From the ambiance to the service to the food, I hereby award five bright red Yelpy stars! RUN to make a reservation here. Friends, date night, big groups, all will love the delicious food, swift service, warm ambiance, and fantastic location. Street parking only. We found plenty of spots on S Street NW. Always look for spots on the lettered streets; the numbered streets have far too few spots and always snatched up.Dined here tonight (Thursday) with a friend around 6 PM; didn't need a reservation; seated right away in the upstairs dining room. Recommendations:**Ratatouille Curry**Gluten-free, vegan, and goodness galore: in a deep bowl and complemented with white rice, the dish is super fresh, served hot with slight heat, and boasts great textures with the crunch of the onions and the soft pillowy tofu and the uneven texture of eggplant. I didn't taste whole peanuts, but I saw peanuts in the description of this item. SO SO GOOD!**Crispy Spiced Tofu**Man, the tofu was on point. Perfectly crispy, adequately spiced, and a big portion and easily shareable. I could have eaten three servings because... gluttony! Friendly server, prompt service, great vibe, and awesome all around.Definitely recommended!

Fun, vibey spot with great drinks and lively ambiance! Doi Moi blends right in with the vibrant energy of the 14th Street / Logan Circle area, with their energetic pop music, super colorful and bright decor, and fun vibes. It's the perfect spot for a happy hour or casual drink and/or dinner with a few friends. I first visited Doi Moi with an old friend for a Friday evening dinner, and we had a great time. They were really busy and crowded, so it was a little loud, but I appreciate that the service was incredibly efficient and speedy, but they also didn't make us feel rushed or unwelcome as we continued to chat after finishing our meals. They bring out the food as it's prepared, so there aren't any established "starters" or "mains"; even so, we started off our meal with a shared appetizer-esque plate of the crispy marinated tofu bao buns. Redundant name aside, the bao were fantastic -- the buns were perfectly soft, fluffy, and pillowy, which perfectly contrasted against the crispy tofu. The tofu wasn't particularly flavorful inside, but the gochujang aioli offered a great hit of tanginess and slight spice, which paired wonderfully with the slightly sweet bun. The bao were a lovely way to whet our appetites ahead of the mains -- we were both feeling noodle dishes, so I got the drunken noodles and my friend ordered the viet-lo. Both were solid, but, admittedly, not the best Vietnamese / Thai / Southeast Asian food I've had in DC. The drunken noodles had a nice texture, with a good bite and slight springiness to the noodles, but they were both quite bland and overly sweet. They were missing the signature spice that I normally expect from drunken noodles, and there wasn't quite enough savoriness or umami to balance out the sugar. I loved the addition of a bunch of fresh veggies, which really helped to lighten up the dish, and the veggies had a great level of crunch. It was a good experience, but I think the food was a bit overpriced and quite average. I would love to come back because the ambiance is so fun and energetic, but I'll probably just stick to the drink menu and some of their smaller plates / snacks.

I went here for brunch. The bahn mi wasn't good at all. The food was cold and the pork meatballs were disgusting. However, they have a variety of items on the menu. Maybe other entrees on the menu are tastier. The croissants were to die for though! They came out warm and fresh. The spicy butter that came with the croissants were delicious! The service was awful. The restaurant wasn't busy and the waiter rarely checked on our table. I had to ask other waiters for waiter and I had to get the attention of our waiter multiple times to order more food. The ambiance was cute. There's plenty of seating and there's a downstairs longe area for the evening time.

We stopped in without a reservation and were lucky to get seated right away! We really enjoyed the food! We had a rice noodle dish that was great! The desserts stand out in my mind. I loved the green honey cakes that were so unique. They had a spongy texture and sweet flavor; they were really good! The mango sticky rice was also phenomenal. I would definitely come back to Doi Moi.

This place is a triple threat : service, atmosphere, and food/drink - knock it out of the park for me! Just stoooopp it with your swanky decor, your sassy basil fried rice, and your addicting cocktails! This was my favorite stop of the night. Our bartender Alex was charismatic and kicked off my birthday night with much love and made it more memorable than any other bar in the circle. If you are like me...you can get a drink anywhere - bars are unforgettable because of the experience and the people. It's giving sexy pose: basement beads with private nooks under starless skies (dim lighting)...Follow the pink light down the stairs, and the music and dranks will take care of you! From there. A must: Order the Komodo Dragon - it is sweet with its delightful cherry foam- but it packs a punch. I had two- and they were my favorite from ALL the bars on our list! Bite: Fried rice had a bite...we added chicken. We didn't leave a morsel. Not just any fried rice- the layers of flavor was a game changer!

This place has been on my list for years! So glad I was able to try the downstairs recently! I admire that the upstairs and downstairs have different vibes and the downstairs turns club-y on the weekends, but still has a sleek chic vibe! The cocktails were pretty but also delicious! The Butterfly Effect was sweet and yummy. For appetizers we shared the Fried Chicken Dumplings and Slow Braised Pork Belly Bao Buns. Both were delicious and the bao buns had a sweet bun and we loved the seasoned pork! The Drunken Noodles were AMAZING! The noodles were cooked to perfection and they were really good! I also loved the Shaken Beef paired with fluffy rice and refreshing cucumber and tomato salad! For dessert we tried the unique Mango and Sticky Rice! It was really good and the mango was amazing!

Came for a friend's birthday for the first time and really liked it! My friends loved their 888 deal: $8 daquiris, 8 days a week, before 8 PM. They had unique flavors like lychee, banana, and lemongrass. I didn't try any this time but my friends had multiple. Our server, I think his name was David, was very good about checking up on us. For my friend's free birthday dessert they gave us 7 beignets so one for all 6 of us plus an extra. Highly recommend the Brussels sprouts! We loved the first batch so much we ordered more. I had the lemongrass pork skewers as my entree - it was tasty but I'd definitely recommend supplementing it with either another side or splitting another entree with someone.Ambiance-wise, very cute spot perfect for a date night or girls night out!
