While visiting Georgetown, we decided to have dinner at Clyde's and it did not disappoint. The restaurant was packed and busy, but when we asked about seating for a party of four, the hostess let us know they had availability.I ordered the Bolognese, the hubs had Steak Frites, and the kids went for pasta and chicken fingers. Everything was absolutely delicious. The vibe, the décor, and our waitress were all wonderful. The atmosphere was lively but still comfortable, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. I highly recommend making reservations since it gets busy. We loved it and would definitely return!

TLDR; Clyde's is absolutely AWFUL. Avoid at all costs. I'd only recommend this place to your enemies. Do you like to pay lots of money for extremely mid, overly salty food? I don't. I only went here because it was one of the few places in DC that are open at 10:30pm on a Tuesday. They had live music going at the bar but it was extremely loud so we asked to sit in the next room. The service is fine. The ambience is average. But the food SUCKS! It is plated nicely and whatnot but I ordered a shrimp cocktail and stopped when the waitress told me it only comes with THREE jumbo shrimps. For $12.99 that's ridiculous! $4+ PER SHRIMP?! I ordered a beet salad with goat cheese and it had a lot of beets and cheese but the arugula was absolutely drenched and dreadfully salty. I also ordered their mussels and it was again insanely salty and tasted only of tomato. I gave up on eating them halfway because a lot of the mussels tasted like they were undercooked. I am giving two stars instead of one because I didn't get food poisoning. The bill for my two appetizers, mussels and salad, was over $50.

A unique and classy bar and eatery for the whole family, and filled with Georgetown character! You might assume it's a hole in the wall until you walk in and see there are two separate bar rooms, with sit down dining available in both, plus in an additional dining room in the rear. The decor is old brick and mortar with tons of aviation posters, wall art, old wooden propellers, and huge models. The food was delicious. We ordered a reuben with fries, and their signature eggnog (made with dark rum, rye whiskey, and something else; all up remember is it was good!). Everything was done perfectly, portions so generous one sandwich fed us both to bursting, and very good service despite a busy afternoon. There is an oyster bar with some other seafood options, and their wine and liquor selection is IMPRESSIVE. Check out their menu listing of just bourbons and rye whiskeys! If you're planning a visit to Georgetown, be sure to add Clyde's to your list.

I had an overall good experience at Clyde's. The server was nice and came to us when he could. We were able to sit outside and get a couple drinks and apps after work. I for the Apple Spiced Sangria and the Boots with the Fur. Both were good. Then got a shrimp cocktail which they charge PER shrimp. About $4. Just something to be aware of. They are large shrimp but it was just Georgetown prices. My coworker got the dip and both apps were good and so were the drinks. The price is comparable to the area for a sit down experience. I don't know if it will be my after work bar but it was enjoyable if you want a place to pop into with not the worst pricing I might say Billy Hicks.

It's been yearssss since I've been to Clyde's in Georgetown and it feels like nothing has changed. It's still the very busy restaurant that I remember it to be, friendly staff and good food. This visit was needed after a long day walking up and down M st. We popped into Clyde's around 7 pm on a Saturday and we were able to sit at their high top tables immediately (thank goodness). Any other tables inside or outside would've required a wait. Our sever came over shortly after we were seated to get orders and get the food rolling out. The calamari was a great size and seasoned well. We loved the Rockefeller oysters and wish we'd gotten more. The burger was cooked to perfection and the ribs were pretty good. The sides for the ribs were a bit disappointing (Cole slaw, cornbread and potato salad) but at least the ribs were pretty meaty. Only deducting a star here because as the restaurant got busier it felt like our server forgot about us. Overall the food was good and we spent a beautiful day in Georgetown

I have mixed feelings about Clyde's. Both times I have visited, I've been seated way in the back and in the worst spot in the restaurant. I don't know if it's because we're Asian. I noticed a lot of other Asians were seated in the back. I had to speak to the manager before I got us a good table so maybe it's just the hostess.Aside from that; the service and food at Clyde's was very enjoyable. Our server was so friendly. They have great steaks here, and Guinness on tap.

Stopped by for a lil drink break after some shopping! We got some oysters and they were fresh and delicious as well. Service is friendly and they're pretty attentive for how busy they are.

Came here without a reservation and was seated right away on a Sunday afternoon. The service we received was impeccable. We ordered a side of soft butter, side of aoli, side of gravy, A1 and Tabasco and they hooked it up! We split everything between 2 ppl and they graciously cut/split the dishes in half and delivered it on separate plates! Talk about princess treatment! Here's what we ordered:Fresh oysters: 10/10. Small to medium sized. Fresh with excellent horseradish, cocktail sauce and vinegar! Oyster HH daily from 3-5pm!Cup of New England Clam Chowder: 10/10. Creamy and delicious. I added pepper and tabasco!Crab and Artichoke dip: 9/10. Warm and not too rich although it felt like it was missing a spice. Came with a generous sliced baguette. Steak Frites: 10/10. Cooked medium rare. The perfect amount of juiciness. We each had 2 cocktails and split the bill. It cost $78.70 each before 20% tip. I recommend Clyde's for solid American food that hits the spot.

The original Clyde's located in Georgetown. I like the charm and character of the restaurant compared to their other locations. Went during brunch on a Saturday when it opened. By the time we left, it was pretty full so I would make reservations. Like the other Clyde's locations, the food and service were pretty good. I had the Bacon cheeseburger while my daughters had the Jumbo Lump crab cake platter and cheeseburger. They still make on the best crab cakes in the area.Yes, parking and traffic really sucks in this area. I parked at the Georgetown Park mall garage.

Clydes is A DC staple for a reason. The menu has a wide array of foods to choose from. We started off with the oyster rockafeller, simply delicious. I chose the cruel summer cocktail... and one cocktail was not enough. My partner had the steak salad and I was jealous for not ordering that for myself. I had buffalo wings which were sub par. The ambiance was comfortable and sophisticated. The service didn't disappoint! I felt fortunate to have lunch there on a casual Tuesday afternoon
