Danji is one of the few Korean restaurants in the DMV area that offers Samgye-tang (Chicken soup with rice and ginseng) even beyond the typical summer season. It was pleasing that this restaurant still included it on its menu.Samgye-tang is a traditional Korean soup known for its health benefits. It comprises a whole young chicken or quail filled with garlic, rice, jujube, and ginseng. The takeout packaging was well done, and the soup itself was delicious. The broth was exceptional, and the overall experience was healthy and enjoyable. It left me feeling revitalized and more nutritious.

If you ever been to ToSokJip in Annandale, this place is their "second location". It's a small restaurant inside but luckily it was not busy when I went. It started to pick up for the dinner rush though. I got the braised mackerel, and it was SO delicious. One of the best things I have. Only because I love fish and I love the sauce/broth they made for the dish. They must've use gochujang for the sauce. The fish was so amazing. And the portion size was meant for 2 people but we still couldn't finish it. It was so great. Highly recommend!

So delicious. Felt like I was transported to a restaurant in Korea with Banchan that is more rare in the States. The bossom was amazing so flavorful and refreshing. Seafood pancake was perfectly cooked as well.

To Sok Jip in Annandale was our go-to spot for dank Bossam but unfortunately when their restaurant closed due to a fire we searched for another reliable spot. Danji was recommended from multiple people and the Bossam lived up to the hype, it was a huge serving, tender, and flavorful! The grill mackerel was good as well, crispy and salty. The banchan options were diverse and fresh, definitely refilled on most of ours. Service is on par with most Korean restaurants.

This place has good tasty food served fresh and hot. Side dishes are tasty and are refilled for free. Typical Korean style. The Yu Ge Jang soup was full of meat and broth was good. I was craving Sam Ge Tang for a month or more and it was good. The chicken was meaty and the broth was good and very satisfying. BUT. The orders are expensive. There are posters from 2019 calling it cheap eats. Not now. But if you don't care about the price and want tasty food then this is a good place to

Came on a rainy Tuesday for lunch. I tried the yukgaejang and Bossam. The bossam is large and could be shared with at least 4 people as an appetizer. The yukgaejang was large and tasty but a bit too salty. It came with purple rice. The banchan included cabbage, radish, and perilla leaf kimchi and bean sprouts. There's a server call button and they were accommodating.

I really hope not they do recycle the rice from whatever left over from the tables. The rice that I 've ordered came out innot a good way. Some parts of rice was yellowish and it looks like it was added from leftover from other people's table. So disgusting! I throw it away!!!I really hope not they do recycle the rice!

Seemed like a legit Korean spot because most of the patrons were middle aged eating here on a Sunday. I had a decent experience here, ordered a jjigae and others ordered the ginseng chicken soup and the mackarel casserole. The ginseng chicken soup was simple and light, but not much ginseng flavor. I would probably skip this dish if you want more ginseng herbally flavors. The jjigae was flavorful but had some interesting things like zucchini and potato in there. The mackarel was the highlight imo. It was flavorful and not too salty and the fish was soft. I barely got any bones, a plus! And finally the banchans were all good. Especially the bean sprout and I don't even like bean sprouts. The tea was also a nice Barley tea flavor. Overall a great time!

Giving this place 4 stars after my second visit only because of their weird "leftover policy" and service.Food and ambiance was great as it was during my previous visit. As for the service, it gave me unpleasant experience. The biggest disappointment for me was the part, when I asked for to go box and waitress asked me "what for".Ummm, for the leftover food and I pointed at the table. I had rice and 3 side dishes left over. The waitress said that I can only take rice and not the side dishes. Then, she asked me if I still want a box.. Honestly, never before I've been in the situation where you cannot take left over food unless it's "all you can eat" restaurants. On top of that, this time as soon as I walked in, the waitress was staring at me for like 60 seconds deciding where I should sit. It was a bit awkward bc I was literally standing in front of her in the middle of the entrance also not knowing what to do. And time goes very slow when you're just standing in one spot. Place was 75% empty, so I don't see the reason that took her so long to decide. Anyway, I was already looking through the menu when she brought the QR code and said "it's the menu, scan it."I was confused but opened it. It took me to their website explaining what's Korean food is. Then, I noticed that next to that QR code it said, "if that's your first time trying Korean cuisine etc, etc." Ngl, It felt off. No one assumed it's my first time trying Korean food when I came there with my friend previously. So, I feel like 4 stars after this experience is way too high, but I really enjoyed my food.
