"If you're ever visiting the Wharf in DC, or want a sweet treat, Southwest Soda Pop Shop is definitely a stop worth making!Southwest Soda Pop Shop is a black-owned and operated business located in a hip container shop across from the seafood market at the Wharf. In addition to ice cream and shakes, you can find lite snacks and desserts. Everything was made from scratch and the strawberry shake I had had chunks of fresh strawberries in it!All-in-all this is a great stop for some old-fashion ice cream."
"I stopped by this cute cafe/dessert shop while walking around Georgetown. They have a selection of lokum (which I think are Turkish delight?), ashta, a stretchy ice cream, and an assortment of baklava. The customer service was great. The workers were very friendly and let me sample several flavors of ice cream. I got half pistachio, half lotus (biscoff) ice cream, and 6 different pieces of baklava and hazelnut lokum. The hazelnut lokum was probably my favorite, delicious and never had anything quite like it. The baklava and ice cream were also very good, the ice cream had bold pistachio flavor which I loved. In total, it cost $21 for a small ice cream and small tray of baklava/lokum, which is expensive, but that's D.C. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Georgetown. Unfortunately, I ate everything in one sitting, so I did not get any pictures (lol)."
"I'm not really sure I understand this place. There is no seating out inside only seating outside if you want pasta, you can only eat it inside but I guess you have to spend $25 and eat it standing up. There's a wine beer insider and you think the price on the bottle is how much it cost, but if you want to eat, drink the wine at the location they charge you an extra $15 I bought a $20 bottle of cider and ended up spending $35 for it then they go cheaper than going to a bar really? The pizza was very tasty and I like the flavor combinations, and the salad was lovely. I think both of them were worth every cent. There was a long line outside for people wanting to get ice cream. I asked some people how long they had been standing in line and they were not sure they close at 8:30 on the weekends. It seems I'm just not sure why this place is so popular."
"Excited this place finally opened!! Stopped in for a drink and dessert while in the neighborhood. (I'd already eaten elsewhere). The menu looked good, bartenders were really friendly, and bathrooms were very pretty. Ice cream was rich and not too sweet. Only complaint was how bright the lights were for dinnertime - they eventually turned down - but probably could've gone down even more. I look forward to checking out more of their menu."
"Fantastic affogato. Added the honey crunch ice cream. One of the best I have ever had. Would def go back again."
"This is the best restaurant in national landing easily. Best, freshest poke bowl I've ever had in my life. Every single bowl I've ever gotten is like 5 lbs of food it's insane. The tuna is not chopped like other poke bowls it's so soft and tender. It's spicy and fresh and the owner and all the workers are the nicest people I've ever me. Sorry pics are from my insta story lol"
"I plan to update this review every time I try something new in their menu. I just wanted to make sure I post this review on their ribs now since none of the reviews seem to mention the ribs.I give the ribs 3/5 stars. The reason is because they were pretty dry and barely juicy. They come with sauce though, whatever sauce you want that they offer. The taste was a tad bland but again, the sauce will help with that. This was my first time coming here so I'm not sure how their ribs usually taste or if I visited them on an off-day. Their Mac and cheese was nice and HOT, but the cheese was no longer gooey and melted if that makes sense. In taste, it was a tad bland. I could not really taste the cheese. The half-smoke was decent. They said it would be larger than a hotdog though and it wasn't when I got it. It was still good. You can get whatever toppings you want on it; I just asked for ketchup and mustard. I'm willing to visit them a few more times to see if their other food is good and if the ribs will taste better on another day and with a different sauce. I didn't like the bbq sauce they had."
"I unexpectedly stumbled across this spot on a nice ride through DC. I had a craving for ice cream and Google lead me here. I never heard of this business prior to my arrival. This was some of the best ice cream I had in a while (very indulgent and delicious). The smallest portion size was around $8 but a perfect size for me (a guilty pleasurable sweet tooth pleaser). The Praline Butter Cake was sooooo yummy! I will be returning for it! SEATING: The business has limited indoor and outdoor seating. PARKING: This area can get traffic congested but I was very pleased that I got a parking spot directly across from this spot."
"Very cool place! Was very intrigued by the thought of Ethiopian pizza and of course love the folks behind Heat Da Spot and want to support them in everything they do. We ordered 2 pizzas: the Merkato and the Doro Wat. I liked the Merkato best of the two (the doro wat had chicken on the bone which is a little complicated to eat on top of pizza). The flavor of both was top notch and I'd definitely come back to try more of their specialty pizzas!"
