Not sure why this place isn't rated higher; I was very impressed by the food and service!Stopped in while partaking in the DC Holiday Hunt. Was greeted by a very polite clerk and older woman who helped me find a "hidden code" in for points in the hunt. I then ordered a black bean smash and avocado sandwich for lunch, which was very scrumptious, well-spiced and quite reasonably priced as well! The menus are in both English and Spanish, and I heard the staff conversing with customers in both languages, which makes sense given the neighborhood is at the epicenter of DC's Hispanic community, so bonus points for knowing the location's demographics.All-and-all, a very positive lunchtime experience at a very underrated Mt. Pleasant establishment.

Such a cute cafe and very reasonably priced too! The atmosphere gives a very local and family owned business vibe. There's both indoor and outdoor seating and everyone was so friendly. You order at the front and your food is brought to your table when it's ready. I got the breakfast burrito especial and a berries banana smoothie. For under $10 my burrito was large and made fresh. It had plantains, lentils and jalapeños with a delicious sauce on top. So good and very unique. My smoothie was delicious as well and so filling. Overall I love this spot and definitely want to come back!

Solid 4 stars. Cute interior. Menu in Spanish and English. Relatively fast service. Complimentary water. Decent food and portions. The table could've been a little cleaner as there were bugs flying around... but other than that an enjoyable spot for brunch. I ordered a breakfast burrito and it was quite confusing how they described it vs what was on the menu. I just gave them full control to make me a mystery burrito as long as it had ground beef as I was not in the mindset to cross reference the menu and what they were saying. It was really good-- they gave me onions, tomatoes, spinach, and I think lettuce and salsa? Again it was a mystery burrito LOL If I'm in the area I would definitely try again! Would recommend for a cute brunch spot but keep in mind the lack of outdoor seating and few large seating inside too.

My favorite morning coffee and lunch spot in Mt. P. I recommend the Primo Avocado Classico sandwich. The owner Alex is awesome and they keep it affordable for the neighborhood (espresso here is $2 and up the street it's $5). Love Dos Gringos, this is a neighborhood staple and great to sit out on the porch and chill.

A good cafe. Dos Gringos is street Mexican and more style food. It has a very casual feel inside. Good flavors. They're vegan friendly as well. Has a good variety of food. It may be Mexican owned, but there's lots to choose from. They have many vegan friendly items. A good one is the Hummus Kale And Beet Sandwich. It's $5 and comes filled with these. They have vegan desserts too. A good one is the brownie. This isn't bland like many vegan desserts can be like. It may be unassuming but this is one of the best cafes. Only has a few tables outdoors. The place usually isn't that busy though.

Just got an iced latte and iced chai, they were fine but a bit thin. Atmosphere is lovely; dos gringos is a homey neighborhood gathering place with efforts for sustainable practices and they also offer language exchange nights if you want to learn Spanish. Not a place to study/work as they discourage phone use inside the cafe.

Walking through the neighborhood on a Sunday morning and grabbed a coffee and a breakfast burrito. Liked the inside, though small, has a pleasant coffee house feel. Because of the table that was in middle, limited seating inside, but you can sit outside. Really enjoyed the coffee and the burrito was decent. Hope to come back here again and try the other menu items.

We popped in for a quick bite on Saturday morning and, while Dos Gringos was busy, we had no issue getting a table. Their front porch is really nice outdoor seating which allows you to sit a little ways away from the street/sidewalk but they've got plenty of tables at street level and indoors too. The coffee was good and a generous portion for a cheap price. We started with the bread pudding and bagel chip nachos. The bagel chip nachos were fun and flavorful and the bread pudding portion was significant, but could've been slightly sweeter in my opinion. For my entree, I got an egg sandwich on a bagel. It was a lot of food for the price, but pretty under seasoned. It definitely was missing some salt. But largely, we were very pleased and look forward to coming back.
