"Decided to try out Elena James for the first time last night, as it was one of the restaurants that I had been looking forward to ever since I saw the sign posted!I loved that my friend and I were seated quickly, even though we did not have a reservation. We came in a little after 8 pm. Loved the ambiance of the restaurant, and think it would be perfect for a date night or friends night out. I loved the margarita, but wish I would have gotten another entree other than the chicken.I think that the restaurant has a lot of potential."
"Best pizza in the DMV with genuine, family-owned quality cooking and customer service. This is my literal happy place.I haven't had bolognese this perfect since Botanero closed down. Their entire menu is incredible. We're talking about melt in your mouth but stringy mozzarella and piping hot food - even with delivery!!! Freddy and his crew of gentlemen were so incredibly hospitable and sweet that not only did they accommodate a special order so I can evangelize the store to friends but they didn't even allow me to carry as a much of a single cannoli by myself. You can truly tell that they take pride in their service and quality.Don't cheat yourself out of one of the best meals ever and try their four-cheese pizza, bolognese, and lasagna."

"As a 7yr native of H St, I'm always excited when I see a new pizza spot open. There are so few of quality nearby. It was here that I had my first jumbo slice. I've always heard of it but had no idea how JUMBO, a jumbo slice was. It was easily as big as my head. And it was also a solid slice and reminded me of some of my favorite slices I had when I lived in NYC. I decided to try a regular pie to see if it was as just as good. It was! They have a ton of specialty pies, but we're a classic pepperoni family. While I thought $14.99 was a little pricey for a 14" pie (I'm cheap when it comes to ordering delivering pizza), it was worth the price. We loved it so much, I ordered a ton for a birthday party that weekend."

"Speakeasy that's not only fun to find but fun once you're in. The bartender was cool enough to make some drinks that weren't on the menu too so that was cool. Must try."
"The food and service were outstanding! We travel to Washington, D.C., annually for work and absolutely love it. This was our first time dining here, and it's now a must-visit for us moving forward. The restaurant has that perfect divey atmosphere with a great vibe, and our waitress was fantastic. We would definitely come again and try new items!"
"What a treat! I really enjoy some real deep dish pizza. I ordered their Deep Dish Pepperoni Pizza and it did not disappoint. The crust is flaky and crispy, just the right consistency. They also put a lot of cheese. It definitely lived up to the hype. I will definitely order again!"
"Came here for an event and everyone was so friendly! The staff were super helpful and asked us what we normally drink and have great recommendations. They explained the cocktails and had suggestions without us needing to look at the menu. We were indoors because it was freezing outside, but I know the patio can be lovely in the nicer times. The inside is cute and decorated well, you feel welcome here and get a good view. Plenty of tables, tall bar tables, and a bar to sit at if you want to chat with the staffThe kitchen cranks out food so quickly. The pizza seemed to be Detroit style so be ready. The fries you can't go wrong with. Skinny and perfectly fried. The pickles are chips not wedges and a good breading to pickle ratio even if prefer wedges. Make sure to get the dips too, they balance out the wine so well. I got a dry sparking champagne and it was actually dry. Too many times places try to pass a Prosecco or cava and it is too sweet. This one was exactly what I was looking for. I would expect nothing less than the people from Maxwell for a fantastic bar."
"This was my first experience here at Barcode. I did not know but there is a $10 cover charge just to enter the building to have brunch which was $48 and the $10 did not go toward your meal. With brunch you get 2 mimosas or 2 sangrias. I chose the sangria option which tasted like juice. There is an option to buy wine by the glass. No cocktails were available on the menu but there was a bar. The food was good, I had the shrimp and grits. They also had a waffle and pasta station which came with brunch. I was able to choose ingredients to put in my pasta (chicken and spinach was my choice) and the waffle had powdered sugar and some chocolate or caramel syrup as toppings options. The place was nice, clean, and the ambiance was good. Music is pretty loud so don't count on having conversation without screaming. All in all brunch was a good vibe."
"Ordered supreme pizza (L) with garlic knots (6) for two people! The food was prepared quickly and the staff was friendly. I asked for some extra garlic sauce for my garlic knots (yes, I am THAT kind of person! :D ), they gave me without any complaints. Seating are very limited, which is understandable since most of their customers would order for either pick-up or delivery. Street parkings are available.A week later, we ordered another supreme pizza (Medium this time) with of course garlic knots! They are just so doughy and good!"
"I'm always on the lookout for exceptional pizzas, so when a colleague suggested we visit Pizzeria Da Marco together, I looked it up on Yelp, saw that they serve Neapolitan pies and have rating averaging 4 stars with almost four hundred reviews, and gave him a enthusiastic yes!We arrived and found that the venue is inviting and warm, with a Neapolitan Pizza Oven that dominates the entrance, and some amazing pizza smells permeating the air.The hostess seated us, gave us menus and told us she was going to be our server as well. Throughout the meal she took excellent care of us, seeing to it our water glasses never emptied, and offering us drink refills as needed.Tip: They have an extensive wine list here, as well as a good selection of bottled beers and beers on tap to choose from. When our drinks came we studied the menu, and decided to try two of their specialty pizzas. The Ruchetta (cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, arugula, prosciutto & shaved Parmesan) and the Pizza of the Day (pepperoni, tomato sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan and basil). Neapolitan pizza crusts are thin, so our pies came out quickly. We dug in, and they were outstanding! The toppings were all fresh and obviously premium quality, the crust has a great chew and just the right amount of char, and the seasonings and the toppings blended together perfectly for an outstanding flavor profile - we were in pizza Heaven! To cap off our meal, with finished up with one of their house-made desserts - an delightfully generous and tasty portion of gelato. The prices were surprisingly reasonable given the excellent quality of the food - I look forward to returning to enjoy more of their delcious pizza and pasta :-)"
"This place is AWESOME. I went with a group of seven last weekend, and we were all smitten. Pizza + Rotisserie Chicken?! Vibe - The vibe is different - in the neatest way. A couple of us commented that it felt like we were in a different city - NYC, Phila, maybe? I loved the music. It was fun, 80's-ish, and pop-y.Food - Yum! The three bonafide foodies in the group were stoked. They admired the kitchen equipment (pizza stove, etc.), which is apparently exceptionally high quality. The true carnivore of the set was delighted by the chicken. Everyone enjoyed the yuca fries. The pizza was the big hit - delicious with a magical crust and lots of cool topics. (As the lone vegetarian, I was totally happy.) Price - Great. Go! Enjoy yourself!"

