This is a decent Jamaican restaurant offering the staple Jamaican cuisine. In traditional fashion they offer jerk chicken, brown stewed chicken, curry, snapper and other fish. The quantity and portions they offer is comparable to other Caribbean takeout restaurants in the DMV however the quality is quite average. The proteins are just too smothered in sauce and gravies for my liking. Almost to the point where it seems like Caribbean cuisine and Southern soul food fusion in how the proteins are smothered in sauces. The turnoff is the jerk chicken which is slathered in a BBQ style jerk sauce. It is a delicious sauce however it's just not authentic jerk chicken. What I've come to understand about DMV Jamaican carryout restaurants is many of them take traditional Jamaican dishes and alter it in an attempt to produce a menu item which they believe will cater to the demographic and inevitably the Jamaican authenticity is lost. Again, the food is good for what it is, which is comfort food, however just not authentic. Give them a try.

I've been coming here periodically for a while now. If I had to give it a number 8/10. Maybe once or twice I was as pleased but overall...it's been great food. ....great customer service and good authentic Caribbean food.

Ok ok...I went here after my fav Jamaican spit was closed. The female that was there was really nice but the oxtails are tough and they don't taste like authentic Jamaican oxtails and the cabbage is so bland , like they just boiled in some water and that's it. Lawwdddd smh.It wasn't the horrible but it's not for me lol.

This establishment has steadily gone downhill in the quality of food. When they first came to our area, it was exciting because Jamaican/Caribbean food was solely missing. It still is, which is why I strongly believe they get away with the poor quality and cooking. Stewed chicken isn't sweet. However tonight what I received was food that's not edible. Don't even think about buying patties in bulk because you tend to get overcharged as folks chat with you. Tends to be the evening male cashiers. If I provide a rating of food service and quality... it's a solid D. Only visit if you've not been raised on good Jamaican/Caribbean cuisine.

My favorite Caribbean spot nearby. This was my first time going with the jerk bbq wings versus the traditional jerk chicken dish and I was not disappointed. The rice and cabbage is also really good, and the Coco bread on the side was a great addition. The food is fresh and I'll definitely order again.

Food was tasty and well cooked, the portions fit the price (I felt like I got my money's worth) and the wait wasn't too long at all after my order was placed. I had a jerk chicken plate. The jerk chicken was spicy for me! It would have been nice if they had various spice levels for the jerk sauce (I will ask next time). The rice was good, the cabbage could have been better (could have included some carrots or another complimenting veg to boost the taste - but they might not so that here) and the plate could have came with a bit more of it - I had a lot of rice, and not that much cabbage. The restaurant staff are pleasant too. Overall good experience. I will come back.

The food at this place is horrible! I ordered a large jerk chicken and coco bread. The rice was undercooked and the chicken was simply okay. Never again.. don't waste your time or money.

Today, I ordered a large stew chicken. I was in the mood for a good, home cooked Jamaican meal to highlight my day. What I received was... the exact opposite of any meal that I envisioned. For starters, the cabbage was so watery, the meal was thrown off with the moisture and texture. The rice tasted spoiled and took on the flavor of the ill seasoned cabbage. Finally, the chicken tasted like it was boiled in reused pan water and served over an already pitiful bed of watery cabbage and rice. There is much more I could say but I think this should work well enough. Actually,... one more thing... I asked for a cup of gravy and the man threw it in there. The gravy spilled all over the bag. The rude service and the way he threw the gravy, I just knew this food was about to be hitting. I opened the bag and spilled gravy all over my bed... just for this food to taste like this.

When you come into a restaurant/carry-out on a Friday around 7pm and there's no one ordering food. It should have told me something is wrong here. I ordered curry Shrimp entree and Callaloo & Saltfish entree. The Callaloo & Saltfish was the worst I've ever had. It was so salty. I assume they just dumped salt in to preserve old food. The rice & peas and cabbage was a bland oily mess. The Shrimp was decent but probably old as well. When the shrimp has loss its firmness and kind of melts away without needing to chew it. Something is wrong. Whoever is managing this spot needs to be spoken to. The food is shameful.
