Come'Chop came to my neighborhood recently and I was super excited to give it a try. My apartment management sent out the link to pre-order so I did just that. I set my pick up time and it was a done deal..or so I thought! When I got to the truck before my pick up time, there was a line already forming.. however the gentleman was still setting up. No biggie. My problem was that I had to wait in line for 30 MINUTES in the burning hot sun past my pick up time, to simply pick up my meal. What is the point of the preorder feature if you have to wait anyways? I did feel bad because it was just one guy running the show, but for future events like this I think they should also have a seperate person handling the online orders or don't have it at all.I ordered the escovitch which was good with the jollof rice. I only wish it had come with a sauce to add some more heat and moisture to the rice! One last thing. If you do preorder you might want to call and double check that they actually have that item on the truck that day. I almost ordered the jerk chicken which was so deliciously advertised on their site .. and when I got to the truck they scratched it off and put Curry Chicken. I like the idea of Nigerian/Jamaican fusion, but they still have a few kinks to work out operations wise. But at the end of the day, Come'Chop is still worth a visit!

I'd give this foodtruck a 3.5 but rounding up for the really friendly vendor. Based on another review, seems like the food truck makes limited supply for each day so by the time I got there at 1pm, they were out of mixed vegetables which would've been a great balancer since there's a ton of rice and two massive drumsticks (large jollof with grilled chicken). They did have free plantains but these weren't great, a bit dry. The jollof was fine and the chicken was really tender but I'm not sure I'd come back. Not a lot of options but I will say their spicy sauce is delicious! Plenty of kick that spices up the tomatey jollof.EDIT: I was still mid-eating when I wrote my post. A few bites later, I bit into something that pierced into my gum and stayed there. Looked like a fingernail but it won't cut.. seems like plastic. Sorry but I have to change the review to a 1.

Man, I'm just salty. This would be a 5 star review, but by the time I got to the truck, they were out of plantain and fish altogether. SMH.The jollof is always good--though I prefer my jollof more like party rice, but it's hard to do on a food-truck, I get it. It's well-seasoned, if a bit oily (which it's jollof so this isn't a real complaint) and I'm just mad I couldn't get plaintin and fish. I had spicy stew and jollof and licked my fingers after, but it's not the same without plantain. The man is super nice, but get here early or there won't be anything left but rice. Clearly they pack plenty. My mouth is now itching and I hate that I haven't had a moment to spare to try it previously, it is REALLLLY good.

I've been dying to try this food truck since I first saw it in parked in NoMa. I've been to West Africa many times and love the food. I'm so glad I stopped for lunch there today! The jollof rice could be right off the street in Accra (though maybe a bit less spicy, which is a good thing IMHO). The rice is simple, cooked with tomatoes and spices, with a deep smokey flavor and pleasant heat. The large portion is indeed large! Two grilled chicken legs, also nicely spiced, compliment the meal nicely. Do yourself a favor and try something different today - it'll be great!

Today I tried Come'Chop (and West African food) for the first time, and I'm very glad I did. The Jollof rice with grilled chicken is excellent. Very tender and flavorful, and the spicy sauce on the side is delicious. The portion is large enough that you could share, but I'm not going to!The Jollof rice with chicken is made without gluten ingredients, however they do sell some items that contain gluten like savory pies, so the truck is not strictly gluten free.

Got the jollof rice with fried chicken and a veggie pie. I got two sauces: the spicy sauce and the jerk sauce. The spicy sauce wasn't overly spicy but it had a nice kick and smoky flavor. The fried chicken was this giant singular fried piece with so, so much meat and it was really juicy! You get a lot of food and I was able to split this into two meals. The jollof rice was also delicious. A little bit on the harder side but it tastes great.

Y'alllllllll LET. ME. TELL. YOU. I was coming back from lunch just getting ready to walk into my building with a salad in my hand and I see this food truck advertising jollof. I NEARLY FELL OUT. NOT A JOLLOF FOOD TRUCK?!?!??!? I instantly thought to myself "God, I see you working!" So anyways, I'm walking to truck with this goofy overly excited smile and a twinkle in my BOTH my eyes (I still couldn't believe what I was seeing) & when I get to the guy working my the only words to leave my mouth were "IS THIS NIGERIAN JOLLOF." I mean I screamed this. It was true word vomit! I don't even think I said hello. To the person who helped me, if you're reading this I'm sorry! lol. With a friendly smile, he jokingly responded "come onnnn....look at me." It was on and SHA-POPPIN at this point. I was so freakin happy because well, *deep depressing sigh* we ALL know Ghana Jollof is trash (don't shoot the messenger *shrugs*). So moving on, I ordered a small order of jollof and now I'm at my desk MAD I didn't get a large. I absolutely HATEEEE food trucks! The food is just never that good to me. Plus I think they're all dirty. That was definitely not the case today! I consider myself a jollof connoisseur (lol, I really do though) and this was REALLY good. On top of that the truck appeared to be clean and the worker or owner or whoever he was, was really nice! I'm a customer for however long this truck is parked outside of my building, which is every Wednesday this month. Here it is the end of the month and I'm so sad & mad didn't notice and try this earlier! I guess to sum everything up I'd just say, eat here. It was really good!

BIG fan of this truck. Jollof and chicken stew is amazing. Has a lot of spice which I love. Coconut rice is pretty good too. I usually get 4 platters for the week when I catch the truck, it's good like that and the portion sizes are huge. Worth every penny!

This truck was on GW's campus today and I had to try! I got the jollof rice with chicken. The total came out to $15, which is fine because portions are huge it'll equate to 2-3 meals. So good! It was insanely fresh and it had perfect spice. The sauce they give you on the side is to die for. You got two huge chicken drumsticks- they were perfectly cooked.BIG FAN!
