The service is quick and seamless with nice staff. The vibes are also super cute with a very decorated bar. Great place for a date. The only constructive criticism I would add is that their food has a little too much oil but it's not enough for me to stop coming here :)"

We got drunken noodled goong gleur, and duck roll. The drunken noodle was a generous portion and the goong gleur was seasoned very well (just wish we had it fresh and crispy at the restaurant). One thing I would pass on is the duck roll, the wrap was a little thick and took away from the flavor of the duck. I will definitely try the ka prow next time if I want some duck. Overall, we enjoyed the food and they also gave us a reusable Thai Ghang waan store bag in which our take out food was in!"

Kathy K. "My husband and I decided we wanted thai food for dinner and knew where to go! We were greeted with a smile and seated right away with a menu of drink and food specials along with regular menus. Water was given as we were checking out the menus. Our lovely waiter was so quick and our waters filled the entire time! Never once had to ask. We started off with edamame and tum yum soups. My soup was with tofu (no tomato) and my husband got one of their specials which was wonton Tom yum(no tomato). We both enjoyed the spicy level and the lightly salted edamame. Both got Pad Thai level 5 spicy but I got mine with soft tofu and he had chicken. Spicy level was perfect! Nice and hot when it got to us too. Dessert was an easy choice as I had seen the special on the table top before we even ordered our regular food. Fried pineapple ice cream! It was just the right amount to share and tasted sweet but not too sweet. It was a really balanced dish esp. with the mint leaf. It's always a pleasure coming here and looking at all the spider plants they have on the walls. I can't keep mine alive but they can keep 10+ alive and thriving lol Polite and friendly staff. Always ready for any questions you have or just simply asking how everything was. Delicious! Next time I'm getting the mango sticky rice dessert!"

Jerry S. "Charming indeed. This little hole in the wall a couple of doors down from the old Post Office would not have caught my attention but for a rebate offer from Upside. Definitely worth it. Volcano soup, despite the name, has just a nice tickle of heat. With shrimp, scallops, squid, fresh mushrooms, and tomatoes in a rich stock with coconut milk and cilantro, the addition of some rice or noodles would make it a fine lunch.Noodles Lover was a fun special. Huge, flat noodles much like southern chicken and pastry, in another complex, nicely balanced broth, with seafood, vegetables, and fried tofu. The white fungus, much like the black fungus/tree ear often seen in Chinese soups, is there for appearance and texture rather than flavor.Downsides: Squid was overcooked and under flavored, and there was way too much tofu. Jasmine tea was served with the bag still in the cup. I was halfway through the meal before it was strong enough to be worth sipping. Very cordial service. Clean unisex bathroom with a keyholder that will provoke a grin. So, I was pleased but not thrilled, and I agree with the consensus 4 **** rating. If you're in downtown Silver Spring and would like to try the traditional Thai flavors without scorching your sinuses, this is a good choice."

However, this was just a 30 min Uber ride from Maryland, not bad. Let's talk about the crab fried rice. Did you look at the picture? It was amazing! The spring rolls were a bit greasy but were good. The pineapple fried rice was super delicious too. Parking: I ubered and glad I did. Parking is free after 9 pm on the street and there are parking lots near the restaurant. Customer service: Staff was great. Super accommodating,Ambiance: This is a low key place to come eat. Paper napkins wrapped over the flatware type of restaurant. Overall, great food! We came in on an early Wednesday evening and the restaurant was wide open. Usually that's not a good sign but we stuck to the dinner plan because of all the positive reviews on Yelp. The restaurant is nicely decorated with a bunch of Thai decor and props. The menu is similar to any Thai restaurant. They have all the staples like pad Thai or pineapple fried rice. Not much of a beer selection but they do have a full bar if you want a cocktail. On this occasion I settled with the Drunken Noodles and I was not disappointed. The dish was pack with flavors. It was a little sweet and spicy but it was not overpowering. They served a generous portion as well. Another big plus is everything came in a timely manner and our waiter provided great customer service. LaShawn G. "I would have to say this food was really good for me and my co-worker just looking through Yelp trying to see which this place we going to chose from. So with anything you know the prices going to be a little higher than going to the actual restaurant when you ordering delivery. I went through ChowNow which states all monies go to the restaurant and not half to like the other services. So I order enough food to last me for dinner and my lunch for the next day at work. My order consisted of spicy pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp, a chicken wonton soup spicy, garlic noodles extra spicy with chicken, and a thai tea. Now the food was real good, fresh, and hot so I would give them a 3.5 maybe even 3.75 stars because we ordered when they first opened so to get the freshest food possible. Reason for the lower stars is because there was no silverware in the bag. Now we are ordering at work so I didn't know nowadays you have to ask for plastic ware to be with your food. But that was a surprise has to eat with a spoon. But even with that mishap I would definitely order from them again! Maybe even tomorrow! lol"

