Capital Szechuan

One might ask how did I overlook this "Diamond in the Rough"! Well, the neighborhood, parking lot and front floor area (pretty beat up ceramic flooring) to name a few reasons, but I'm glad I overlooked it and tried this place after all. The overall 4 1/2 Stars rating drew me in and the food has kept me coming back!! Lol Sorry, No photos this time around; gobbled it Diwn before I decided to write a review. Smh On my first visit, I tried the General Tso Shrimp and was sold! Plenty of Large Shrimp, Fresh Broccoli and a good Sauce with Hot Steamed White Rice. On my second visit (the next day, I'm ashamed to say), I tried the Szechuan Shrimp with Steamed White Rice Lunch Special. Once again, I was pleased, but only with one complaint, more Shrimp expected! Again there was nice sized Shrimp (compared to most carry outs), but only 6 in this lunch portion order (need to try it regular priced)! I'm very picky when it comes to "Szechuan Shrimp", because I thought no one could top Mainland's Rest. (Marlboro Pike) flavor, but today I found out differently. The dark brown Sauce, Onions, Green Pepper and Sliced Carrots only accented the Shrimp.I can't wait to taste my third favorite Chinese dish; Shrimp Lo Mein, but I think I'll wait until next week, at least! Lol

The food here is great I recommend to order with the lady not the gentleman if uou want to be fully understood and can understand yourself great carryout

They have the best General Tso's chicken in my opinion. They're fried chicken is decent. I don't prefer their mumbo sauce. To ensure you're not waiting 10-15 mins inside or in your vehicle I'd suggest calling your order in.

Shrimp and broccoli had a good flavor but it didn't taste fresh and the shrimp are little baby size. I'm not use to that. Overall good but I hope they upgrade to larger shrimp in the future.

All time favorite carryout in DC. I visit everytime I'm in town. Their wings and mambo sauce are the best around.

Really like the food at this restaurant. Only problem I have is the parking lot out front, which is not just a hole, but it's a ditch, other than that, tasty food, very good.

Great affordable Chinese carry out. I ordered the shrimp lo mein, fried rice, amd a couple of egg rolls. The food was hot fresh and flavorful I will definitely revisit.

Very familiar with their services, called in to a little time, get the food for me to be unsatisfied. Appetite was gone after I didn't have no choice but to Pay for the food because the lady starts to say yelling,"I took my time I work hard" for what I don't know should of just starved & left the food there. Literally like so disrespectful I'm really talking in a civilized manner & this lady goes to keep trying to yell what's wrong?

The food is always tasty and well prepared. The customer service is friendly which is not the norm in these establishments.
