4.5 stars, rounding up for consistency with other reviews of Uyghur places. If you like chewy, thick noodles, this is a wonderful place to go. The noodles taste freshly made, and I've been to enough Uyghur restaurants that I know this is as good as you'll get in NYC or the former USSR. They also use fresh vegetables, which is nice.I did find the sauce to be a bit overwhelmingly salty, and I might note that this food isn't _better_ than at other good Uyghur restaurants in other cities. But I'd absolutely get off the red line for it again.

Dolan serves typical Uyghur and Central Asian food. It is a casual and cozy two level spot. Service is friendly but slow and haphazard, so genuine if you are accustomed to dining in Tajikistan. The highpoints were the Uyghur salad and the Uyghur tea. The salad looks very simple and uninteresting, but looks are deceiving: it is composed of veggies and dried goat cheese with a complex range of flavors...I could have eaten more. The samsa was also a tasty bundle of chopped meat, lightly seasoned and enveloped in a nice pastry. Sadlybthe layman was a big disappointment: the homemade hand-pulled noodles were ok, but the sauce strange and astringent while simultaneously sickly sweet. A day later I am grossed out. The kebabs looked OK, but unfortunately we did not order them.

What a wonderful spot. Already planning to bring my mom here when she's in town next month!I've never had Uyghur cuisine. Everything I tried was wonderful -- from the fried green beans and the lamb Kazan to the Dolan Laghman and milk tea. The portions are healthy (I took 80% home!). Space is fairly casual with basic tables and place settings. Service was good - though you can tell they got busy towards the end.Excited to return!

Five stars yes! We came here for the first time and tried many dishes. The flavors are amazing. My favorite is the pepper steak and Uyghur salad with feta.Soak up the pepper steak with lots of rice. I almost licked my plate clean. On the way out I had the hot white chocolate drink and it was the perfect ending to a superb meal. We ate up every bite.

This was great restaurant with great food and service. We started with the samsa it was great. It the puff pastry was perfectly made. It was warm and flaky. The meat inside was perfectly seasoned. Also we got the UYGHUR SALAD it has tomato, onion, blueberry, feta, white vinegar, and sesame oil. Tasted fresh and crisp. The dressing added great flavor with acidity cut by the sweetness of the blueberries. Was a perfect appetizer. For entrees we got the MOM'S LAGHMAN and rib kebab. Both were very good laghman is noodle dish served with lamb. It was very good spicy but you can choose your spice level. I like it hot so it was perfect for me. The noodles were nice and tender. The vegetables were perfectly cooked as well as the lamb. The lamb ribs were perfectly cooked as well as being well seasoned. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. It was a nice level of spice.Inside it has nice home ambience to it.We also got their uyghur tea. It was nice and floral tasting.Overall a great experience would go back.

If you're looking for some delicious halal Uyghur cuisine this is what I would recommend! Great cozy spot and delicious food! I've visited this spot a couple times now and the food has always hit the spot. My recommendation would be the beef korma chop, and the lamb kabobs!!! Yum!!! Will definitely come back!

This place is very vibrant and I loved how they maximized the space they were given. I never had Uyghur cuisine before, but I think I'll need to come back after more research and looking at what other people have been trying. For starters, I think the spring roll didn't quite hit the mark, as there wasn't any impactful flavors in it. The Goshnan was really amazing, however. I love beef and lamb together and it's so good. Also a big fan of the Piter Manta! The house spices are truly something else. Yet, I was not a fan of the lamb and chicken kebab. I'm not sure why it didn't work for me, it tasted under seasoned and hard to chew.

When I used to live in China, there was a Uyghur restaurant in my apartment complex that I ate at all the time. This place took me back to that. The restaurant was packed when I ate here. Thankfully, they have 2 floors of seating. For as busy as the restaurant was, they definitely have a system down, because our food came out very quickly. Everything was insanely delicious. If you're in DC, you should definitely try this place.

Do not go here if you have food allergies. I told the waitress I had a gluten allergy and asked her to check to make sure the eggplant was gluten free. She just brought me the dish and I asked her if it was gf and she said no so I asked her to have it remade gluten free. She brought me a new plate. It still had gluten in it and today I'm too sick to get out of bed.The tea and atmosphere was lovely however.