Jill C. "Stopped here after a hair appointment to grab some lunch that wasn't fast food, and the fellow Yelp reviews persuaded me. A young man greeted me, and I asked to place an order to go. He handed me their menu but I read here to ask for their daily lunch specials. It was a handwritten list of 5-6 options, so I went for the Massaman Curry Chicken and added an order of spring rolls. They quoted a 10-minute wait, but it was bagged and ready for me in more like 5! I ate it at home, 20 minutes away, and it was still warm! The spring rolls were nice and crispy with a flavorful dipping sauce that wasn't too sweet like some others I've had. The lunch portion was a very good size and value. (This could have been an ample portion for dinner too, esp with the addition of spring rolls that I didn't have to share!) One side of the plastic portioned container had the yellow curried chicken and potatoes in sauce, and the other side had the jasmine rice with a vegetable mix of broccoli and thinly sliced carrot rounds. The Massaman curry was well-seasoned and flavorful; you could clearly taste the balance of spices and coconut milk. Delicious!I'll definitely be coming here again when I have the occasion to be in Burke."

We ordered their crispy chicken wings, pad thai, and Thai basil fried rice. Since we opted for the lunch portions, we were delighted to receive two complimentary appetizers: veggie spring rolls and veggie dumplings. The entrees were nothing short of amazing. Each dish was bursting with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. The appetizers were not bad but they weren't as good as the entrees. The veggie dumplings and spring rolls were crunchy on the outside, but the inside texture was a tad disappointing, feeling somewhat soggy or slimy. The standout dish for me was the Thai Basil Fried Rice. It was absolutely incredible, with the perfect balance of spices and fresh ingredients. It's a dish I would come back for time and time again. The service at Siam Spice was exceptional. The staff was sweet, super accommodating, and ensured we had a great dining experience. IMO, the bathroom says a lot about any establishment. The service staff was a little odd almost like it wasn't the year 2024 nor were they giving professional staff energy. The food: the "spring rolls" were NOT spring rolls. They were skinny egg rolls and the sauce proved it...duck sauce and not fish sauce. Some people may like that cabbage filling, but call it what it really is. The eel and avocado rollers horrendous! Thick, doughy rice with chewy, fatty eel pieces. Miso soup was so salty...why?! The chicken pad see ew was actually tasty and so was the chicken stir fry. I can see ordering to go items if you're a local , but would not go for a sit down meal again."

The balloon decor on the ceiling really did something positive for me as I couldn't stop staring at it and kept pointing out the inflatable sharks and surfboards. Also, it did smell like I was inside of a balloon (I'm assuming the decor was fresh) BUT, don't fret it did not take away from the fantastic food and service. To the real reason of this review, this is my favorite Thai place. I have not had one bad meal here and I look forward to trying much of their stuff on their menu. I opted for their champion pad thai (did indeed make me feel like a champion). Adam R. "Nice enough folks, but very poor execution. We ordered the Tom Yum soup, a chicken Satay skewer, and the beef Pad Thai. The beef in the pad thai was very hard/tough meat, the sauce was SUPER sweet, and the overall flavors were very off-putting. We didn't even end up finishing the pad thai because it was just outright bad. (Yes I've had a ton of Thai food before, from a variety of Thai restaurants all over the US) I'm aware that depending on the dish and how it's prepared there might be a touch of sweetness due to the inclusion of either coconut milk or peanut sauce. Their pad thai was GROSSLY over-sweetened. Maybe a regional thing - not sure about that but most assurely the most sugary and unappetizing thai food we've ever tried to eat. Tom yum was very tomato-y (think liquid tomato juice out of a can) and mid, at best. The satay was decent, but literally just a stick of barely seasoned chicken. In general, I love Thai food but can't stand sweet dishes. Unfortunately we would never go here again nor recommend it to anyone else looking for fresh, well prepared Thai in the downtown DC area."