Came here for dinner recently on a Wednesday night--the restaurant is fairly new so it wasn't crowded, but we had reservations. Cute decor inside! Service was GREAT--food came out fairly quick and our server was friendly and attentive. For starters, the Fried Honey Old Bay Duck Wings was delicious. Loved the Chicken Caesar Lettuce Bouquets, which was uniquely presented. For pasta, the Bucatini Cacio e Pepe was AMAZING--well flavored and probably the best cacio e pepe pasta dish I've ever had (and I've been to Italy!!!) The Pork Schnitzel was good--it was well-fried and tender inside, but was not a huge fan of the sauce, had a bitter aftertaste. The Forest Mushroom & Truffle Pizza was huge portion with lots of topping, but the overall taste lacked flavor. For desserts, we enjoyed the Black & White Brownie (with ice cream) and Lemon Meringue Pie. Cocktails were super tasty--I enjoyed the Fairwind (gin based) and Cucumber Martini.Overall, food and service was good (with some minor improvements)--I will be back to try other dishes!

I remember liking the previous tenant. I can't recall the name--the blue spot. Anyway, I was sad to see them go but since I didn't live nearby any longer, I didn't feel that much pain. When Pizza Walay initially opened I was I was excited by it. The pictures made the place look sleek. Upgraded. The menu even had more stuff on it that I would be open to trying. As of late, I have been stopping by Pizza Iole on Pennsylvania Ave. at least once a month. I mention that to say that I do this on my way home. Pizza Walay, not being on the path to my pad, doesn't really do more for me than 3 Stars. The inside is as nice as it looks on the outside. It was hot the early September evening of my visit but the pizza didn't take long so there wasn't much time spent steaming.I like a simple, greasy cheese slice that I can rain crushed red pepper and Oregano, et. al (basil, Italian Seasoning) encima. Pizza Walay on the other hand is definitely repping for grease. They do have a variety of wings and I think that I will make those my next meal option. I am going to pass on the Gyros though I am curious, I am simply trying to eat less and less meat. But that's just me.God speed Pizza Walay. See y'all on the flip.

I discovered this speak easy when I went into Minya's to grab a quick slice. My friend and I wanted to check it out so we were escorted past the kitchen to the basement stairs into the speakeasy. The speakeasy has an intimate and sexy with moody lightening and jazz music. Jessica, one of the bartenders, was so knowledgable about each drink and helped me figure out which would suit me best. I settled on one of the mocktail drinks with mezcal (can't remember the name) and it was too die for. It was tangy, bright and smokey. I'll definitely be back to try out their other drinks!

