Not quite what I expected, it has a bit of a speakeasy feel cause of its basement location as part of the restaurant. Inside is on the cozy side but we did find some space to grab a seat without being crowded out.The drink selections are on the luxe side, but they were pretty tasty. Good spot for a pre dinner drink!

Dito's bar is the best. If you are ever looking for a sexy bartender on a Saturday night that can make you the most spectacular drink at the drop of a hat with just three adjectives said by yourself, then you've found your place. I've never had a more enjoyable and welcoming experience. Go birds!

We loved the ambiance of Ditos. They are below the Italian restaurant Florina and the lasagna is to die for. Can't wait to go back!

This place is the original speakeasy. So cool, secluded and special. Arrive early as the small space fills up fast. Best nights are weekdays when the restaurant isn't so busy (it gets busy) and you have time to engage in politics, pop culture, and DC news with Dito or Michael. Also, If you're a fan of Manhattans there is no better bar. The bartender (Dito) is a master and has won lots of awards for Manhattans, and especially Boulevardiers which are quite strong! Also... extra points for super amazing Christmas decorations!

Dito's Bar is the Cheers equivalent of Boston, MA. I honestly believe that there is one patron who Dito does not know by name. Speaking of Dito, he has knowledge and intellect that far surpasses your ordinary bar keep. He will steer you in the right direction from your choice of entree to the perfect wine compliment. He treats every patron with sarcastic love and entertainment. The recap of daily events keeps me going back for more on a weekly basis. Dito is like a phoenix. When fire is cast upon him, he rises again with even a bigger devilish grin on his face. It's more than just a bar. It's theatre. It's comedic theatre. Bravo Dito! Bravo! Your service is stellar!

The frustrated owner thought it was necessary to contact his friends to give him the well deserved 5 stars and harass me with messages, which will be reported. Yelp is about to give honest feedback.

I simply love Dito's. I've been enjoying Dito's for years, but lately Dito's/Floriana has really blossomed. The atmosphere is perfectly cozy and welcoming. I feel so comfortable I consider it a little home away from home. Dito is a gem. He singlehandedly makes this place special, from his personality to his impeccable service. He remembers all the wines I've tried there and knows exactly what to recommend. The wine list curated by Dito has a great selection at various price points. Thanks to the return of Chef Danny, the kitchen has hit a high again. The lamb gnocchi and chocolate mouse are transcendent.

The owner was charming when we first sat down at the bar, but was quick to make rude remarks to female friend of mine and myself. While he's a decent bartender and they have a great wine menu, putting up with his anti-woman (cis and trans) bs was enough to prevent me from ever recommending this place to someone, especially when there are a ton of gay bars in DC that at least have a vague understanding of customer service

Nice restaurant, and the downstairs bar is very cool, totally worth a visit. The problem, should he be happen to be there when you visit, is Dito. What an awful person. The night I was there, he was ranting about how Beyoncé was "forced to change the lyrics of her song" that mentioned 'spaz' people. In a room full of complete strangers (including myself who has multiple disabled family members), he felt completely comfortable pontificating about how disabled people (aka 'spazes') are not a significant part of the population, have no lobbying power, and how dare they force Beyoncé to remove that word from her song. I thought about making a video of this prick as he was bloviating, kind of wish I had but you'll have to take my word for it that this went down as noted. Like I say, the bar has a really nice vibe and I've been in there other times and had a good time, but if I ever go near the place and see Dito in there again, I will make a swift exit.