"I had a scoop of praline butter cake and a scoop of cookies and cream. I tried three other ice cream flavors but wasn't thrilled by any of the (vegan peanut butter brownie honeycomb, bigface coffee affogato, and brown sugar cookie dough brownie). The praline butter cake and cookies and cream were good- very sweet and creamy! The ice cream was fine but the customer service was excellent. Aniya helped us and she was so patient. My friends and I asked so many questions and the flavor options were a bit overwhelming. Aniya was so kind and made great recommendations."
"Since my husband's birthday was also around restaurant week we decided to choose the Hamrock restaurant to celebrate.I am so happy with the choice. They were so warm and welcoming in this beautiful colonial house turned into a restaurant. Our server was incredible very professional and the hostess gave us personalized menus that said "happy birthday" at the very top. My husband thought it was the birthday of the restaurant so he went around looking for another menu to see if it really was personalized. The food was in incredible. From what I understand risotto is not easy to make. The chef who created this risotto is incredibly talented because it was creamy flavorful and delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their meal so much that they took part of it home so that they can enjoy it again today I don't have that kind of control. Neither did my husband. The dessert was delicious too. Lemon cello cake light fluffy not too sweet.Thank you once again for an incredible experience.Whoever the owner is of this restaurant should be very proud of their staff"
"Skip the ice cream and go for the cookies! The ooey gooey chocolate chip cookies with gobs of fudgy chocolate in every bite are hands-down the BEST chocolate chip cookies in DC! The single split scoop of Cookies and Cream just didn't hit the mark. The ice cream is very sweet and the toppings are sparse and not well mixed into the vanilla base flavor. The toppings need to be more evenly distributed and embedded into the ice cream. The former ice cream shop, Trickling Springs Creamery was soo goood!"

Pasha Castle in Georgetown is a hidden gem! Though it's tucked downstairs, the space is a delightful surprise once you step inside. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, guiding us through their impressive assortment of baklava. Pistachio is my personal favorite, and they do it beautifully here. While it's a bit pricey, the quality of the baklava and Turkish coffee makes it well worth the visit. If you're in the area, this spot is worth checking out!

Found this spot on IG and decided to give it a try during a 3-day trip to DC with a friend. We had dinner on Friday and were so pleased that we returned the next day. Service was great on both occasions, the team is super friendly and helpful with menu recommendations. Super cute interior with a good wine selection. We tried several appetisers and pastas (some not pictured), everything was absolutely delicious. The daily wine options by the glass were great as well. The pasta menu is only available for dine-in and there are no seated tables, unusual but we enjoyed the experience! Ended both meals with ice cream from the booth outdoors.Special shoutout to Eric; my friend had wanted to purchase some hot sauce to-go, we tried it with the pork gyros and it was really good - and Eric made it happen (we got the very last available bottle!).

We came to try Conduit for a birthday dinner and called ahead to make a reservation for the evening. Although the presentation on everything we had was pretty good, the only dish that really stood out were their crispy brussels sprouts and kohlrabi appetizers. The lobster flatbread was ok, the roasted mirepoix pieces were chunkier than they really should have been and made you feel a bit jipped on the amount of lobster used for the dish (probably would have been better with langostinos). Despite being rather sparse in the dining room, we were surprised at the slow pace of service.

Roasted strawberry ice cream was the best strawberry flavor I've ever tasted. Very rich and free sprinkles were a plus. My husband's mint chocolate chip had large chunks of chocolate. Not the cheapest place but the quality and flavor selections are awesome. They also had blueberry jasmine, cardamom, honey Graham, and a few other interesting flavors

Cute little ice cream shop with eclectic ice cream flavors. They had some fall special flavors, one being the blueberry donut jelly and for some reason, I wanted to try it. They also had another flavor, honeycomb, that's apparently a popular flavor, so I ordered both. The ice-cream was flavorful, although I would say the blueberry one was a little too sweet for me. It still tasted good, but I preferred the honey comb one. As for service, they were pretty efficient and quickly moved through the lines.

"This pop up ice cream shop is a temporary location in Woodley Park, but it offers a cute space, with decent ice cream and both indoor and outdoor seating. Founded by the legend Tyra Banks, the concept is definitely unique as you don't often see super models going into the business of ice cream. The staff were very friendly and attentive, offering explanations of the variety of flavors available. They pair each ice cream with a cake pop that goes underneath the scoop. Overall, I would say the ice cream is good, but I would recommend coming here for the experience and the staff more than the bites."
