Brandee H. "Generally, we had a great experience for a special birthday. The meat, appetizers and drinks were phenomenal. The sides left a little to be desired, in my opinion. We ordered a Wagyu ribeye, lamb chops, wedge salad, macaroni and cheese and whipped potatoes. For dessert, we chose the S'more. The server was very attentive, and they swiftly moved to clean the table for the next course. The complimentary bread and french fry pseudo appetizer is unique and just about perfect! I loved the dipping sauces and the fries were fresh, hot and plentiful. The meat was cooked perfectly, and I was surprised to see that my lamb chops also included a good portion of roasted carrots, which was a huge bonus ! The other sides were a little runny in my opinion. The mac & cheese was extremely loose and bland and the mashed potatoes were flavorful but had a "sauce " consistency. I love that they box your food, and hold it at the front desk so you don't have to fumble with everything walking out. Overall, we will definitely be back, they had some really interesting craft cocktails id liketo try and potentially just sit at the bar. This is definitely a great date spot, somewhere for a nice occasion or generally for a great steak!"

Britny N. "I really had high hopes for this place and was looking forward to it because of all the good reviews. Upon entering, I was immediately turned off. The place itself seems kind of dirty, stuffy & dusty. We ordered arancini, which I was very excited to try, but I'm not sure why they tasted strange. They tasted like they were either made a while ago and frozen and have freezer burn or tasted kind of soapy. For our entrees we ordered rigatoni with eggplant (added meatballs) and my husband had a pesto shrimp dish (I don't remember the name). These were surprisingly pretty good. I liked the big chunks of eggplant but I do think there was too much sauce. I also ordered a cocktail, it was their Palermo and I'm so sorry, it was horrible. We had to ask the waiter to take it back and I just got a glass of wine. Overall I just really don't think it was worth it, each of our dishes were $30. I know people really love this place, this was just my experience."

Sharon W. "We hadn't been to Rio in a few years and were curious to see the changes, including the deck bar at Copper Canyon Grill. It was a chilly overcast day and the outside bar was closed. Honestly it looked rather basic but maybe when it's open there's a lot more ambiance. We were seated in the restaurant in the year round enclosed patio. The windows were all closed and there were heaters running so it was quite comfortable. We were by the windows overlooking the board walk. It was nice to see people doing their steps, pushing baby carriages and/or walking their dogs. I could be wrong but the menu seemed a little different than last time we'd been there with more lighter choices. There were a number of items that sounded good to me. I started off with a bourbon and ginger ale, Rich ordered an old fashioned. Both drinks were perfect, mine that just the right balance of alcohol and mixer. After our waiter took our entree orders he asked if we had any allergies. I thought that was a very smart policy of the restaurant. I had the crab cake sandwich. I skipped the bun and ate the crab cake alone. As a life long Marylander I've eaten a lot of crab cakes in my life and Copper Canyon's was one of the best I've had. It was full of lump crab meat with little filler. The side dish was a pile of crispy shoe string fries, my favorite style. Rich had fish and chips, the fries were wedge cut. I tasted the fish and the batter was nice and crispy. The restaurant is clean and attractive and the service was very good. All in all a very pleasant meal."

Gail R. "I like coming to this restaurant. Usually the food/drinks I get have always been good. This visit was no exception. We got here early one weekend afternoon - the lot was partially filled, but the area of the restaurant we were seated in only had (I would say) two other parties at the time and it was almost empty. However, within 40 minutes that whole section was packed.I started off with a glass of Lux Ice Wine, but after my first sip, I decided to get the bottle instead (it was a celebration and I thought, why not). The bottle was served in a thick steel canister that kept my wine chilled for sure. If you like sweet wines, you should try the Ice wine. I had tasted it on a prior visit, and it became one of my favorites here. For food, I got the Red Wine Braised Short Ribs. The menu describes it as being served with Oven-Roasted Vegetables, Mary's Potatoes, Grainy Dijon Mustard Butter, and Crispy Onion Strings. I didn't ask how or what Mary's Potatoes were and didn't let mustard or onion strings stop me from eating this meal. I knew most of my plate was empty afterwards, so it must have been good. Our waiter was Gregory, and his service, attention, and pleasantness is another reason I would come back here (besides the food/drink). He provided excellent service.Visited December 2024"

