DC Sweet Potato Cake

The atmosphere was so relaxing! I feel this place would be an excellent place for a causal date or to read a book with some good food. All sweet potato cakes were displayed. I got the red velvet sweet potato cake, and let me tell you, the slice was moist and not overly sweet. I would say it was a perfect balance between the red velvet portion and the sweet potatoe portion. The service was fantastic. The person at the register was kind and helpful!Definitely recommend if you are in the area!

Cake: delicious. Icing: needs work. The cakes are so light and fluffy and really great. The icing on the different cupcakes I had was grainy and too sweet. Work on that icing and this will be my go-to for office cakes! The store is decorated SO cute and the customer service was great.

Just so happened to stop by to grab something quick since I was already late to work. I walk by this place every Wednesday when I come to work, but today was the day. Or not. I had something small, and I ordered the everything bagel *toasted* with cream cheese and a peach and mango smoothie. Welp! The everything bagel was missing everything. It was naked with a few sprinkle of freckles. It was warm but not toasted as requested. I took one bite and wasn't happy.The smoothie was'nt smoothing. It was more like a slushy with chunks of ice. It tastes good. However, needs more blending and smoothing. Will I give it another chance? Yes, I will.

Was in town for the weekend and looking for a gift for my friend who was hosting me. Found this spot after a quick search and was pleasantly surprised. The woman behind the counter was so enthusiastic and warm - she described all of the offerings (cupcakes, loaves, cakes) and even offered a tasting if I was curious about a flavor. Everything is made out of sweet potato, but tastes just like a regular cake. I opted for a whole pie, which was delicious (tasted like pumpkin pie). Even the customers were raving about the food. It was pretty spacious with seating inside and out, located right on Farragut Square. Recommend to anyone looking for a unique baked treat!

I actually love the cakes. Issue is I can only order via QVC. my local safeway doesn't care the product. And Doordash you can't order through

I have not visited the shop but , I did purchase one of the sweet potato cup cakes from Starbucks. The cupcake was delicious it consisted of a moist delicious sweet potato cake with a creamy cheesecake topping. I definitely intend to visit the shop in DC.

Ahhh! We stopped by on our walk from the White House because of the local banner it had! We walked in and were greeted and even got to sample the cakes before committing to one! I definitely recommend the ground beef wrap! The original cake was great too. As far as the ambiance you see local artists and greeted with their purple decor. I'll be back!

Don't order from this place. I ordered a cake a week ago and was told to pick it up from the store at noon. I drove 30 minutes to the store only to be told they didn't have the cake and that I could go back home and they would deliver it in 30 minutes. I get home and 2 hours later after telling me 3 times they were 10 minutes away they call and say oh we had an extra one in the freezer and are about to send it to you now. I missed a train home for the holidays because they lied and said they were going to deliver it and then after I leave the store and go home and wait for almost 3 hours they call back and say oh we forgot we had one in the freezer. I now have to pay for another train home for the holidays tomorrow because the rest of the ones today are sold out. Great job dc sweet potato cake. Thanks for nothing. I will be telling everyone I know and I know alot of ppl in dc to not support your business. The cakes are very good but this has been a nightmare od a day for me because yall screwed up.

I am not normally a sweets eater BUT....that sweet potato cake is something else! Definitely a hidden sweet treasure downtown and the bonus is it's black woman owned. We love that! I also enjoyed the art hallway filled with local artist work for purchase. Stop in a grab a slice or a cupcake you won't be disappointed!
