"Iron Gate is an amazing restaurant for work lunches and dinners. I have been here so many times, all for work or work-adjacent dinners and lunches and everything is always great. The menu is always rotating but there are a few items that are almost always available. The service is very good and the servers are very knowledgeable and efficient. I love the back area with the fireplace. It's so cozy. For special events, they have a back table that's covered with a tent that can be enclosed. It's very quiet and private, and is very comfortable for larger groups."
"Great for lunch. My sister treated me. Food was very flavorful. Steak was tender. Rice had a nice flavor, I did not need anything on it. Salad was great. I asked them not to include cucumbers or olives. The salad would've been a little fuller had I not, fyi. Will definitely have them again for lunch. Or maybe dinner."

"This is my new FAVORITE date night spot.Lovely service from the moment we walked in. We started with a bottle of the house red which was delicious. We got a shared appetizer sample, the lamb shank, and flan. The orzo with the lamb was fall apart good. We saw some fish go out and would like to try that next time too.If it's a nice day, make sure to sit on the patio."
"What they lack in curb appeal they make up for in taste and quality of ingredients. The fact that this business still hasn't been claimed by the business owner makes me respect it even more. He's busy making these kick ass gyros and probably has no idea how to work a computer, like a true man of Greek culture. I'm pretty sure I was the only person there that was new. The owner (I believe) basically ignored me and my questions about the orzo salad and greeted everyone else in line by name which had me thinking oh ok so it's a small hole in the wall but I'm hungry and love Greek food and it's next to my ENT doctor so I'll order a quick sandwich.Welp, upon the first bite I somehow respect this owner more because, like, STFU you newbie, order the orzo salad or don't and keep moving... this is a place I will be coming to frequently until the grumpy old bloke knows who I am and the most intimate details of my life."
"The staff was fine. The waiter didn't go over any specials or really give any feedback with recommendations. The food is why I give it 4 stars. My food was absolutely delicious. I believe everyone at our table devoured their plates. There is outdoor seating but it started to sprinkle so we sat upstairs. The ambiance was fine as well. Nothing that stood out or caught your eye."
"Tasty food and friendly staff with a convenient location in the Giant shopping center that has plenty of parking. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table, some of the menu items/sauces might be unfamiliar so you can ask the staff or look at the dip appetizer section of the menu for explanations of most of them,They have an extensive menu and I tried the zucchini fritters appetizer (fried zucchini patties with mozzarella, mind and garlic) which I enjoyed and went perfectly with the tzatziki yogurt sauce. I also had the pork souvlaki rice bowl with rice, sauteed onions, pickled onions, pepper medley, hummus and melitzanosalata (roasted eggplant with onion and garlic). This was a large portion of tasty Greek food and everything fit well together, though the pork was a bit fatty but perfectly seasoned. I enjoyed my meal here and will be back again."
"Once again wonderful friends have introduced us to an excellent Springfield restaurant! Eleni's Greek Taverna is literally a hidden gem. We had the Cheese Saganani (fried cheese) that was served flambé at the table! The cheese was served with pita. The Greek Garden side salad of course has the mandatory feta cheese, fresh and crisp greens and an herbed creamy dressing. The Mousaka [sic] was the best in the region! Eleni's Mousaka is a huge portion of this classic Greek casserole dish. As described in the menu it is made with layers of potatoes, eggplant, seasoned ground beef and topped with a creamy bechamel sauce baked to golden perfection. I'd go back for that for done in or carry out! Other dishes enjoyed by our party were the gyros platter with lots of crispy fries and a Greek omelette, both of which were devoured and obviously enjoyed! Did I mention that Eleni's serves all day breakfast? We will need to go back soon to explore more of that part of the extensive menu. The atmosphere was very family! Our waitress is the mother of Eleni's and is familiar with our friends. She was glad to see them and asked about happenings in their lives, and our friends reciprocated the conversation. Where were introduced as friends and were addressed by our first names during the meal, true to a Greek family gathering. We had an amazing time and enjoyed the white and blue themed paint surrounding the Greek decor that lent a special ambiance.Prices for these very large portions of very well made Greek food were very reasonable, making our meals a high value for the dollar. We must return to try all of our Greek favorites and Eleni's specialties! I'm sure it will become a favorite place."
"Stopped here for a quick bite after the gym. The woman who took my order was extremely nice!! I inquired about the vegan options and she not only directed me to the vegan/vegetarian menu but she also told me about the different modifications that could be made to make it a vegan dish. The food was delicious as well! I got the falafel platter without feta and substituted the fries for the pasta."
"Had a wonderful first experience here tonight. It was a beautiful day and we really wanted to enjoy some outside patio seating. We've been meaning to check it out and I'm so glad we did. We arrived around 4:45 and despite being a beautiful busy day there was still room on the patio. Lots of outside tables and a beautiful gazebo, vinery patio. Service was fast and friendly. Prices seemed fair. Food was fresh and fast. Def coming back to try the pasta and pie. Dessert also looked yummy!"
"My wife and I came here for late brunch on a Saturday. This is a really cool, old-timey family run institution. The hobo banquet was awesome and we ordered two! Service was great overall. I asked about the bloody mary and they comped me a sample of the mix (it was tasty). The onion rings were also amazing: perfectly cook and good consistency in the batter. Prices were great and portions were big. We had two boxes to take home. I was curious about the NYC decor so I spoke with the guy running the register (the owner?) for a bit as well. Great, kind gentleman and a former NYer (like me). He is VERY knowledgeable about the diner business and knows his trade. He also mentioned some wisdom to me that will stick with me for a while. We made out with a ton of food, an amazing impression, and a little wiser. I highly recommend this place!!!"
"Well, it had to happen eventually. According to the restaurant, due to rising costs, the $6 Wednesday gyro is now $7. I'm fine with that. The gyro is so meaty and delicious and the new Wednesday price point still is a deal."
"Tried this place with some friends in December and it was great! The ambiance is warm and inviting, they even had live music on a Friday night, which we loved. Staff were efficient and kind. We tried several items on the menu: the Gigantes (a delicious tomato bean dish with butter beans), the Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), the grilled halloumi and Saganaki cheese dishes, and a selection of three spreads - the hummus, tyrokafteri and tzatziki - accompanied by the softest pita bread. Everything was very fresh, flavorful and delicious, and service was very quick despite the restaurant being packed with diners. It is definitely on the pricier side, and bear in mind that you also need to order several small plates to share as portions for the vegetarian options as they are on the small side, since they only have vegetarian appetizers, but no vegetarian entrees, only meat and seafood ones (I'd love to see a couple of those on the menu in the future!). But it is well worth it for a special occasion!"