"We took advantage of the restaurant week dinner. She had the scallops in a coconut lime sauce, and enjoyed them. I had the octopus which had a perfect texture. Not too firm or rubbery which happens when they are overcooked. For entrees we shared a NY strip steak and the halibut. Portion size on both entrées was small, but both dishes were otherwise flawless. The steak had parsnip purée, Swiss chard , mushrooms, all in a pepper reduction. The fish had firm wheat berries, grilled leaks and fennel. We had a pear tart for dessert. It had poached pear which I found hard to taste, and almond tart that was nice. It was the least successful item we tried. Our other dessert was chocolate mousse that was very well done with a small amount of raspberry custard. The other components didn't contribute much.Despite small portions, the meal in its entirety was ample. Our room was well appointed. Service was excellent. 1789 will reward you with a first class dining experience."
"Who doesn't like ice cream? I was excited to see Toby's Homemade Ice Cream be one of the many businesses to open in Metropolitan Park (Amazon). It's a walk-up shop with about 20 flavors to choose from (to include sorbets). Customers have the option to add toppings to their ice cream or order a shake, malt or float. I ordered one scoop of the S'mores which was refreshing (chocolate Chip, Graham cracker and marshmallow). The prices are reasonable, the portion size is standard, the ice cream is tasty and the decor is simple. I can't wait to visit again."
"Nice healthy treat for a summer day. I got plain frozen yogurt with granola, blueberries, and strawberries which was refreshing. The actual frozen yogurt was amazing. I do wish they had more frozen yogurt flavors, I believe they only have 3 in total."
"Holy Moly this place is fantastic. I went for the Monuments and Mimosa cocktail class. The class is from 11-1 pm so it starts and ends before the shop opens for regular customers. This location is so cute with a fun vibe. The music playing in the store is all drink related some way. The monument and mimosa cocktail class starts out with sipping on mimosas. We were able to try all the flavors that are offered. They have ice cream and sorbet. You make two cocktails in class. I'm not sure if they are different each class. In our class we made the cherry bomb (ice cream base) and the Day Drinker( sorbet base). Both drinks were delicious. At the end of the class you get a souvenir glass and 20% discount on the purchase of a pint (if purchased in class). I took advantage of the class discount and took home a pint of the Hazelnut Coffee. The owner ran the class and is super dope. She held my purchase while I ran across the street to order some food. I let her know how much I enjoyed her business and the class. I will certainly be back with friends!!!"
"It's almost 100 degrees out and you decide that you want something chocolatey that hasn't been done before near your building. You're at Metro Center, you yelp "chocolate" and you see "Larry's Cookies" come up. You think to yourself, "hmmm a nice chocolate chip cookie could be good right now. But I'm not going to the Old Post Office Building, maybe it's time for a mini adventure!" So you walk out in the heat, you walk towards the allure of a fresh chocolate chip cookie and you wander and review the directions on yelp indicating between 8th and 9th street. You finally find this plaza in between said streets and you wonder, "where could this cookie sanctuary be?"You put your Nancy Drew hat on and decide that it must be in one of these buildings somewhere so you walk into one that says, "Food Court Downstairs." You walk down the escalator and you see a sign that points you to Larry's Cookies on the right. You make a right turn and what do you see? Why, the shiny, white interior of little Larry's Cookies AND ICE CREAM! "Well then." You think to yourself, "I guess this is it. Let's see if this journey was worth it." At 2:00 in the afternoon you are left with a minimal selection of cookies, many muffins, ice cream and coffee and tea beverages. You choose to stay focused on your cookie mission and you choose the pecan chocolate chip cookie for $1.35 (including tax). You take your large cookie in it's white bakery bag and you go back into the heat. You take a bite while in the plaza of K street towards Chinatown and you think to yourself,"Was this worth it?" It's a nice cookie, but not the best. It's a little dry, it's a little bland, but it's ok. It is not worthy of another journey in 100 degree heat from the tourist haven of Metro Center to the wildnerness of lower K street. To paraphrase T-Pain, "It's two o clock in the pm. Work day got boring. You said you're eating dessert soon. So I snuck off to K street...""
"Delicious pizza. Simple straightforward ingredients and execution. Started with a cocktail, which was solid but a touch unbalanced for me (leaned sweet and gin heavy (purity). Got the chopped salad which was a great appetizer, tasted very fresh and bright, a touch overdressed but delicious. Then the pizza. Thin, crisp crust, does not flop at all, good toppings and cheese, very delicious and I left nothing. Will be back to try more"
"Beautiful outdoor seating area. The menu has a great selection for both main dish and especially dessert. The service was wonderful; servers were attentive."
