We ordered from Centeno's for dinner. We ordered fajitas de beef, a chicken quesadilla, horchata, dry cheese, and a side or sour cream. The chicken quesadilla was unbearable. It did not taste right. The chicken tasted off and weird to me and my fiance. Even the sour cream failed to mask the taste. We were starving and desperate. But this was BAD.The fajitas de beef were the better of the two options. The beef was very savory and tasty! Thank goodness we ordered both. The beef hit the spot and was delicious. If I ever went back (which I doubt I will) I would only order the fajitas de beef because I don't think I could trust ordering something else.If you eat here, avoid chicken entrees and stick with the beef. They know what they are doing with the beef...not the chicken.

Ordered from here last night using Uber Eats. I got the chicken and beef fajitas which came with rice, beans, pico, and Salad. My boyfriend got the NY steak special which came with eggs sunny side up, fried plantains, rice, beans, and salad mix. I really enjoyed my fajitas. It came with a lot of meat. I only wish they gave a lil more rice and beans, but, there was so much meat it made up for it. My boyfriend enjoyed his meal. His was a little pricey at $20, but it was a full steak and came with essentially three sides. He said he wished the eggs actually came runny, they were hard fried, however, he didn't specify how he wanted them cooked and it was delivery so they probably figured hard fried was better for transport (so not really faulting them). I was impressed by how flavorful the meat was and the amount. I also ordered a pupusa, with cheese and pork, but I think they forgot the pork or there was very little. However, it was tasty, especially the toppings they gave. Overall, this place was better than expected. The portions of meat were large and I was left feeling very full. I would definitely order from them again.

Walking distance from work. Nice quiet place for an afternoon drink. Ten dollars for a cranberry vodka. TEN DOLLARS!

Great food for the price you pay. I am a regular here and I usually get the salmon. It is cooked tenderly. I've also tried the burger and carne asada. They were good meals.

Simply put, some of the best Central American food I've experienced in the city. There's a lot of places that make great pupusas, but my co-workers and I at the school come here for everything else you'd want Central American/American like fajitas, yucca con chicharron, quesadillas, and my favorite bit of decadence: tacos de lengua. The thing about Centeno's is that they don't do the bare-minimum on anything... your tacos are going to each have a little bit of diced tomato condiment, a beautifully sliced avocado piece, and a grating of aged white cheese to round it out. There will be the ubiquitous slice of lime to cut the fat of the perfectly fall-apart-tender tongue, and an order of three tacos comes with the house rice and beans. Even the rice and beans are better than other restaurants that make the same dishes, with the rice likely being sautéed while still dried with (guessing here) onion and garlic, then simmered until those little perforations made by heat and oil are filled with the infused flavorful fat. And the beans are pureed into a brick-colored potent soupy consistency that mixes perfectly with the aforementioned rice, or works as a dipping base for the extra-thick tortillas that for the vessel of delivery for the tacos. I think I went off on a little bit of a tangent there, so I'll just let you folks know that even if you don't care for tongue, the other stuff has an equal level of care put into it. Also, I get it; my wife says whenever I'm eating tacos de lengua, I'm basically making out with a dead cow.

Did not dine in, but weird vibes and creepy men. Awkward service as well. My friend and I had to walk up to be taken care of. Do not recommend. Agua de horchata is average.

If you are black, you may want to draw away from this establishment. Upon entering, I automatically felt bad vibes. I was accompanied by my boyfriend and a female friend who are both black. No one greeted us, instead they stared at us awkwardly as if we were ruining their party. It was a group of people in the restaurant (not customers, maybe family or workers) playing VERY loud music and dancing. I am not against this, as you may do as you please in your own establishment. But when customers arrive, you should always greet them and make them feel welcomed. After ignoring my intuition and seating ourselves, I checked my bank statement to see that I was charged twice for my meal. Smh.

I ordered the chicken tacos meal and the food was absolutely delicious. The tacos were served in a hot tortilla and chicken seasoned well. I enjoyed the beans and yummy avocado on my tacos. The ambiance was quiet and the best part the jukebox. I enjoyed my time & meal at Centeno's.

The food here is really really good! My one qualm, and reason for deducting a star, is that cocktails are incredibly overpriced.