The second venture of the chef from Vermillion in old town. IMO it's better than what Vermillion used to be in terms of quality, service, and creativity. The cocktails, wine pairings, and platings were well thought out. Pacing of the meal was perfect as well, not easily done with this many courses. It's a very well decorated and cool spot sort of hidden behind the iron gates at the entrance. Small bar and a few tables in the front narrow section, with outdoor covered seating in the back patio area, and indoor seating past the patio. No it's not cheap, but things that take effort and time to produce obviously demand a premium price. Worth a splurge for a night out.

Truly authentic Greek cuisine here! There's tables inside if you wish to dine in and the food is so fresh and delicious! I was in the area and always craving gyros so I decided to check them out. Surely they didn't disappoint. The meat was tender, well seasoned and the pita was so soft! Can't wait to return to try everything on the menu. Excellent customer service!

Today was a very hot and humid day in old town Alexandria. As it got to be around cocktail hour, we just wanted to find a nice quiet restaurant to sit outside in the shade and have a glass of wine and maybe an appetizer. We had been to this Greek restaurant in the past, but we've never sat in their outside patio in the back. We are very pleased with how beautiful it is in the back patio. We ordered an appetizer sampler, which had numerous items on it including Hummus, fava, Kalamata olives, Anchovies, tzatziki. Very courteous and knowledgeable staff.

I stopped by the Greek Deli during my lunch break and ordered the Famous Gyro. It was so good! I definitely recommend this deli. The gyro meat had spices you could taste and it wasn't over cooked. The tzatziki sauce was extremely fresh with the lemon and dill highlighting it. I love Gryos and most can be oily, but this one wasn't! Amazing Greek deli! Very authentic and I'd definitely return. The employees and owner were very welcoming!

No frill and quick gyros! The restaurant is located in a shopping center in Falls Church with plenty of parking. You order your food at the counter and they will bring your dish to you. The menu includes a variety of pitas, bowls and plates. I got the Chicago gyro bowl with salad, topics, tzatziki and hummus. The bowl looked really small, but it was packed with flavor and food. I was stuffed at the end. They also forgot the hummus for me, but I was able to go back to the counter and ask for some. Plenty of seating inside. They also have wifi if you want to work!

#1 Greek restaurant in VA! The staff is so kind and friendly it makes you want to keep coming back! The chefs breakfast was amazingly delicious, best French toast I've had in a long time. The decor made me feel like I was eating in Greece!

