"Decent $12 lunch special for ramen, close to work and convenient. Service is quick and pleasant. I'm not a fan of the "hole in the wall" aesthetic. It's one thing to be one, but another thing to literally just not spruce up the place... at all. School chairs for seats is insane for a dine in experience outside of a school. Anyway, I will go back for the affordable ramen for lunch during the cold season my food was tasty and hearty and the vibe of the place is chill and you can tell everyone's letting their hair down."
"I wanted to pick a good place for a little celebration and I have a lot of picky eaters in my family. My son loves ramen and my wife loves a good okonomiyaki. It's not always easy to find both but this place does both fairly well. I really like the ambience in here. It's clean and modern. The service was notably great as well. I thought my Ramen was absolutely delicious, made in a shoyu base with a side of karaage. What stood out was our gyoza appetizer. The okonomiyaki also delivered and the sushi was decent as well. As for value, the portions are big and you really shouldn't leave hungry. There's a lot of good choices for food in this area and this is one of them. We did drink some warm sake, so if you do imbibe like I do, raise your glass and cheers to a dry glass."

"Kusshi in downtown Bethesda offers an exceptional dining experience with fresh, expertly prepared sushi and generous portions. The chicken katsu, salmon avocado hand roll, sushi roll, dragon roll, and salmon teriyaki were all delicious, with the sushi's freshness and quality standing out. Entrée portions were generous, leaving us with leftovers for the next day, and the pricing was reasonable given the quality and size. The staff were accommodating, and the kid-friendly atmosphere made it perfect for a family outing. For dessert, the mochi was a delightful ending, with the sesame flavor being our favorite. Kusshi seamlessly combines great food, attentive service, and a welcoming ambiance, making it a place we're eager to revisit."
"Craving som ramen and this place happened to be walking distance from our hotel so we decided to try it out. Came on a Sunday evening not too busy but still lots of people enjoying their evening. The service was great and our waiter took our order and food came out promptly. Our kids loved the ramen and chicken skewers. We also ordered some sushi and it was delicious. Great place to grab a bite of ramen and sushi if your in the mood passing by DC area"
"Still one of my favorite places for Ramen but now they have Khao Mun Gai!!Steam chicken with rice cook in chicken fatty broth. Everything about this dish is basic Thai comfort food. It also come with side broth and spicy sauce to eat with the chicken and rice. I love but if you don't like steam chicken you get it fried with crispiness yuzu Lychee sake- Bomb delicious, don't taste the alcahol but you will feel it . I can drink so much of this because it sweet but refreshing at the same time"
"We absolutely loved the sushi as it was very fresh and delicious. The miso soup that proceeded it was the best we've ever tasted. We had the rainbow roll & Philadelphia Roll, the spicy, crunchy, salmon roll, Phoenix roll, dragon roll and the shrimp tempura roll. The nice thing is that it is a little bit of a fast food sushi, so it doesn't take too long. There is limited seating, but it's a family room business for 10 years and we would definitely recommend going here over any kind of sit down business."
"Family-owned ramen bar with fantastic sushi. They use fresh in-house clean-label bone broths and ramen that are amalgamated with just the right combination to tantalize both the traditional and modern Japanese and Western palates.I had the Kizuna ramen and it was delicious! Premium Aburi Chashu (high grade pork belly carved and rolled, marinated overnight, braised for over 7 hours, chilled, sliced, and then chargrilled to smoky, tender perfection), delightful ramen noodles that are perfectly cooked and textured, and your usual ramen accoutrements, topped with a perfectly cooked and sliced Ramen Egg (Ajitsuke Tamago). Jinya ramen really can't compare with this, in my opinion. if you get the chance to meet the owner Rock or his family members, be sure to ask them about the story of the restaurant. it's a warm combination of east meets west!"
"Chanced upon a reservation before a show at the Atlantis. It exceeded expectations ... the selection of drinks was pretty stellar (not much wine but tons of everything else and lots of specialty and Japanese drinks). Our server was amazing (Andria maybe?) and food and drink came quickly and it was so hot and fresh and delicious. Knocking of a star because the ambience isn't really there. It's just blah. It needs some cushions or plants or stones or just something. Would recommend for food - ramen was especially tasty! And there's a vegan option with eggless noodles."
"I came here with my family and oh my goodness it was SO GOOD. Each of us had different kinds of ramen broth, and I cannot tell you which was the best because they were all so richly complex and amazing. It was just what I needed on a cold and rainy day. The menus and decor are cute but nothing fancy. I'd definitely be a regular if I lived closer. Our waitress was really kind and attentive with our water refills.Hot tip: the boba comes from next door, so in our case that meant it arrived after we had finished our meals. I'd skip the boba just for that awkward timing alone, but it also just wasn't very good (and they were out of taro!) Not docking any stars since the boba wasn't in house, but I do wish they'd had more fun drink options or at least told us the boba was slow or delayed."
"our second time dining here. there is a lunch special that includes any size ramen, a side, and a drink for $21.50i love spicy food and soup: kara miso ramen is excellent.decor is cozy. not a large location, but in a great spot. you will have to pay for parkingservice has always been prompt and friendly i received my order maybe 5 minutes after ordering!"
"My friends and I had dinner here before catching a show at the Kennedy Center and we really enjoyed ourselves! The waitress was very kind and attentive while we were there. We were there during happy hour, which was a nice surprise, as well. We started with the gyoza and the age tofu, both of which were very good. You get more tofu than you see in the photo, I just barely remembered to grab a photo of them because we were hungry sorry. My friend had the chicken hibachi entree which he really enjoyed. I had a Pink Lady roll and a Shrimp Tempura roll, both of which were SO good, especially the Pink Lady roll. The happy hour price really sweetens the deal, too. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would definitely come back."
"Fast as usual and delicious. Love their Yuzu Shio Delight ramen (nice thin noodle, delicious soup base, everything just right). See my photo. Well packaged for easy pick up."