Matchbox has been one of my favorite casual eateries when I'm in the Washington, DC area. I love their mini burgers with onion strings which is one of their staple menu items. We ordered them in addition to roasted salmon, where we asked for mashed potatoes instead of butternut squash risotto as my cousin is allergic. For drinks, I had the caramel apple lemonade (apple infused vodka, lemonade, caramel syrup) & my cousin had the love boat cocktail (the love boat Bacardi silver rum, cinnamon syrup, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, pineapple juice), which were refreshing. We had the warm donuts for dessert which were freshly made & pulled apart like a croissant, flaky layers which were delicious with the chocolate & raspberry sauces.Service was warm & friendly.

"Stopped by the Potomac Grocer while in the area for an appointment today. Surprisingly of all the food spots in the area, this was one of the highest Yelp ratings. Looking at the reviews, I saw that the place offered take-home meals as well as a deli. Apparently people loved the chipotle chicken salad sandwich, so I decided that was going to be the thing to try.I wasn't super blown away, I found the chicken to be a bit dry and bland. But I will say man did they PACK that sandwich with chicken! I mean they did not skimp! I also saw one review that mentioned getting it on a baguette so I did, although personally I found the bread to be a bit hard. BTW the chipotle is SPICY! But I do have a low spice tolerance so take that with a grain of salt. They had another option for the chicken salad which was the tarragon, as well as lots of other deli sandwiches. I was curious to try the soup of the day, potato leek soup, but decided not to get it. They had a variety of packaged soups and salads along the refrigerator. It seemed like a pretty popular place on a Sunday afternoon, so while I didn't love the chicken salad sandwich personally, maybe they have some other yummy options."
"Oh the wonderful pizzaplaces in DC I love gourmet pizza and I love their pizza sauce and their Detroit crust my new favorite Detroit style pizza place but This is a $55 pizza restaurant And you will want the whole pizza ! My favorite Detroit pizza is meatball garlic oil basil burata , sausage hot honey pepperoni is diabolically delicious"
"This place is located in Chinatown, inside the building that houses Regal theater & a side entrance to Capital One Arena (just passed Clyde's Restaurant). Chinatown metro is a block away. The pub serves sandwiches, fries and burgers. It was reworked after the previous restaurant closed. This is a perfect spot to visit before or after seeing a movie. (If you want a more upscale date, visit Clyde's)The space is also used for events. There is a dance floor, tables for board games and video games."
"Food is terrific and service is thorough. Take out items were checked in my presence."
"The ingredients in our pizzas tasted fresh, it's either the boxes are smaller than there jumbo slice competitors or their pizzas are really larger. Either way I'm here for it. Now as in my early twenties jumbo slice has always been a stan after a night out in AdMo. It's exactly what was expected. Service: The pizzas were made fresh and fast, the workers were nice and used to the youngishhhh(20s-40s) drunkishhh crowd (tipsy not wasted). Ambiance: the store was as expected -small, few bar stools with tons of napkins. And the experience Ted garlic, cheese, and hot pepper flake shakers were visible and ready for a shaking."
"I have ordered from here for years without issue. Every time my food is hot, fast, and delicious. The pizzas have a generous layer of cheese and a chewy crust. The fries are crispy. I have no complaints!"
"Went here during lunch hour on a Friday.Service was great, server was prompt and very accommodating. We ordered the calamari, pesto pasta, penne vodka, truffle bread, among other things.Food was very tasty, even had their hefeweizen to wash it all done. Very good beer by the way, if you like Blue Moon, this would be right up your ally.Ample seating indoors for large partiesHighly recommend this place as I am a frequent diner."
"On a whim, we decided to try this place as out of towners. It definitely has good authentic food and everything was amazing- the hummus, babaganoush, chicken shwarma.Definitely will check this place out again on our roadtrip to MD."
"OMG Andrea here...I LOVE LOVE LOVE the bread! Amazing! The stuffed grape leaves...yummy! Order the meze. Platter! Yummy"
"I'm on U Street and need something quick. Jumbo Pizza to the rescue. The GOOD: Jumbo slice- $6. Basically, half a damm pizza. It satisfied the hunger. The BAD: CLEAN THIS MOTHERF€#%ER UP!!! Boxes all on the table!!!!"
"I'm not really sure I understand this place. There is no seating out inside only seating outside if you want pasta, you can only eat it inside but I guess you have to spend $25 and eat it standing up. There's a wine beer insider and you think the price on the bottle is how much it cost, but if you want to eat, drink the wine at the location they charge you an extra $15 I bought a $20 bottle of cider and ended up spending $35 for it then they go cheaper than going to a bar really? The pizza was very tasty and I like the flavor combinations, and the salad was lovely. I think both of them were worth every cent. There was a long line outside for people wanting to get ice cream. I asked some people how long they had been standing in line and they were not sure they close at 8:30 on the weekends. It seems I'm just not sure why this place is so popular."
