friends birthday, our waiter was SO RUDE! When we got there he said that we could wait for the rest of our party to start our 90 min bottomless brunch, but then when we went to pay he cut us all off even though we waited for the whole party to get here to order (like he said). He started yelling at us even though we were just asking a question about the timing, because he told us one thing in the beginning and then another when we went to pay. He just kind of ruined our experience, but then once we asked to talk to other waiters to help (because our waiter, J, just left) they helped us and gave us some complimentary mimosas. Gabriel and Monica were really helpful and we really appreciate them. Overall the place was great, our waiter (J) just ruined our experience.