Decent place, very casual and very fun. I came here alone for dinner, and I was seated shortly after joining the Yelp waitlist. It seems like it gets busy but turnover is quite quick, so that was nice. I ordered the creamy truffle chicken ramen, which was a special, and quite enjoyed it! The truffle taste was a bit mild, but the broth was creamy and savoury. The noodles were a little more cooked than I like them, but overall a good bowl of noodles for a decent price. I came here instead of Daikaya, so no idea how it stacks up, but still a delicious dinner steps away.

This is my go-to ramen spot in the Rockville area and I have yet to find a place that tops it. This spot is not very large but the aesthetic is very inviting and homey feeling. There is an open kitchen where you can see your ramen being made and assembled. My boyfriend would order the Akira ramen usually for the black garlic oil, but decided to switch it up one day with the Shrimp Tempura ramen. The tempura was fried perfectly without being oily or soggy and there was a nice crunch when he bit it. The shrimp inside was not overcooked either, it also had a sweetness to it. The broth was hearty without being heavy which is the same broth for the Akira ramen. On days I am feeling for some hearty warm soup, I always order the Akira Volcano Spicy ramen. The spice level does not overpower the pork broth but it compliments it well. Occasionally, if the broth does not have enough of a kick, I'll add a scoop or two of the togarashi spice that is at table side. During the summer, I don't always crave for the soup so I will opt for the Spicy Tsuke Niku with udon noodles. The udon noodles seem like they are freshly made with the perfect chewy bounce when bitten into. The presentation of the noodles is also very beautiful as all toppings come separate in their own containers and it is up to the consumer to assemble to their taste. I usually add everything and pour the dipping sauce in than dipping the noodles. The sauce has a light soy taste without the saltiness. Additionally, whenever we go, we'll get an appetizer to go with our noodles of choice. Our go to is the takoyaki (octopus balls), the ratio of octopus to batter is even and never soggy. The bonito flakes are ample and the sauce is balanced that the balls do not become deflated. We have tried their other options like the karaage (fried chicken) served with a spicy mayo and wasabi mayo sauce. The pieces are on the smaller side but the flavor is present. We also tried the okonomiyaki (stuffed pancake) which is filled with seafood, veggies and egg topped with sauces and bonito (fish) flakes. We thought it was just ok and it could have been due to the long wait for it or that it was soggier than expected. The flavor is nice but nothing that made me want to have it again.

This is my third time dinning at Kusshi in downtown Bethesda and have mixed feelings about my experience. The food was undeniably good. The sushi was fresh, the flavors were spot on, and the presentation was appealing. However, the service was absolutely terrible. We were immediately seated at the bar, and from what we could see, the restaurant was empty. Our first server was not a bartender but worked to get our drinks made and food order in. Despite the quick seating, the service soon took a turn for the worse. It's a shame because the food has potential, but the poor service overshadowed what could have been a pleasant dining experience. I hope Kusshi can address these issues because good food deserves equally good service.

We came in and had a quick dinner. The yakisoba noodles, curry ramen, and spicy chicken ramen were all good. The grilled chicken on the spicy chicken ramen was especially good.