"Armand's is the home of deep dish in the DMV. They offer dine-in with beer specials and pizza by the slice, carry out, and delivery. I'm a big fan of their Detroit style pizza, which always comes out amazing with a cheesy crust!"
"Love this place!!! The couple that owns and runs it is so sweet. Check em out!!! A staple of Arlington. Right on the corner of Wilson and George Mason."
"Family run, delicious sauce, delicious crust always good and hot and fast. It's a great pizza restaurant! I'm a New Yorker:)"
"Called for delivery On Christmas day eve and immediately got through to an extremely pleasant knowledgeable and helpful Staffer. We ordered an extra large pizza with multiple toppings and a no cheese pizza for someone with a dairy allergy. Also three Mediterranean salads and an order of DolmadesThe pizza was fabulous. Clearly freshly made dough wonderfully complex sauce, spicy pepperoni and fresh cut mushroomsThe salad was fresh, crunchy, and a great balance of vegetables. The dolmades were wonderfully firm and expertly seasonedThis will be our pizza place from now on.Thank you Aden's!"
"Cristina Ristorante Italiano: A Repeat DelightAnother visit to Cristina Ristorante Italiano, and once again, it did not disappoint. This charming spot in [City/Town] continues to uphold its tradition of exceptional Italian cuisine and warm hospitality. The visit started on a high note with complimentary stuffed mushrooms, a gesture that made me feel like a valued guest. These mushrooms were a delightful beginning, bursting with flavor and perfectly prepared. For the main course, I opted for the classic - spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta was cooked to al dente perfection, and the meatballs were juicy, flavorful, and complemented the homemade sauce beautifully. The house salad was a fresh and crisp introduction to this hearty dish, balancing the flavors wonderfully.Dessert was a decadent chocolate cake paired with Limoncello. The cake's rich, moist texture and deep chocolate flavor were a perfect match for the zesty and refreshing Limoncello. On a whim, I decided to follow it up with a cappuccino, which was a delightful finish, smooth and robust. The cherry on top of this delightful meal was the fact that the dessert was complimentary, a kind acknowledgment of my frequent visits. This personal touch is one of the many reasons why I adore this place. The staff at Cristina Ristorante Italiano always impresses with their amazing service. They are not only friendly but also fast, responsive, and incredibly professional. Each visit here feels like being welcomed into a family.I absolutely love this little restaurant for its authentic Italian fare, the cozy ambiance, and the exceptional service. Looking forward to my next visit, Cristina Ristorante Italiano remains a beloved spot for me, where every meal is a memorable experience."
"Great pizza. Friendly staff. Open accommodations. Thanks for hosting a great time and good food."
"Malik and the team here very generous and the food is great. It was a great place to visit after visiting Georgetown hospital."
"Cute place, charming Christmas decorations. Service was friendly and fast. I was terribly disappointed in the lightly-breaded calamari. It was the most breaded calamari I've ever tried in my life! And it was fishy and chewy...leading me to believe it wasn't fresh In the trash it went. Waste of $10. Menu shouldn't say lightly-breaded. The lasagna was undercooked. So I put it under the broiler. It didn't have ricotta cheese in it and noodles were soggy. However, the sauce was spot on.....perfect."
"I intentionally ventured into DC to try this place. It's a quaint neighborhood place. There's outside seating and a few spaces inside. The music was great. You order then you sit. Service was quick. I had the pulled pork empañadas which were served with some amazing sauce. The empañadas were made from the pizza dough which made them chewy. The prickly pear lemonade was super tasty. I just wish I had more lemonade and less ice. My pizza was the Pretty in Pepperoni. I would have liked more cheese and pepperoni on mine. I enjoyed to chewiness of the crust as well as the flavor of it. All in all it was a nice experience. The parking was rough."
"Excellent pizza that pairs perfectly with the beers available from Atlas. Great, family friendly environment. Really enjoyed Tylaya's service too."
"Service here is absolutely amazing. I ordered a small salad and small 10inch pizza and was very impressed. It gives you that family owned restaurant flare. This is a great pit stop especially if you are on a winery tour like me!"
"Stopped in since the game I wanted to watch was on. Unfortunately, they had music playing, but it wasn't bad since it wasn't too loud and music I generally enjoy. Got a chicken parm sandwich and they had a half off their bottles on Thurs. night, so it was cheaper than buying two glasses of wine. Staff is very nice and their service is casual."
