Really solid late night food option on the weekends. I enjoyed the sweet chilli wings, but the beef patty?!?! *chef's kiss* Unfortunately the line can get long when the clubs let out, but it's worth it given the limited options near by.

Really neat spot went here for the Black Business Bar Crawl this past weekend. I cannot speak to the drinks but the vibe and music was just what the doctor ordered. They have a downstairs set up think underground basement party. I did enjoy how both floors had a different DJ so you could migrate between the two. I took off points because they servie food and while I was told the food is amazing I was turnt off that you have to go outside and stand outside to order and wait for your food which will be served through a window. This establishment would serve to do not wuite full service but at minimum allow people to order the food inside and be served within; even if served within disposable containers to eliminate clean up and the need for waitresses. This is the reason for my decline in points. If you are going to serve food to your patrons, do not require them to go outside in cold temps to patronize especially when they are patronizing you inside.

I always love coming here. I only come at night but apparently there's brunch and things to do there before the sun goes down but I've yet to experience it. The dance floor in the basement is comfortable and the DJs always get it right. The bar on the main level is a little smaller than it could be but they manage the space well when people don't just stand around crowding it. The drinks are good and there's a couple frozen options that are not bad at all. The café on the side has amazing food. Sometimes I just show up for the food and vibe a little with the party. The service is pretty quick. The truffle fries are great! The burgers are good. The mac and cheese is phenomenal!!! They've got good patties and coco bread. This place is a surprise treat on all fronts.

I visited this place, looking for an after hours place that had live music and good drinks. The place was cool and as it didn't have live music, it did have a DJ. The best thing about this place that it had a mix crowd. You know a business is doing some right when it can attract all ethnicities and nationalities. I only stayed here for about 30 mins and ordered one drink, so I can't add anything else. However, when I come back I'll revisit this review.

The answer is YES! The food here is good and authentic! Yum, yum, yummy, yum! This is some of the best Jerk food I've had in a long time. The drinks were standard, but the food was so good who cares? My friend doesn't even like spicy food but was still blown away. Everything we had was good. The jerk wings, rice and peas, coco bread, and chicken patty were top tier. The kitchen is open late and they take To-Go orders. We got our food at about 1am. There's a bar on top level and dance floor downstairs. This place gets packed after midnight. The crowd is very diverse and the music alternates between hip hop, reggae, and Latin. Good times, great food! Come as you are. No dress code.

I would like to start my sentence with two snaps and two claps! A round of applause for the best bar and food experiences this entire year thus far !I must admit it will be pretty darn hard to out shine this establishment in my personal opinion! So, let's dive in! I visited this wonderful restaurant after my Cherry Blossom race! I absolutely loved the friendliness and attentiveness of the bar tender! I visited a bar right before this one and the crowd was not nearly as crowded as this location and yet their service does not compare ! ( enough about them)The bartender handled the busy and demanding customers with a breeze ! I was very much impressed! However, what impressed me most was how she handled me with care . She checked in regularly and made sure I was taken care of ! Oh! She also remembered my name !Now, the food and drinks deserve their own category! I've never tasted jerk wings and max n cheese from any restaurant as delicious as this place! I shared my high regards to my friends who ordered duplicates ! Compliments to the chef !The vibes and music was just the cherry on top! My overall experience was a 10/10 and I'm super picky !

This DC bar is a classic and has been a staple for quite some time. I've never actually been here for dinner, but it's my go-to spot for late-night parties. If you want to experience how the locals really get down, this is the place to be. I've lost count of how many times I've visited, and what I love is that the bartenders are consistently friendly. But the real gem is the basement - it's the definition of packed, sweaty fun, and it never disappoints in delivering a great time.

I've walked by Cafe St. Ex for years and finally stopped by to check out one of my favorite DJs. The upstairs is pretty small but they have outdoor seating as well.The basement doesn't open until about 11pm on Thursdays but it was all about the vibes. The daiquiri I had did the job. It was the only drink I needed all night. I LOVE that their kitchen is open until 2am and it has a side window along 14th street. The only downside is that they didn't let me order from the kitchen while I was inside at the bar (but maybe it's a late night policy) The truffle fries were nice as well. St. Ex can never replace some of the nightlife that used to be on U St. but it's still a vibe

Necie! I've been to Saint Ex multiple times and it's Always a great time. However, I seemed to have an even better experience meeting Necie She made me feel like a friend and favorite. She is a unique talent that should be explored and replicated. A true leader through her professionalism and customer expertise. I hope I go to her establishment next!