I got the chance to visit Umai with my wife recently and had a great experience. This venue only seats about 25-30 in total. Unfortunately, they do not take reservations but they do have a waiting list. The wait time for us was about 15 mins. The server was great and did a great job. He had great energy and great recommendations. We tried the seaweed salad and karaage chicken to start. My wife ended up getting the Umai Curry Ramen and I got the Ebi Fry Curry. Both amazing dishes. Definitely a great experience.

Best around as far as I know. I always get the sushi platter and a hot dish (tonkatsu pork curry this time). I eat the sushi for a couple days at home. I don't think I'll go anywhere else lol. This place is great and the guy at the front counter is always so nice and happy to have my business. It's a small place to sit and eat at, but the tables are still nice to sit at if you can find one available. I really don't have anything bad to say. Solid place and excellent sushi!

This place is a gem! Beautiful restaurant, I went for lunch with friends and it was quiet but lovely. The staff were very kind. I love that they have both sushi and ramen. The sushi was very good, I wish the spicy mayo was mixed into the spicy tuna instead of put on top, but otherwise the food was delicious. Vegan options are alright but not phenomenal. The shio ramen was divine! There's only one other place that has ramen this good that I've tried.

Overall a great place for both food and drinks!! We missed happy hour which ended at 7 sadly.I got the crab ragoons, which has a jalapeño jelly, which I actually enjoyed! Also the spicy ramen which had a bit of a kick to it in the broth and I loved it! Might be one of the best ramen I've had! That ramen is huge just as an FYI. I thought about getting the meal deal they have with an appetizer and small ramen included but was worried about how small it would actually be.One issue I had was the online menu not matching their menu in the restaurant. I planned to get a drink from that online menu was disappointed to hear it was out of date. I ended up getting the prickly pear frozen margarita, which I enjoyed!