Kristen H. "Nestled on Georgetown's quaint Prospect Street just off bustling M Street, Peacock Cafe stands out in the neighborhood's competitive dining scene with a legacy that spans over three decades. My party of five made a reservation for 6:30 pm, and we were glad we did - the cafe was packed, with diners filling both the lively interior and expansive outdoor patio. Given the mild October evening, we didn't mind sitting outside; in fact, it was a nice escape from the bustling energy inside. The cafe's exterior is adorned with a classic cobalt blue awning and boasts wicker chairs and marble-topped tables on the patio, while the interior balances a sophisticated restaurant vibe with a cozy bar atmosphere, ambient lighting, and booths ideal for any type of occasion. The menu is impressively varied, featuring everything from traditional appetizers, soups, and salads to burgers, large-format entrées, and even a few Middle Eastern-inspired dishes like Qaymeh (a lamb stew) and Albaloo Polo (roasted half chicken). Our server was attentive and considerate, quickly taking our order before a large party inside. Each table receives complimentary warm rolls with butter to start - they're soft and ciabatta-like, making for a delightful opener. The portion sizes at Peacock Cafe are generous, and the flavors shine. One of my friends ordered the Seafood Jambalaya ($29.95), a vibrant dish with mussels, shrimp, cod, salmon, and saffron-infused basmati rice, all enveloped in a rich tomato sauce. Another friend enjoyed the Roasted Scottish Salmon ($29.95), paired with grilled sweet potato, asparagus, and salsa verde; the salmon was perfectly cooked and generously portioned, while the vegetables were nicely roasted and flavorful. Another standout was the Crab and Pesto Risotto ($29.95), served with lump blue crab and Parmesan. Though the crab blended into the creamy risotto, the flavors were nuanced and balanced, with the risotto cooked to a perfect, slightly creamy consistency. One of the most popular dishes, the Rigatoni Pasta with Chicken ($21.95), features al-dente rigatoni in a rose sauce of slow-braised tomatoes, light cream, and basil. The sauce had a balanced richness with a touch of acidity, and the chicken was moist and well-portioned - a must-try if you're craving comfort food. I opted for the Grilled Steak Salad ($25.95), which came with mixed greens, asparagus, Gorgonzola cheese, and balsamic vinaigrette. They happily accommodated my request for the steak to be cooked medium-rare, and the portion (around 4-6 oz of tender sirloin) was ideal, with a tender bite. The salad's crisp greens and asparagus paired well with the tangy vinaigrette, and the goat cheese added a pleasant, creamy contrast.Overall, Peacock Cafe is an excellent option for a reliable, flavorful dinner in Georgetown. The food is deliciously satisfying, portions are generous, and the ambiance exudes Georgetown charm, making it perfect for upscale dinners with family, date nights, or a night out with friends. With warm service and a comfortable atmosphere, this spot has rightly earned its reputation as a classic in the area!"

