Capitol Hill Supermarket

Close to my daughter's school, Capitol Hill Supermarket is a great spot for an after school snack. My eight-year-old daughter loves wandering the aisles and fridges for lemonade and chips. Costumer service is great!

Great little store! Really great selections of snacks, food and even beer n wine! If I'm back I'm going here!

Small selection of meat and produce which you should probably avoid anyway (50% of beef was browning and 50% of produce wilting/ bruised), this appears to be a small supermarket where a lot of local employees come for a quick sandwich... and perhaps a par of pliers should you need one. Good selection of snacks and drinks at full retail prices, so dont expect a sale of any kind. The small amount chicken in my caesar salad tasted like overnight jerk chicken. Strange.

I don't know why, but this place reminded me of your sitcom, corner store, supermarket. It was so welcoming when I came in here and had the shelves stocked with items. Honestly, this was one of the best supermarkets I have been in for a while.One down side here is that it is located in a rather cramped space. The aisles are narrow and if you a claustrophobic, this might not be the spot for you. Even though it is a smaller space, they do have a wide variety of items to choose from. It was a nice experience and it was great to see that this is used by so many people. I only stopped in here one night to grab a few things and there were enough people in here to make it known it is a great asset in the area.I grabbed my items, made it to the front, had a small wait in line, but it was worth it. The employee that was working was super pleasant and definitely made it a better experience.

Despite being a small store tucked into a neighborhood next to the Capital, they had a fair selection of food and beverages at a pretty decent price point. Clean and well kept, a few of the ubiquitous homeless folks hanging out asking for money, but overall not a bad little place.

This little "supermarket" is a fully stocked convenience store plus. They really do have everything you'd be looking for, from any sort of grocery item to duct tape or dog poop bags. These items are all a bit expensive, and this review is primarily for the deli!I LOVE Cap Hill Supermarket's deli counter. The deli meat and cheese is always fresh and they have a huge variety of sandwich options. They are made to order so you can choose one from the dozens listed on the menu, or create your own by choosing a type of bread/bagel, meat, cheese, veggies, and condiments. You can't go wrong.I only stop by when I am craving one of their deli sandwiches, and sometimes leave with a random household or grocery item that I need urgently. Otherwise, due to the prices, I stick to the deli sandwiches. But it is nice to have everything else at arm's reach in case you want to multitask with errands.

The guy scanned 4 items twice. When i confronted him, he started screaming saying I was distracting him. How do you scan only 4 big items twice and not the small ones if you're distracted. Then he told me i was annoying because i complained about the rotten meat. He mumbled so many insults trying to give me a refund for those items. Please check your receipts before you walk out.

A reasonable selection, but extremely expensive. We bought frozen fish that, once opened, appeared to have been defrosted and then refrozen. The other items were as expected. We should have walked a bit further to a larger supermarket.

This is a great neighborhood market. I went to the store a couple of times while visiting Washington. The clerk was friendly and prices are the same as any other store in the area.

Superb, friendly service. Well stocked for a corner store. Convenient necessity for nearby residents as well as others. Moderately priced lunch items available.
