Sooooo the Capital Chicken & Waffles food truck was present at the end of the summer picnic that my employer hosted for the company. The gents here were great!! They broke the line up into two line, chicken and waffles and chicken and fries. Going with the lighter option, as if, I went with the chicken and fries. Chicken was thick, tender and juicy!!! The seasoning on the fries was a best kept secret!! Tasty enough that no ketchup was needed! And listen, whoever made the mumbo sauce deserves a round of applause!! Best mumbo sauce I've had in a while! Pass that mumbo sauce and enjoy this here meal!!! Thanks again!!!

Are you even open? Have a Groupon that I can't even use, as you're never open (including weekend visits)!!!!!!! I've visited twice and both times CLOSED (Saturday 5pm and on Monday Labor Day holiday)!!!!! Come on man!!!!!!! You even have a Yelp check in offer!!!! Btw your storefront even has no answer when called on Saturday 5pm. Don't sell anymore Groupon please. False advertisement. Noticed that the food truck was tucked parked in the corner. Figured I'd shop at outlets and eat.

As a lunch companion I must say the Food Truck experience was very pleasant. 1st the sun was shining & even with an enormous line, the wait wasn't that bad. The employees on wheels were very friendly & quick with their ordering, cooking & delivering skills. My gal pal opted for the Classic Combo of Chicken & Waffles with one side that comes with your order, she selected the Mac & Cheese. She paid for an additional item of got the Yams. They offer drinks as well...one can never go wrong Ginger Ale. Now look-a-here, for mobile southern food like this, CC&W did the dang thing. I really thought I was back in Caprini Greens for my Lu-Lu Mae's annual summer cookout...geesh, any vegan options LOL?! They gave her great proportions & she had no quarrels with the price. Clearly she enjoyed her mini mobile fast food feast as she barely took a breath in between bites & rarely used the napkin she was provided. Finger lickin' good, I'm confident she was saying to herself. I must admit, I was a tad bit intrigued by the shape of the waffle in a semi circle of such, & would dare to try one if their batter was made out of water only...good luck with that. :-)It seems their go to item are the bite-sized waffle "Poppers" as many, many people were ordering & consuming while on foot. If plans ever call for CC&W to open a brick & mortar location, CC&W would be a instant & continuous success.

While I would have given CC&W one star the first few times (despite the friendly staff), after my last visit I am giving them three stars.Chicken & Waffles have three components - Fried Chicken (or Fried Chicken Fingers), Waffles, and Maple Syrup. Why one star originally? FAIL: The chicken fingers that they originally had were below average. They would be edible as an appetizer at a happy hour, but not something to go out of your way for. FAIL: The waffles were not even Eggo quality. They were soggy and pretty small at that. FAIL: The syrup was the cheap stuff that you get at the supermarket...the kind that is just corn syrup and food coloring. Why three stars now? SUCCESS: The chicken fingers now are very high quality chicken with tasty breading...not as good, but similar to Astro. FAIL: The waffles are the same as before...soggy and/or under-cooked. It really wouldn't take much effort or expense to improve this. MEH: While the syrup is the same, you are now able to put on as much as you want.Even with the improvements, for the price you pay, there really should be more food or, preferably, better quality food. A tip though, should you get one of the Chicken and Waffle plates, if you get some BBQ sauce, you will be able to enjoy the fingers separately and then the waffles as a dessert!Come on CC&W, you are on the up swing...so let's go for the gold!

Had the chance to try them this past weekend at the Taste of Three Cities Food Truck festival. I order the Chicken and waffle combo, and choose the mac and cheese for the side. The chicken was dry, extremely dry. The waffle was horrible, tasted like it came out of a box. I ordered this for my 5 year old, who will eat Mac and cheese from anywhere, 5 nights a week. She took one bite and said it was disgusting. Maybe it was just a bad day, definitely not worth a second try.

I found this place on a whim, while searching for lunch in Franklin Square Park. Judging by the line, this was the place to be. Lengthy food truck lines pretty much tell me all I need to know. The chicken is lightly-seasoned and has the perfect "crisp". I love how doughy and sweet the waffle is. Having syrup is good, but really NOT necessary. There's also hot sauce, BBQ sauce and honey mustard toppings available. (Honey BBQ +honey mustard is a good mix, btw.)**Last Thursday (02/27) was their last day at Franklin Square Park until April. Please know that I hightailed it over to get...something, anything. I ended up with the banana pudding, which was SO good. While waiting for my change, I snuck a taste. It was SO GOOD, than I ended up ordering another one.Everything's made to order, so it's well worth the wait.

I tried the food truck while taking a late lunch. The service was nice. The wait was longer than expected. I got the boat combo. I received 3 chicken tenders and a little waffle. The breading on the chicken was good. The chicken was juicy. But the meat itself lacked flavor. It seem like they don't season the chicken. Seems as if they just season the flour or breading. I prefer like well seasoned meat. But that's just me. The chicken was just ok. Nothing to rave about. The waffle was tough and tasteless. It appeared to be whole grain. But I could be mistaken. It was more like tough bread than a waffle. I received the food without syrup. I had to ask for syrup for chicken and waffles. When I asked I was told I had to pour myself in little cups provided but there wasn't any tops. Lets just say I walked back to work. The syrup was watery and tasteless as well. I should have looked over reviews before I ate there but it was late and I didn't want to walk to far. But I'm always open to 2nd chances. Next time I'm going to get sides instead of waffles and chicken wings and see what happens. Hopefully it'll be better than my first.

CHICKEN AND WAFFLES! Heck yes... absolutely! Gimme Gimme Gimme! Kimmy Gibler! So, I go up and am trying to get a taste of this shiz. After all, I just had visited another food truck and gotten a full meal #Glutton. Ok, so there is a little chicken and waffle combo for like 5.50. Deal! There's about like 10 sauces on the front ledge you get to choose from. Get the hot sauce - that's delish - the honey mustard is great too. So, what about the waffles and chicken. I have to say... they were just mediocre. The waffles were a little not-so-fresh tasting. The chicken was decent but nothing special. Good drunk food? Yes Good authentic chicken and waffle street food...? MEH