"Nice spot, pretty clean, great sushi. The service is a bit slow though, and a few times I've had wave down the server ti come check on our table, thus in more than one visit. Overall good experience for what you get of food value."
"$23.10 (food: veggie spring roll, Singapore noodle with chicken. Drink: water.) Absolute Noodle & Sushi Bar monologue:One day, I saw this lady enjoying her meal, in a cute outfit, sitting outside, with her dog. I had a brief conversation with her and she highly recommend this restaurant and the meal I ordered. I came back a few days later. I sat inside (only because it pretty cool outside), at the bar and was greeted moments later. I ordered my appetizer and my meal (see above). The spring roll was delicious and got me excited with anticipation of my main dish, the noodles. Yum and yum was my reaction. It was a nice serving, that I did finish while sitting there. The flavors were dancing in my mouth to the beat of whatever tune that may have been playing at the local bar down the street. Yeah, I was satisfied.I do recommend that you visit this restaurant and try whatever items you are craving. I have a feeling you will say "yum and yum" too.P.S. - I think that visiting this restaurant, on a late comfortable summer evening, with a special friend, would make for a great date night. Just sayin..."
"Finally ate here after eating at essentially every other restaurant in this shopping center. I loved how cute the ambiance was, it felt like I was transported to another country, and it felt homey and small town vibes which I appreciated. I know they're known for ramen but ended up getting the pork katsu curry. The flavors of the curry were deep and flavorful, and the pork was breaded well with a nice tender cut of pork. I'd wanna come back for their ramen sometime. Service was good, very attentive!"
"This was our first time trying Toryumon after walking past it many times and I was pleasantly surprised! It is very nice inside with a full bar and a beautiful mural on the wall. We shared the bulgogi buns, we got a lychee martini and the Tokyo iced tea to drink, both strong but good. I got some tamago sushi, a sweet potato roll and the yummy roll, all very good, highly recommend. My boyfriend got the bulgogi entree dish, it was absolutely delicious and so flavorful. We ended the night with strawberry mochi which was just okay. The service was great, very nice and quick without rushing us. I can't wait to come back and try more things!!"
"I'm obsessed with this place and already planning when I can make another trip down so I can try more things on the menu. We went on a Friday afternoon and even though the restaurant itself is small we had no problem getting a table. The decorations/ambiance is so fun, bright and festive, even the bathrooms are decorated in bright crazy colors and decor. You can't help but smile while you are there. The food was amazing! We started with chicken potstickers which came with a peanut curry broth and Shishito peppers with bonito flakes and thick ponzu dipping sauce, both were delicious and I would absolutely order again. I had the Spider Tom Yum Ramen which was spicy and full of lemongrass flavor. The soft shell crab was perfectly fried. My friend had the Miso Ramen with jumbo shrimp which was equally delicious. The ramen was a perfect balance of broth to noodle. When you go be prepared to scan a QR code to see menu and order and pay. The process was actually very easy. I highly recommend this place!"
"Came here on a recent work trip after a very long day of travel. This place freaking rocks. I've never been to Tokyo but this made me feel as if I had been transported there. I believe I ordered the spicy Tonkotsu ramen and it was so good. A massive portion that I couldn't finish but it hit the spot with great presentation. Upstairs in the main dining room, they only serve beer and wine (and sake, I believe). However, there are some incredible cocktails at the speakeasy downstairs.Naturally I had to check it out because I'm a speakeasy nerd even though I was exhausted. It was so seriously cool. The stairwell itself was super cool and then there was a long hallway with a bunch of different doors so you weren't quite sure which was the one you were supposed to go into. I won't spoil it but the hallway is a sight to behold and once you find the bar/lounge it is covered in a fun Tokyo street art, more neon lights, and is just a really chill place. The drink menu has seasonal specials and so many amazing options. I don't remember the drink I had but it was extremely well done- it was so hard to choose. If I was in the area again, I would definitely come back here!"
"After a few trips to Kyuramen - we were able to try a variety of their dishes. We love getting the booths on either side (the honeycomb or more private booths) whenever possible. it really elevates the overall experience and enjoyment of our meal. Everything we tried was good - the rice bowls, ramen, appetizers, seems like Kyuramen cant do anything wrong when it comes to the food options. Be sure to at least try their special lemonade!"
"I enjoyed my potstickers and pad Thai. My husband could not eat his spicy tuna. Took one bite and said it left a horrible taste in his mouth. He threw it out."
"We stopped in on a whim and so glad we did! Staff was friendly, service was fast, and food was delicious! You can order on a kiosk or on paper if you build your own poke or bulgogi bowl. Or you can select one of their recommended creations. We both built our own poke bowls and everything was extra tasty! Tuna was fresh and so were the toppings. You get a lot of choices & most of it is included with no extra charge. Definitely give this place a try!"
"This ramen had no right to be so good. In fact, all the food my friends and I got at the market was 10/10. Finding a seat is a bit of a challenge, especially when it's cold and rainy out, but we just had to wait a few minutes and something opened up. Definitely would come to the market again and definitely would get the ramen. It was flavorful, the noodles were good, and the man at the register was very nice."
"I've driven by here a thousand times and never stopped to even look at this place. Came here for a quick bite before going to Trader Joe's. It's pretty good! I liked the regular tonkatsu ramen better than the spicy-- the spicy miso sauce is salty. I loved the chewy noodles! Chicken karaage was just okay; I wouldn't order again but my friend loved it. I thought it needed better breading. It's as if they chopped up the chicken and fried it with no batter. Service is fast. You order on the little monitor at the table. Ambiance is BEAUTIFUL! Just look at the photos other people uploaded. Soft dim lighting with tons of cherry blossom trees!"
