"We took advantage of the restaurant week dinner. She had the scallops in a coconut lime sauce, and enjoyed them. I had the octopus which had a perfect texture. Not too firm or rubbery which happens when they are overcooked. For entrees we shared a NY strip steak and the halibut. Portion size on both entrées was small, but both dishes were otherwise flawless. The steak had parsnip purée, Swiss chard , mushrooms, all in a pepper reduction. The fish had firm wheat berries, grilled leaks and fennel. We had a pear tart for dessert. It had poached pear which I found hard to taste, and almond tart that was nice. It was the least successful item we tried. Our other dessert was chocolate mousse that was very well done with a small amount of raspberry custard. The other components didn't contribute much.Despite small portions, the meal in its entirety was ample. Our room was well appointed. Service was excellent. 1789 will reward you with a first class dining experience."
"Best gelato I've ever had! Big portions for a decent price. The staff was so helpful and guided me in helping me find the best flavor!"
"I love this place! Amazing food, great prices. Perfect for a hot day in dc. We went here after walking around for a long time and it was a perfect end to the day. 10/10!!"
"Sidekick Bakery is located inside of Ted's Bulletin in Ballston. They serve hot and iced beverages, frozen treats (including snowdays and soft serve filled croissants), sweets including cakes, cinnamon toast crunch banana bread, cookies, croissants, danishes, millionaire bar, muffins, sk cosmic brownie, Ted's tarts, and savory items including slider breakfast sandwiches, croissant sandwiches, and toasts. I was sad they were sold out of Apple Danish. I enjoyed a Cherry Blossom and White Chocolate Cookie. I plan to return to try their other items."
"I first came here when they first opened on a really busy Saturday night. We waited almost 30 or 40 minutes to just get inside. The flavors that they have are so interesting and we wanted to try them all so we got three different scoops in 3 cups so we could try most flavors. I've come here again more recently, and the flavors have changed, which is so fun. I will say, though the staff doesn't really necessarily know the flavors very well. Since they're all Indian flavors I'm not really familiar with them and I had to ask about them so I didn't have to sample each and every one, but the staff wasn't too helpful. My favorite flavor from the last visit was the Kaju Katli which is a type of cookie. I also really like how you can buy a pint of ice cream for home. I can't wait to come back here again."
"If you're ever visiting the Wharf in DC, or want a sweet treat, Southwest Soda Pop Shop is definitely a stop worth making!Southwest Soda Pop Shop is a black-owned and operated business located in a hip container shop across from the seafood market at the Wharf. In addition to ice cream and shakes, you can find lite snacks and desserts. Everything was made from scratch and the strawberry shake I had had chunks of fresh strawberries in it!All-in-all this is a great stop for some old-fashion ice cream."
"Service: Customer Service is always friendly when I call. Food: OMG SO GOOD!!!! Fries with the Joia Toppings 10/10. The Burger is 9/10. I rated 9 because even though the burger is delicious, the bun is bigger than the Burger. However, chef kiss to the cooks.Would def would recommend anybody to try it!"

As a somewhat regular at the Tombs and having dined at a few of the many Clyde's Restaurants, I can honestly say that my expectations were nowhere near as high as to the level of quality that my friends and I enjoyed tonight at the 1789.In a word it was simply "AMAZING". The service was flawless, there were there when we needed them and mysteriously disappeared when we were set. Sometimes in fine dining the service staff can be hovering over us like Seagulls on the prowl at the Jersey Shore. We took our time to consume three courses and an enjoy a few libations. The dining room is intimate and inviting the fireplace was lit aglow, warm and comforting to sit by.The menu is adventurous but not contrived or so esoteric that we needed to google explanations so that we might navigate our choices. Presentations were elegant and simple with the emphasis on execution. Unlike so many trendy new places around DC seem to be awash in multiple concoctions that involve far too many syllables. The flavors were on point and the kitchen showed a prowess that must only come as a notice that it's all about the taste, the freshness and the seasonality that we find ourselves in. The New Bedford Seared Sea Scallops were delicious, plump and sweet. And the accompanying sauce just perfectly paired with the Scallops. The Escargot garlicky and salty. The only ever so slight misstep was with the Grilled Octopus, a wee tad rubbery possibly didn't poach long or slow enough to tenderize the tentacles before they were finished on the Grill. Our Entrees were all eagerly passed around the table and there was unanimous agreement that all four were perfect. We sampled the Lamb, the Halibut, Duck and the Wagu Short-ribs, whose taste and tenderness took me back to a similar experience 30 years ago at a small French Cafe in Newport. In my Humble opinion this entire experience was undoubtedly the finest meal I've ever been served in our Nations Capital.Reservations are almost always a must but trust me it is indeed worth the wait. Everyone got dessert because we were all part of the Clean Plate Club.Of particular note was the 1789 Pastry Chef's interpretation of Classic Carrot Cake. Reservations are highly recommended and be assured that you will leave with a delicious taste in your mouth and an overwhelming urge to plan your return to the "1789".

Lovely cozy gelato place with seasonal flavors! The servers are also really kind. You can taste the gelato flavors before ordering what you'd like. We went during fall and they had a lovely pumpkin pie flavor that I thought is really yummy if you normally enjoy pumpkin. The hazelnut is also really good too! All in all, a perfect dessert spot to visit after your dinner in old town Alexandria. The location is conveniently located walking distance to the waterfront as well. Must stop by!

