Cocina El Jefe

Food: incredible, fresh, full of flavor. Crispy cod taco was fresh, not soggy or greasy, toppings were crisp and delicious. Service: quick and very chippy! Great for a sunday morning farmers market! Vibe: farmers market or brewery, you'll need these bites at both! Parking: parking lot near by farmers marketPricing: great price for the quality

Had this at one of the local breweries. Wait time was on par with other food trucks, price was a bit higher. Food reviews below. Overall, I wouldn't seek out this food truck but, it's not one to avoid either. We ordered:Regular Nachos - wouldn't get again. They didn't have any cheese of which to make them nachos but rather this sweet tomato sauce. Chicken Nachos - same sauce as above which was just so off-putting. Chicken was ok though a little sparse. Had a small drizzle of sour cream. Would not order again. Beef Tacos - these were ON POINT. meat was juicy with plenty of onion and cilantro to make them so yummy. Spicy salsa crema they came with was delicious. Beef Empanadas - AMAZING minus that darn red sauce. Empanada dough was in the shape of a taco shell versus closed but easy to eat and held the meat perfectly.

On a hot and humid Saturday in July, my fiancé and I checked out Milk Lady Farmers Market at Derwood. We discovered Cocina El Jefe, which specializes in tacos, burritos, and rice bowls. The owners were friendly and offered samples prior to purchase. They make their own corn tortillas on-site. We enjoyed several El Jefe and K-Town tacos. They were ready within a couple of minutes, served hot off the press, and amazingly delicious. The El Jefe taco consisted of a corn tortilla topped with Sigsig, onion, cilantro, salsa verde, and jalapeno cream sauce. The K-Town taco consisted of a corn tortilla topped with bulgogi, shredded cabbage, and sriracha mayo. We can't wait to try their other tacos!

Incredible! We stopped by on their first night at Monocacy Brewing in Frederick and were so impressed. The baja, el jefe, and bangkok tacos were esp tasty.