"The hubby, my sister-in-law and I came here for lunch on 12/27/2023. This is a small restaurant and when we arrived there was no one else there. The server quickly brought over some waters and I immediately ordered a California roll. The California roll came out in record time and was enjoyable. The hubby got a green salad and it was quite delicious with a flavorful sesame dressing. The salad was simple with lettuce, cucumbers and sesame seeds, it was nice and fresh. For our entrees, I got the tonkotsu ramen with pork, the hubby got the same thing, but the spicy version and my sister-in-law also got the spicy tonkotsu ramen, but with chicken. We got our orders, however, my sister-in-law's order was wrong and had pork in it, she just rolled with it though. The tonkotsu was delicious! The broth was flavorful, but it could have had a more deep, rich, porky flavor, but it was great nonetheless. There was a lot of pork in the ramen and yummy all around. Service could have been better, the server didn't refill our empty water cups until asked despite an empty restaurant. Overall, he wasn't very attentive. Additionally, the menu says the ramen comes with bean sprouts and my sister-in-law asked for extra and the server said none of the ramen came with bean sprouts; they should update their menus. Otherwise, highly recommend!"
"So we went on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was pretty full. We were able to sit very quickly and the entire time every server was very attentive to all patrons. We placed our order and the food came out very quickly. The spicy gin Ramen was delicious and spicy and so much food I had to take more than half home. The restaurant was very clean. The ambience was nice. It was a little packed like the tables were a little bit crowded for my liking but nothing discomforting or overwhelming. I highly recommend this place."
"One unique thing about Zao is that they are one of the only ramen shops in the area that can offer you a wide array of ramen! It's really great for anyone that wants to try something different. And unlike Menya Hosaki, they have more reasonable open times. From their monthly specials calendar, I ordered their Kombusui Tsukemen, which was only being offered for two days. When the food arrived, a staff member explained the process of how to eat everything (salt dip to noodles and then broth), and then was willing to repeat it all when I asked! The whole wheat noodles were cooked to the softness of my liking. The kombu (kelp) broth and the chicken and dashi soup on their own were so good and unlike any ramen broth I've had. It's delicious with the noodles and meat mixed in. In the end, my stomach was full and I was hoping to avoid another food coma but still felt it a little this time. This special was $25 before tip, so remember it's a bit more than the regular bowls of ramen. Can't wait to come back for another special!"
"First off, I will say, I ordered from here via Uber Eats. The meal and deals did not disappoint. Items were nicely packaged too. We ordered:Dumpling which were buy one get one free: delicious!Spicy tuna roll: BOGOF: yum Yellowtail jalapeño roll: BOGOF: yumEdamame: BOGOF: they were good, not too salty.Anddd we got miso soup. Not buy one get one free but delicious. Would definitely ordered here again or check out the restaurant! I'd love to try the ramen!"
"Yess please!!Ive recently been turned onto Ramen..and I know Imvery late to this delicious party, but Oishii Ramen Cafe did it absolutely right!I got the volcano ramen which came with scallops, lobster, shrimp, and soft shell crab. The base sauce was flavorful and had a nice spicy kick. Our ramen was wonderfully packaged and served hot and ready. And their website is very easy to navigate.Highly recommend!"
"Service was quick and friendly. I ordered the dumplings and the cucumber appetizer and they were both super yummy"
"Gin ramen is such a gem! Located in the Carlyle neighborhood near the US Trade and Patent Office, Gin is dishing out amazing ramen and izakaya staples like fried squid and chicken. This small, intimate space is well lit, beautifully decorated, and very cozy. Gin is usually busy, but not to the point that you've got to wait for a table or a seat at the bar. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and the food and drinks are consistently good. In addition to some of their menu staples such as spicy miso ramen and chashu donburi, they have a small specials menu that rotates rather often. The specials typically include a donburi, a ramen, an appetizer, and two cocktails. I have yet to see any of the specials repeated, so if you see one you're interested in you should try it! I'm a big fan of their veggie ramen and subbing the egg noodles in for the kale noodles, spicy miso ramen, and gyoza."
"I just moved back into DC after living in Columbia Md. in Columbia I had a go to for Thai food call Dao Khao (shoutout). While there were several ramen bars in Columbia none made me go back regularly. JINYA! I will be a regular. The food was crazy good. The flavors all popped! . This is my go to spot now. HH, dinner all look awesome. I had a chicken ramen and it was very tasty. But y'all need to up your spice factor. I asked for hot it was maybe medium at best. Next time I will ask for spice factor 11See you soon JINYA!"
"This is such a cute little ramen shop! The corn ribs were super juicy and flavorful! Perf app :)I tried the gyudon (which had a strong black pepper taste, but was overall tasty) and the black garlic tonkatsu ramen. The portions are big and nothing was too salty~ I do wish the ramen had a bit more flavor/ salt but I def could taste the garlic!"
"With the food we ordered, they also brought around free salad, along with the sides of sauce/veggies. The spicy pickled radish was yummy, and the sliced cucumbers were savory with the sesame oil. The miso soup was tasty, along with the soft and flavorful tofu. The chicken katsu was cooked well and crispy as it should be. We liked the cabbage salad that came with it, being a bit sweet and savory/spicy. The one thing that might have made the dish better was if there was some sauce or curry with the plain sticky rice. The yakisoba has great flavors and refreshing with all the well cooked veggies. The portions were enough for the price as well. The servers were quick to come and they were attentive when we asked for extra hot sauce. It's a small restaurant with fairly open seating. We chose the booth side. It's clean and quiet, no loud music. It deserves a visit for those that like Japanese and Korean food and conveniently located at Pan Am shopping center near the Vienna metro."
"The best beef scallion pancake and fried calamari in DC!!! It's crispy and tasty! So yummy! Highly recommended."
"My boyfriend and I came here for dinner. We been to Yama Chen in Fairfax so we already know the experience. Customer service is always TOP tier. Very kind, and checks up on you.We ordered two sushi combos so it should have been four sushi rolls total but they gave us a free roll. It was all really good. At the end of course they gave us free cheesecake dessert. This is our absolute FAV since it's such a perfect way to end a little dinner date.Since it is their grand opening, we downloaded their app and was able to get 20% off if we spend $45 or more. The combo roll we got was $25 for two rolls. I definitely think it's worth it especially if you are looking for a cute sushi date night. At the end they also gave us this gift for new years!10/10 would come here again."
