The menu is always rotating but there are a few items that are almost always available. The service is very good and the servers are very knowledgeable and efficient. I love the back area with the fireplace. It's so cozy. For special events, they have a back table that's covered with a tent that can be enclosed. It's very quiet and private, and is very comfortable for larger groups."

The outdoor patio is nice for those Concerned regarding the pandemic. It doesn't open up to the main street, but rather a courtyard in between other venues that offer more people watching than traffic. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table, some of the menu items/sauces might be unfamiliar so you can ask the staff or look at the dip appetizer section of the menu for explanations of most of them,They have an extensive menu and I tried the zucchini fritters appetizer (fried zucchini patties with mozzarella, mind and garlic) which I enjoyed and went perfectly with the tzatziki yogurt sauce. I also had the pork souvlaki rice bowl with rice, sauteed onions, pickled onions, pepper medley, hummus and melitzanosalata (roasted eggplant with onion and garlic). This was a large portion of tasty Greek food and everything fit well together, though the pork was a bit fatty but perfectly seasoned. I enjoyed my meal here and will be back again."

The owner (I believe) basically ignored me and my questions about the orzo salad and greeted everyone else in line by name which had me thinking oh ok so it's a small hole in the wall but I'm hungry and love Greek food and it's next to my ENT doctor so I'll order a quick sandwich.Welp, upon the first bite I somehow respect this owner more because, like, STFU you newbie, order the orzo salad or don't and keep moving... this is a place I will be coming to frequently until the grumpy old bloke knows who I am and the most intimate details of my life."

"My wife and I came here for late brunch on a Saturday. This is a really cool, old-timey family run institution. The hobo banquet was awesome and we ordered two! Service was great overall. I asked about the bloody mary and they comped me a sample of the mix (it was tasty). The onion rings were also amazing: perfectly cook and good consistency in the batter. Prices were great and portions were big. We had two boxes to take home. I was curious about the NYC decor so I spoke with the guy running the register (the owner?) for a bit as well. Great, kind gentleman and a former NYer (like me). He is VERY knowledgeable about the diner business and knows his trade. He also mentioned some wisdom to me that will stick with me for a while. We made out with a ton of food, an amazing impression, and a little wiser. I highly recommend this place!!!"

"Very tasty food. My wife got a lamb/beef platter and I got the chicken gyro. Gyro is loaded as you can see, doubt you'll come out hungry. The chicken is well cooked and it seems like they add lemon or something to it and the lamb as well. Their lamb/beef doesn't seem to be housemade but they definitely add some more flavor to it and I thought it tasted better than the chicken. Yogurt sauce is also amazing. You can see the fresh dill. Service was reasonably fast, probably took 7-8 min. The ambiance of the place was more casual, but enjoyed the flag decor."

My only wish so for more of the veggies, chicken, and rice. We may have got the bottom of the pot on this hot day which is understandable.For an appetizer we ordered the octopus appetizer based on other reviews. The octopus was tender and perfectly cooked. The hummus, balsamic reduction, and other flavors they incorporated were so delicious. Not to mention, the plate is just beautiful. We ordered a special of flounder with peppers, onions, capers, tomatoes, rice, and tomato sauce. So good and flavorful.The real star was the gyro special made up of lamb and beef gyro meat, tzatziki, Greek salad, and fries. Wow. That gyro meat has to be the best I've had. We have ordered from a few places in our area, and this is by far the best. The meat is so flavorful and the pita is well seasoned as well. Everything was so good. Very highly recommend trying it if you haven't already. Solid choice."

"This restaurant has been in our neighborhood forever but for some reason we've never tried it until now. Had a pizza craving one evening and suddenly remembered someone on the Cleveland Park listserv recommending this place awhile ago. So ordered online - they come in 12 and 14 inches and all toppings are additional charge, which makes it easy to mix and match your own choice of toppings. We had a 14 inch with pepperoni, sausage and mushroom, at $18.45 before tax and tip not cheap but quite good, medium thick crust, soft and supple, holds the toppings well - the kind that doesn't get discarded - you'd want to eat it all. Only thing to note is it takes just a bit longer than the time estimate given online when you place the order - it says 15 minutes but will actually take 25-30 mins before ready for pick up."

"Came here with Mom and her next door neighbors. I made a reservation for a Tuesday night, but it was completely unnecessary, as the place was very empty. Free limited parking in the garage next door. Our server was very nice, he could see that we were all chatting and was not intrusive with taking our orders. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and our main all at separate times while we gabbed away. The mezze platter was very good, and a great way to share 'tapas style' and get a sample of different tastes. My main was the kofta (very generous portions). I loved the couscous, everything was perfectly spiced and seasoned. My companions said their moussaka and manti were excellent. Dessert, of which I did not partake, they say was good. They had all been to Maya Bistro as well, but agreed it is slightly better at Yayla.The only negative was at the beginning of the night, when one of the owners/employees was walking back and forth through the dining room in a T-shirt and baseball cap talking loudly on the phone. I understood it was about an issue about equipment in the kitchen; not deducting stars for it, but there's a time and place for that stuff."

Everything was good and I had no problem with it.- Gyro pita* this was okay but it's pretty underwhelming when you factor the $15 price tag and the smaller portion that was served. - Lamb chops* $11 per lamb chop is pretty expensive especially when you see how small they are but they were decent. * the French fries were awful: greasy and soggy with zero crisp and seasoning.- Dessert French toast * another one of my favorites dishes that I enjoyed.* it's not overly sweet as it comes with whipped cream, blueberries, strawberries, and honey. This is a solid spot for Greek food. I'd recommend the chicken platter & French toast and I would be open to returning to try new items like spicy lamb sliders, chicken sliders, and lollipop chicken."

"This is not the hole in the wall Greek places I'm used to. Humitos is a fantastic restaurant with great interior space. We ordered the beef and lamb gyro sandwich and a Greek salad with falafel on it. The sandwich had great flavor but it was so loaded with lettuce and tomatoes that it was essentially a salad with some meat at the bottom. I'm also used to double the meat on my gyro sandwiches, this one was a bit hidden. The Greek salad was exactly what we were expecting but they didn't include the black olives which is a BIG deal for a Greek salad and what my wife and daughter loves the most.I'm excited to try something else like maybe the moussaka would be better? But the sandwiches I'll pass on next time."

One cool thing about this place is they sell lots of different Greek treats, like chocolates, cookies, olive oil, honey, and olives!
