I called ahead in search of Blanc de Bleu, a blueberry sparkling wine I fell in love with a couple months ago. They had two bottles left and the man who answered the phone held them for me until I drove from NoVa. He said they were expecting more in an upcoming shipment so I will definitely stop by the next time Im in the neighborhood. Thanks for the great service and selection!

For the immediate liquor stores around Dupont Circle, this one is the best if you are looking for wine and don't want to over pay. They have a fairly decent selection with fair prices. The only downfall is they seem to close earlier than the others.

Good place to go in a crunch. Great selection of craft beer if that's what you're into (and I am). Great location and one of the only places around with several varieties of southern tier and victory in stock. Keep in mind that some items can be extremely pricey and aren't always clearly marked, such as an unmarked 6 pack of ginger beer cans that cost upwards of $12.

I love Connecticut Ave Wine!!! The owner Bobby is wonderful and so knowledgable. He is very patient and always has great suggestions for me. I dont know a lot about wine, beer or liquor. Everytime I have gone in, explaining the occasion or the group I have been purchasing for, he has made the perfect recommendation! Even when the group has including connoisseurs. I really feel confident that I will receive excellent guidance to make tge right purchases for my guests. Thank you Connecticut Avenue Wine & Spirits!!!!

3.5 stars There used to be a long hair guy here -- he was awesome -- totally knew his wine -- and was very nice as well. 1 part deadhead and 1 part vinophile make an interesting combo.I think the 2001 Shirvington Shiraz was 99 points -- you couldn't get it anywhere except for brookers that charged 3x retail (at a minimum) -- well he got 3 bottles and sold one to me at retail. The place is the size of a closet -- and his selection per square inch was probably the best in DC. Since he left the place's selection has suffered a little, but it is still one of the best places in the neighborhood to pick up a bottle of wine.

Your alcohol & wine selection looks nice & of course your location is perfect. Highly recommended!

This review is meant for people who have cellartracker accounts or who belong to wine boards like berserkers -- give this place a shot. You'll find cool things you don't normally find in small stores (05 Monte Bello .375s? Radio Coteau Savoy Pinot? Whaaa?) at prices that are okay. They also have the requisite stuff, and some cheeses and some mixers and liquor, but it's the 2015 Obsidian Ridge for $30 that made me happy to be here.

This rather small shop gets one point for friendliness, five points for excellent selection, but loses a point for presentation (very messy, many bottles exposed to direct sunlight), and loses two for very very prices. Maybe obscenely high. As an example, I found Talisker Storm elsewhere in the city for $35. On average it's $65. Here, it's $100. Even worse, the Fee Brothers Orange Bitters I bought in the grocery for $8 was on sale here for $50 (!!!). Clearly they cater to the trust fund set, who like their booze obscure and expensive. But the selection is, indeed, very good. It's too bad the pricing is out of control. Back to my regular haunts...

Don't let the size fool you. This place is a pretty good example that big things come in small packages. BIG variety & yes BIG price tag.It seems as though this tiny little neighborhood liquor store has gotten a bit big for its britches...but you are definitely paying for the convenience and selection. For me it all boils down to the fact that I can run in grab top shelf libations and White Chocolate Alcohol Infused Whipped Cream and leave WELL equipped for a fun filled night in under 5 minutes. Thats enough for a solid 3.5 stars in my book.

I have been going to this store for years and have some favorite wines that they carry at a good price; however, recently a man was hired that I don't feel safe around. He has followed me into aisles and comments on everything I look at and stays near me the entire time. I can understand asking if I need help; however, the past few times he stays around me until I choose my wines. It has become uncomfortable for me. It's too bad because the other two employees I have seen regularly are fine. I won't go back unless I know he is either not there on a given day or gone.