"Sidekick Bakery is located inside of Ted's Bulletin in Ballston. They serve hot and iced beverages, frozen treats (including snowdays and soft serve filled croissants), sweets including cakes, cinnamon toast crunch banana bread, cookies, croissants, danishes, millionaire bar, muffins, sk cosmic brownie, Ted's tarts, and savory items including slider breakfast sandwiches, croissant sandwiches, and toasts. I was sad they were sold out of Apple Danish. I enjoyed a Cherry Blossom and White Chocolate Cookie. I plan to return to try their other items."
"Located where WiseGuy Pizza is near the CVS on M St.Regular: 3 Scoops is $6.60 including tax. Good value and great flavor! There were two large cases filled with a variety of flavors including both gelato and sorbet. I ended up getting hazelnut, chocolate and berry cheesecake. The berry cheesecake was very bright and tart and the cheesecake flavor was super rich in the best way. Chocolate was pretty basic and was overshadowed by the extra crunch from the hazelnuts."
"I have a little lactose intolerance, so I avoid milk as much as possible. However, this is one place I go when I am ready to cheer (once in a blue moon). Everything here is amazingly good, but I especially love the Affogato ice cream. The only thing better is an actual affogato at an Italian restaurant. This is worth trying if you are into ice cream (or even if you're not). The store is small, and there is very little seating available."
"This is one of my go to places for desserts in the area. Unfortunately, they're not open 24/7 as you'd want. Or it must just be me that has a crazy sweet tooth like that. I recommend the chain for ice cream, chocolates, cookies, candy apples, etc. The pics should make you . Give it a shot if you haven't already. Although there's a Coldstone nearby I'll still choose here that has more variety and not just ice cream."
"Service: Customer Service is always friendly when I call. Food: OMG SO GOOD!!!! Fries with the Joia Toppings 10/10. The Burger is 9/10. I rated 9 because even though the burger is delicious, the bun is bigger than the Burger. However, chef kiss to the cooks.Would def would recommend anybody to try it!"
"Best gelato I've ever had! Big portions for a decent price. The staff was so helpful and guided me in helping me find the best flavor!"
"I first came here when they first opened on a really busy Saturday night. We waited almost 30 or 40 minutes to just get inside. The flavors that they have are so interesting and we wanted to try them all so we got three different scoops in 3 cups so we could try most flavors. I've come here again more recently, and the flavors have changed, which is so fun. I will say, though the staff doesn't really necessarily know the flavors very well. Since they're all Indian flavors I'm not really familiar with them and I had to ask about them so I didn't have to sample each and every one, but the staff wasn't too helpful. My favorite flavor from the last visit was the Kaju Katli which is a type of cookie. I also really like how you can buy a pint of ice cream for home. I can't wait to come back here again."
"Solid coffee, easy location right off of 50, the shop isn't huge but there is some seating inside and out. Some pastries (croissants etc) are from fresh baguette, the rest they make in house. Ordered a cruller but would skip this in the future - it was overly sweet and the texture was one dimensional. But the coffee is good. espresso drinks were well made, the current pumpkin latte is tasty."
"Good ice cream, places get extra points when they have peppermint on the menu. It was soft because I dont think the owner was expecting anyone to order that day, so he offered me a cup. Still yummy!"
"I love this place! Amazing food, great prices. Perfect for a hot day in dc. We went here after walking around for a long time and it was a perfect end to the day. 10/10!!"
"Captain Cookie rolled through beautiful Tysons Corner, VA, where I just so happened to find myself on a vibrant spring morning. While my impetus for getting something more so came from the fact that it was free through an event, I did some research after the fact and determined that Captain Cookie has quite the reputation in the DC metro area. But, as I have emphasized in many of my reviews, Joan Jett's wise words ring loudly in my ears: "I don't give a damn 'bout [its] reputation."I ordered an ice cream sandwich with peanut butter cookies and vanilla ice cream.Four (4) stars are attributed to the RICHNESS and VOLUPTUOUSNESS of the ice cream sandwich's taste and appearance. It was truly one of the PLUMPEST items that I've had the pleasure of shoveling down my gullet (and these ice cream sandwiches are so thique that you do indeed have to *shovel* them down your gullet). This is a good thing. The peanut butter cookie did not have the faintest flavor of peanut butter, for which I deduct one-half (0.5) of a star. Whatever the flavor was, it was good. One (1) star is attributed to the JOYFULNESS of Captain Cookie and the Milk Man's truck. The vehicle was fully equipped with beautiful, yellow decal. Yellow is the color of sunshine, happiness, and warmth. The ice cream sandwich provided the first two, but not the third.A final half (0.5) of a star is attributed to the employee's SERVICE quality and the WELCOMING quality of his EYES.Overall, I would recommend Captain Cookie for your next middle school throwback ice cream event. You will find the products rich, voluptuous, plump, joyful, and welcoming."
