Had a drink here for happy hour and Luis and Maycol was exceptional bartenders! Super friendly and made an amazing sangria! I also made friends with Stu! She was so very sweet!! This speakeasy bar is cozy, intimate and sophisticated!

Cute spot I stumbled on in Georgetown. I love that they have happy hour on the weekends! My old fashioned was delicious and unique. I will come back to dine in and try the food! The service was also great as well. The manager walked us around the restaurant and showed us the space. I can't wait to visit again!

Came here for restaurant week after really liking the menu options and were very disappointed in the vibe of the restaurant. The music is insanely loud to the point where you need to yell to have a conversation. The service was incredibly slow. It took us 45 min to get apps. And sitting here an hour and 20 minutes into our reservation we are still waiting for the main course. Just generally not an enjoyable date night experience unless you're looking to have a Miami club experience with your dinner. Also the cocktails we ordered were not good and the food we've had so far was just ok. Highly recommend you go anywhere else.

I only stopped in for a drink because I was waiting for someone but I'm definitely going to come back for a meal. I love places like this; small, experience oriented, care for their craft. I only had a drink so I hesitate to give five stars but I'm really looking forward to a meal here. The bartender (Brandon I think) was very helpful at directing me to a cocktail that would match the flavor profile I was looking for. I really enjoy a Smokey old fashioned and he suggested the "The less I know the better". Great suggestion. It comes smoked and is mildly sweet forward with a slight coffee taste in the back. Paired with the Smokey bourbon flavor it is a delicious take on the classic. I went on a Wednesday night and was lucky to enjoy some live music (only Wednesdays and sometimes Saturdays). The vibe was relaxed, chill, and intimate. They have a main bar, a lounge, an outdoor seating, and a small restaurant. Perfect for date night, a small group, or to dine single and meet people.

Wow what a pleasant surprise! Even though this place felt more like a lounge (and maybe better known as a lounge?), their food and service were top notch! Our night started a little rocky: my husband wore flip flops so we were informed we need to sit outside (watch out for those dress codes!!). Well we all know how DC summers can be--hot, humid, and BUGS all over. I wasn't anticipating sitting outside so I was not prepared at all and started getting bitten. I then asked our waitress if they had bug spray. They did so I used it. The table next to us was having the same issue so they spoke with the waitress about sitting inside (esp since there was no one else dining inside at the time) so they moved inside. By now my husband was sweating (in addition to me getting bitten) so we also asked to sit inside and they agreed without hesitation. Very accommodating which I really appreciated! Now onto the dinner experience. We tried the chambongs which was fun! All the food we had were high quality and delicious too. Our waitress was also extremely attentive and friendly which totally made this experience A+.The only recommendation I would give would be that for summer time, if people need to be seated outside, then maybe consider getting fans to keep cool and bug repellent so bugs stay away. But overall, fantastic dining experience and would definitely come back.

Had a chance to come to Donahue for a date night with my wife on a Saturday evening. The venue itself is pretty interesting. The first section is a long dark bar before opening up into a lounge like dining room with an outdoor patio attached. Originally we were seated in the outdoor patio, which while lovely, was riddled with mosquitos. After a few bites we asked to be moved inside to finish our dining experience. The meal itself was very good. Better than expected (not that we expected it to be bad, but rather it exceeded expectations). The service was also incredible. Our waitress checked in multiple times and gave remarkable recommendations on the dishes along with a complimentary ChamBong shot. The tapas were all pretty good but the skirt steak and the burrata were definitely the stand outs. The burrata was creamy and the accompaniments were so light and refreshing. The bone marrow butter added a nice bite to the skirt steak. The desserts were also a very good too off to end what was already a delicious dinner. We will definitely be back to try out other things but Donahue definitely did not disappoint.

I came here last night for an event and I wasn't impressed with the service at all. It took forever to get a drink whether you were being served at the bar or by the servers. Lots of people were left without drinks, food ended up at the wrong table, it took me forever to get bar service, some of the staff were kind of dicks, etc. The back area is a cool setting but the bar area is dull. I would never come here just for the sake of it, only for events.

Honestly I'm pretty disappointed with my experience at Donahue. My group and I decided on doing the 3 course sunset dinner menu and the seafood tower. The first course appetizer didn't come out for 1.5 hours!!! The dinner in total ended up being 3 hours which is ridiculous. The New Bedford scallop entree was underwhelming. Delicious but very small (4 scallops the size of a quarter and a handful of roasted veggies). I also had to wait for 2 hours to receive this. This entree was significantly smaller than the pan seared ribeye (other entree option on the sunset menu).Lastly, there wasn't great communication between the waiter and our table. We made the restaurant aware of several allergies of a member of our party. The kitchen decided to omit several items that we ordered without letting us know. There was a misunderstanding of the limitations of the allergy however, I felt it was unacceptable for them to simply cancel several items without clarifying with us first. Maybe my group would have had a different experience if we came here strictly for drinks and small plates because we loved the luxurious ambiance! But the overall experience was disappointing and wayyyy too long

I haven't had an experience like this one in awhile. I'm gonna call it "luxurious". That's the vibe you get from the moment you walk in the door. It really is an experience. We stopped in after having been told by our waiter from dinner to check this place out. We decided to see what it was all about. When we first got to the door there was a gentleman outside who lets you in. From there you walk down a flight of stairs into this modern/chic/sexy bar area. We had already eaten so we just wanted to sit at the bar and grab drinks. We were able to grab two seats at the bar. Shortly after 9:30pm people started trickling in. When we left around 10:30p/11p it was party time. Drink menu has a wide variety of handcrafted cocktails ranging from $15-$55. The $55 cocktail is a martini with caviar and truffle infused vodka. Opted not to try that one, but def will on a special occasion. The two cocktails that we went with were very enjoyable. It was great to see the level of detail put into making the drinks. We ordered the Bay of Bengal (cognac based) and the Mirage (tequila based). Both were well worth the $16. On top of our cocktails we indulged in the Chambong...a shot of champagne in these cool uniquely shaped glasses (see pic). Those were fun!!Because we can't help ourselves we grabbed a couple of small bites. Went with 1/2 dozen of oysters and the Burrata. Both were good choices and a nice size to share between 2 people. Super excited to have discovered this local newly opened gem. They've only been open for a little over a year. I will def make this a go-to spot when out in Georgetown.
