The java is very good. Service is above average, and staff is super friendly. I like the outdoor seating; has southern exposure and the sun is glorious. Can easily sit outdoors here, even in cold weather--a big plus. The baked goods are okay. I do enjoy the fact that it's up the hill from crazy M Street, away from the hubbub of Georgetown's main drag. All in all, a solid coffee house.

It was okay, but not at all worth the price. I got their seasonal "PSL" type drink, which supposedly had both pumpkin and white mocha in it but did not taste sweet at all. When I splurge and order a sugary drink, I expect it to be sweet!I didn't personally get food, but it looked meh and extremely overpriced. My friend said she paid $9 for a breakfast sandwich that she didn't enjoy. Finally, for a place that solicits tips via those flip around tablets - the employees were unfriendly and essentially just stared at you blankly. I asked one if a certain drink was mine, and she barked 'YES' at me with a scowl on her face. Whatever...won't be back.

Location scores if in the area but nothing else to shout about. Nice space but counter staff really not interested. Coffee ok but never like paper cups. Croissants and leek parm pastry pleasant. They ask if I wanted them warmed which was a good idea. No atmosphere and not particularly warm so would not plan to come again even in the area.

I'd give Coffee Republic a 3.5. Vibes and ambiance were great, but coffee was just okay. I got the morning buzz, which had a nice blend of flavors (honey and cinnamon) but was milky for my preference. As a caffiend, this spot probably wouldn't be a go-to for my morning caffeine, but for a lighter afternoon coffee, I'd return.

Coffee was good. Like the cold brew as well. A little bit pricey, but overall a decent spot for sitting and enjoy enjoying the area. Service was excellent.

$7.43 breakfast sandwich that is pre-made The baristas and staff are nice folks! The coffee is good and strong. But this breakfast sandwich is over priced and not good. And because it is pre made there is no vegetarian / meat-free option or alternative available.Would be great if Coffee Republic could offer vegetarian options and more fruit. Healthy options for the students and community at large would be water in the food-dessert that is Georgetown.

Located just a couple of blocks from Georgetown University and the neighborhood's ever-busy M Street, Coffee Republic (replacement of the Georgetown favorite Saxbys) is a quaint little cafe serving up specialty coffee/tea drinks at a steep premium. When you step inside the cobalt blue doors of the café, you enter a colorful, modern-looking space with an almost spaceship/industrial-chic-themed interior, with steel accent pieces and exposed brick. Unimpressive-looking pastries line a glass case, and a long menu is displayed above the ordering counter. On a Thursday afternoon at around 1pm, there was pretty much no line - I've been told this is not the case on early weekday mornings, so I would suggest ordering ahead or being prepared for a wait if you go at that time! I ordered a hot 12oz Americano with sugar-free vanilla syrup ($4.50, syrup is extra $0.75) - they forgot the syrup, so I gave it back to them, and they happily added two pumps! The coffee itself is lackluster - it doesn't taste overly burnt, but there's no distinct flavor, and tastes like drip coffee as opposed to a real Americano. I don't think it was worth $5.25, but I suppose you're also paying a premium for the location of the café. My dad ordered a Cortado ($4), which came with 2 shots of espresso and 2oz of milk - again, the espresso was nothing special, but not bad.Overall, this isn't really a "coffee-focused" place, and more a cute space for a meetup with a friend. Service is friendly, but I noticed that they got other peoples' orders wrong as well (perhaps something they're ironing out as a relatively new business in the area?), and prices are steep. If you're looking to get your coffee fix, I would go to one of Georgetown's many other cafes!
