Hands Down, one of our favorite places!!! My wife and I literally try to find an excuse to go!! The music is always a vibe, the service is always nice, and better yet, the food is ALWAYS good!!! We have a fantastic time, each time we visit. We love the fact that we don't have to question if the food will be good or not because we know that consistency is the heartbeat of Della J's.We also appreciate the Black History Figures that are attached to some of the seating (i.e., booths). The food is always good (10/10) and we haven't had a bad experience yet. Della J's is always the place we loving bringing our family and friends to! We will certainly be back! Our favorite dishes are in the pictures, but their beverages be good too! That lemonade & Arnold Palmer is -- LIKE THAT!

Basic soul food that everyone seems to be obsessed with. The pork chops were dry and the sides were meh. The fish of any kind is fantastic. Fried chicken is decent but nothing to go out of your way for. All bread is fantastic. Great atmosphere with family pictures on the wall. Top tier service. Big tvs at the bar always have the games on. Plenty of parking. Make reservations on Sundays.

Last night we decided to give Della J's another chance, even after the snafu involving our lost take-out order.Food still is very good. The fried flounder, cabbage and collard greens are excellent. So is the tasty house salad that has cranberries and bits of apple. But last night service was an absolute mess. We came in around 5:00pm and the restaurant was only a quarter filled. Nonetheless, we were seated at a table in the bar.Our server was the bartender who was tending to eight or nine patrons seated at the bar, so it took forever for the bartender to come over and take our order. She tried to be cute by not writing our order down. As you may expect, that was a recipe for disaster. In addition to entrees (entrée house salad with chicken and flounder), we ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. Several minutes later, before our appetizer came out, a runner inexplicably brought us a side salad without chicken. We alerted our server behind the bar about the mistake and someone came and took the salad back.A long time later our entrees came out. We never saw our fried green tomatoes. The fish was missing the tarter and hot sauces we requested. The cornbread and biscuit were missing the butter. By now our server had forgotten about us and we had to flag down another staffer to get the missing items. The couple seated at the table next to us were missing items and were looking around the room to see if they could get somebody, anybody's attention. One woman staffer at the front, swilling a glass of water saw them, but ignored them (and us too).We waited a long to get our check and finally had to flag down somebody to get it.

I ordered 2 individual Thanksgiving meals from Della J's this year. The meal options sounded good so I went with a white meat turkey meal and a brisket meal. Each meal came with a choice of bread (I selected cornbread for both) and 2 sides (choose from the regular menu). I knew it was a lot of food but I wanted options and to try a few things from this restaurant.I didn't like that individual meals had to be ordered the day before TG as takeout meals. That meant they were hot so you had to reheat them for TG, while the meals for larger parties came chilled with reheating instructions. It's like those ordering individual meals were being treated differently (and not in a good way). On to the ordering process. I called around 12:30pm the day before TG and was told they were backed up and to call back in an hour. I called back more than an hour later and got the busy signal a few times and the call wouldn't go through. Now I was getting nervous that I might be left without a plan if I couldn't get through. But finally did get through and placed my order. Had to provide a credit card over the phone for payment. I was told the order would be ready in about 20 to 25 minutes and received a text in about that amount of time.I picked up my order and when I asked if there were reheating instructions was told no. I do think the customer service could be a little friendlier. Anyway, I checked that everything was there and left. Food smelled good on the drive home too.Fast forward to TG day. I decided to heat it up in the oven instead of the microwave. I was excited to eat but the food left me underwhelmed. First off why in the world they put the gravy on the turkey knowing people would be reheating it the next day, I don't know. It seemed to create a plastic like seal after reheating. Kinda gross looking. Overall the food had just a little flavor but I was expecting more for a restaurant like Della J's. I tried not to add salt but once I did, things tasted a little better (and I'm not one to overly salt my food). Out of everything, the best were the sweet potatoes and the cranberry sauce. I've had brisket elsewhere and this one seemed to be cooked in a bbq-like sauce that was just ok. The most disappointing was the Mac & cheese. Very very greasy and also lacked flavor. The cornbread was dry, but after using butter and sprinkling with salt, it tasted better.I hate to say it but Della J's did not satisfy my TG food craving.

Great service and amazing food. We went for lunch after church and it was a great choice. Everything was so fresh and made with love. Prices are fair and great selection for everyone from seafood to soul. A quiet little spot with plenty of room.

What can I say... I absolutely love Della J's! From the warm greeting coming in the door to the genuine "Hey!" from our Server. And I haven't even begun to speak in the food. I had the Bob & Evans Chicken. You can choose how you would like it - I went with fried. DELICIOUS...They offer two (2) sides and I went with their corn & cabbage - both prepared very well & came out piping hot (a major thing for many people). The decor is really nice & for those that wanna just do their Bar, they have two (2) TV playing whatever major sports event that on at the time. Hey...if you're looking for a great meal & a wonderful experience, pull up to Della J's!

Just a quick review of dessert. Peach cobbler. So simple, so few ingredients. How could this not be delicious? Here's how: Too much sugar and salt. I can forgive the cornbread style topping instead of pie shell type pastry crust. I can even forgive the overcooked peaches. But PLEASE not so much added sugar, and find a way to cut the salt in that cornbread topping. Plentiful serving though, but nearly ruined by an excess of most everything else.

Chicken wing and flounder fish with cold slaw. The fish was nice and lightly battered; the cold slaw was just right with a bit of crunch ness and black pepper. Nice. Dessert was banana cake with cream cheese frosting, very yummy. Okra not good.