Maryland is known for their fresh and tasty Crab Cakes, I was not going to miss out. The Blue Dolphin exceeded my expectations. Our group ordered a variety of dishes, from seafood to chicken and ribs. The portions were huge, the service was quick and our Server, Jennifer, was the best! Even though it was a busy Friday night, she was very attentive and so friendly. The Crabs Cakes come as a platter with two side dishes, I chose sautéed potatoes and spinach with Remoulade sauce. Most places offer tartar or cocktail sauce. If they have remoulade, you know you're having the real deal!! The Crab cake was a solid mound of Crab meat, not a lot of bread crumbs or filler. I tried my best to finish, I even took a break and still could not finish this delicious meal. Christal W. "So immediately I will say first that we were influenced to try Carbonara from seeing it all over social media. So we go. Parking is plentiful nearby. The weather's decent for February and we arrive on time thankfully, after an hour and a half trek from the southern end of MD. Wait staff are convening outside hustling and bustling. The vibes are great. We had reservations, and we were immediately seated and offered prosciutto (no one seemed to mention that you're offered it, in their pics posts and videos from what I saw). That was a great welcome. It's pretty busy for a Wednesday, and everything seems to be managed well. We were escorted to our table and it was pretty small..although I understand why (it's just two of us), I really preferred something larger. I hesitated to ask for a booth because I understand the logistics of saving space for larger parties, but we came to eat. It was our first visit and we wanted to try all the things! In the end tho, our plates were always removed and our dishes were timed out so that we always had enough space and time to enjoy our food so that was a plus. And onto the food-in one word-phenomenal!!! At one point a gentleman came by and asked how everything was and all I could do was give him a look and he said that it was just the look that he was looking for lol. Our starters were the Prince Edward mussels and mozzarella in carrozza. Our mains were tortellini di Michael and hubby had king of the sea. For dessert we had the crème brûlée cheesecake and I ordered a French 75 cocktail. It was all magnificent. The food was flavorful and rich in the most perfect way. The tortellini dish consisted of brisket inside of the pasta and the mouthful and mouth feel of the pasta with nice actual pieces of brisket (not a puréed concoction) combined with the cream sauce and mushrooms were literally chef's kiss! I also indulged in some of my husband's dish and it was equally impressive with succulent seafood, the right amount of sauce and linguine cooked to perfection! My husband loved how perfectly cooked his pasta was (he loathes overcooked pasta) and he loved peas so this dish made him very happy. He loved mine too to be honest. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that they give you a nice bread basket with two dipping sauces to start your meal. I loved the bread (it was a little too herbaceous for my husband) and sauces. We both agreed that the marinara one was a problem, in the most positive way! We couldn't get enough of it. Also the wait staff was kind, efficient, offered suggestions for our meal and dessert since it was our first time and were that way with everyone. There was absolutely nothing that I could have asked more from this wonderful midweek date night meal. At the end of it all, we sat there over dessert, planning what we were going to have for our next visit..because that is definitely happening sooner rather than later. We also immediately rate our meal amongst ourselves after every date night and we both scored this one a 10/10! We can't wait to return."

Nessa R. "I've been to 1799 twice, once for dinner on their patio and once for brunch inside. Never reviewed my dinner occasion but let's do Brunch! We were instructed by a sign on the main gate to use the bar entrance, bar is small, probably fits 15 people, super small. I wouldn't come just for the bar, too small for my liking. You are led down a hall to the main dining area. It was super empty on a Sunday (1/12) and with a brunch that is super competitive in price you'd think it would have been busy. It wasn't. Parking is a bit of a nightmare, it's Old Town so like most DMV places, use a garage near by or simply try to get street parking. Let's get into it! Waffle Station: Small but the waffle was delicious! The condiments are away from the one waffle maker/area, so kinda cumbersome to maneuver. Crab Legs/Shrimp: Plentiful - Good Omelette: Delicious and Made to Order, they have crab, shrimp, anything you want to add it in! Our favorite! Salad Bar: Small but does the job! No Ranch but I asked and they delivered! Mac and Cheese: Just okay.Fruit: They do not have a fruit station just a few for the waffle and pineapple randomly near the salad area. Beverages: We are Boozy Brunchers but they do not have an all you can drink option. We opted not to enjoy brunch drinks since we knew we'd be drinking all day plus, they didn't have a standard mimosa on the brunch options. Okay so I'm at a solid 3 for 1799, I remember my steak was wonderful for dinner, don't remember the sides, but if I didn't review, I wasn't impressed. Service was lacking. The waitress was hard to find even on a slow day. She had a guaranteed tip so boo for us! Sad Face :( My love had to keep asking for refills, ummmm yes the cup is empty, that means he needs another. And we had to keep flagging her down. My Treat This Time! When paying, I noticed a credit card fee. What in the world? What if I wanted to pay cash? So weird. I wish restaurants would just raise their prices because adding an extra $4-5 dollars to a bill is tacky. Super tacky! So everyone is paying the credit card fee? So when it's said and done, $140 for two people for a non-boozy brunch? We'd likely pass and take our foodie talents to Lamani or Old Faithful Sequoia. Those are the best in DC. (Four Seasons too, it's just more expensive.) Ambiance is normal, I wouldn't consider this fine dining at all. The customer service is lacking and the food isn't leaving a lasting impression.