This Sidekick Bakery makes the BEST drinks....My "go to" drink order here is a, 16oz, dirty chai tea latte with sugar free vanilla, oat milk and kids temp...try it! Won't be disappointed. And of course, their pastries are baked fresh and to perfection every time.

Delicious! The service was very accommodating. The burger was great and we enjoyed how the toppings were chopped with the sauce. The ube soft serve was a nice bite to end the meal with.

"Nice healthy treat for a summer day. I got plain frozen yogurt with granola, blueberries, and strawberries which was refreshing. The actual frozen yogurt was amazing. I do wish they had more frozen yogurt flavors, I believe they only have 3 in total."
"I plan to update this review every time I try something new in their menu. I just wanted to make sure I post this review on their ribs now since none of the reviews seem to mention the ribs.I give the ribs 3/5 stars. The reason is because they were pretty dry and barely juicy. They come with sauce though, whatever sauce you want that they offer. The taste was a tad bland but again, the sauce will help with that. This was my first time coming here so I'm not sure how their ribs usually taste or if I visited them on an off-day. Their Mac and cheese was nice and HOT, but the cheese was no longer gooey and melted if that makes sense. In taste, it was a tad bland. I could not really taste the cheese. The half-smoke was decent. They said it would be larger than a hotdog though and it wasn't when I got it. It was still good. You can get whatever toppings you want on it; I just asked for ketchup and mustard. I'm willing to visit them a few more times to see if their other food is good and if the ribs will taste better on another day and with a different sauce. I didn't like the bbq sauce they had."
"Very cool place! Was very intrigued by the thought of Ethiopian pizza and of course love the folks behind Heat Da Spot and want to support them in everything they do. We ordered 2 pizzas: the Merkato and the Doro Wat. I liked the Merkato best of the two (the doro wat had chicken on the bone which is a little complicated to eat on top of pizza). The flavor of both was top notch and I'd definitely come back to try more of their specialty pizzas!"
"I unexpectedly stumbled across this spot on a nice ride through DC. I had a craving for ice cream and Google lead me here. I never heard of this business prior to my arrival. This was some of the best ice cream I had in a while (very indulgent and delicious). The smallest portion size was around $8 but a perfect size for me (a guilty pleasurable sweet tooth pleaser). The Praline Butter Cake was sooooo yummy! I will be returning for it! SEATING: The business has limited indoor and outdoor seating. PARKING: This area can get traffic congested but I was very pleased that I got a parking spot directly across from this spot."
"This is one of my go to places for desserts in the area. Unfortunately, they're not open 24/7 as you'd want. Or it must just be me that has a crazy sweet tooth like that. I recommend the chain for ice cream, chocolates, cookies, candy apples, etc. The pics should make you . Give it a shot if you haven't already. Although there's a Coldstone nearby I'll still choose here that has more variety and not just ice cream."
"Delicious pizza. Simple straightforward ingredients and execution. Started with a cocktail, which was solid but a touch unbalanced for me (leaned sweet and gin heavy (purity). Got the chopped salad which was a great appetizer, tasted very fresh and bright, a touch overdressed but delicious. Then the pizza. Thin, crisp crust, does not flop at all, good toppings and cheese, very delicious and I left nothing. Will be back to try more"
"I had a scoop of praline butter cake and a scoop of cookies and cream. I tried three other ice cream flavors but wasn't thrilled by any of the (vegan peanut butter brownie honeycomb, bigface coffee affogato, and brown sugar cookie dough brownie). The praline butter cake and cookies and cream were good- very sweet and creamy! The ice cream was fine but the customer service was excellent. Aniya helped us and she was so patient. My friends and I asked so many questions and the flavor options were a bit overwhelming. Aniya was so kind and made great recommendations."
"I stopped by this cute cafe/dessert shop while walking around Georgetown. They have a selection of lokum (which I think are Turkish delight?), ashta, a stretchy ice cream, and an assortment of baklava. The customer service was great. The workers were very friendly and let me sample several flavors of ice cream. I got half pistachio, half lotus (biscoff) ice cream, and 6 different pieces of baklava and hazelnut lokum. The hazelnut lokum was probably my favorite, delicious and never had anything quite like it. The baklava and ice cream were also very good, the ice cream had bold pistachio flavor which I loved. In total, it cost $21 for a small ice cream and small tray of baklava/lokum, which is expensive, but that's D.C. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Georgetown. Unfortunately, I ate everything in one sitting, so I did not get any pictures (lol)."
"Solid coffee, easy location right off of 50, the shop isn't huge but there is some seating inside and out. Some pastries (croissants etc) are from fresh baguette, the rest they make in house. Ordered a cruller but would skip this in the future - it was overly sweet and the texture was one dimensional. But the coffee is good. espresso drinks were well made, the current pumpkin latte is tasty."
"I have a little lactose intolerance, so I avoid milk as much as possible. However, this is one place I go when I am ready to cheer (once in a blue moon). Everything here is amazingly good, but I especially love the Affogato ice cream. The only thing better is an actual affogato at an Italian restaurant. This is worth trying if you are into ice cream (or even if you're not). The store is small, and there is very little seating available."