"Loved the atmosphere, food was fantastic. I loved the laid-back ease where server was attentive but gave us girls some space to catch up first over a nice cup of coffee. Beets, cheese, everything was fantastic."
"Olympians Family Restaurant certainly gives off family vibes! I came for dinner on a Wednesday evening and was surprised at large the space was. There was plenty of seating, and we were able to seat ourselves. While I enjoyed the food, I must say the staff here was great! The servers were friendly and very efficient. They came back often to check on us often, but in a way that didn't seem pushy. The restaurant is also pretty tidy. It doesn't look super new, but it does look clean and well maintained. For food, we ordered the trio dip, Greek wings, gyro with French fries, and chicken souvlaki dinner. This ended up being way more food than we realized, but I enjoyed everything. One cool thing about this place is they sell lots of different Greek treats, like chocolates, cookies, olive oil, honey, and olives! I didn't see pricing, nice to have available for those interested."
"First time I try Greek food . I had the chicken kabob , beef kabob , lamb kabob ,the salad is great, the dressing is so good the bread everything is great , for dessert I try peach really yummy .. good food friendly and good service .. I highly recommend this place..."
"We have been frequenting this establishment for years and have never been disappointed. Wonderful fresh items that are pleasing to the palate. Try the branzino, always tasty. If you're there during the summer, the watermelon salad is refreshing and delicious. The desserts are few when it comes to choice, but the portions are so generous with the main dishes that you won't care all that much. The outdoor patio is nice for those Concerned regarding the pandemic. It doesn't open up to the main street, but rather a courtyard in between other venues that offer more people watching than traffic. All in all, this is a nice trip and I will be sure to make it again with my family."
"My bestii called to tell me she wanted to take me out for my birthday so I was ready but I was thinking we would go to one of our usual chain spots, but the morning of she suggested we go Greek at Mykonos. I was skeptical so she suggested I YELP it which I did and the reviews were outstanding but as many of you know, sometimes Yelp reviews can be off, lol.Mykonos did not disappoint! We started off with the saganaki appetizer (fried cheese). It was a little salty for my liking."
"Damn tasty meal was had here many moons ago. We enjoyed a veal chop, lamb chops and a side of Tzatziki. Love this place and we need to go back very soon."
"Located along South Washington Street in a small center next to Italian Cafe, this place offers a fusion of both Greek and Mexican cuisine. From the moment we stepped in to the restaurant, we were greeted with a warm friendly smile. The service was top-notch and very helpful as they explained all the options on the menu (if this is your first time here). There are a few tables to dine-in with a pleasant ambiance. The service is quick and the food was prepared fresh. We opted for the Mexican-style quesadilla and tacos, which were both delicious! Parking is available and limited in the center as it is shared with the surrounding businesses. A great neighborhood dining experience and will definitely be back again. Enjoy!"
"Decent. Not sure why Italian food is paired with Mediterranean food. Makes no sense any way you slice it. The sausage they use on their pizza tastes like it was spiced in a back alley of Beroit in the 1970s. It's just labeled "sausage" and not "cardamom, fenugreek, and black pepper sausage" That Lebanese sausage is hard to peel off, too. It's sliced like kafta (WHY???) and so is glued to the pizza dough. Good luck"
"So thankful that Yelp brought me here!! Had a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich, home fries, a bowl of watermelon and a banana all for $12.75. Breakfast was made infront of me in under 7 minutes and at the most affordable spot cannot wait to come back to this hidden gem!"
"First time customer. We've seen this business for years and finally decided to try it. Sunday brunch food was good, but there was no kids menu. While atmosphere is kid-friendly/family-friendly, the pricing of menu options were not. Service was great. Note: This business passes the 3% card surcharge to the customer. Total bill for family of 4 is $94. Nearly $100 for brunch did not seem worth it for 2 adults, a 7 and 9 year old. Would recommend this business provide kid-friendly options in the future..."
"Hidden Gem! Totally the best service and food along 301S. I've been coming here for years and although a wait, NEVER a disappointment. From breakfast to lunch I have never had a "bad" meal. The cost point is also nostalgic, pocket friendly. If you're ever looking for a guaranteed great meal and service - STOP BY!"
"We hiked sugarloaf and stopped in here midday on our way home. So glad we did. It's a small casual restaurant. Very nice bar, staff, and the owner was very personable. He stopped in regularly to make sure everything was good and we were happy. We ordered the avgolemono soup to start. The broth was really good with just the right touch of lemon. My only wish so for more of the veggies, chicken, and rice. We may have got the bottom of the pot on this hot day which is understandable. For an appetizer we ordered the octopus appetizer based on other reviews. The octopus was tender and perfectly cooked. The hummus, balsamic reduction, and other flavors they incorporated were so delicious. Not to mention, the plate is just beautiful. We ordered a special of flounder with peppers, onions, capers, tomatoes, rice, and tomato sauce. So good and flavorful. The real star was the gyro special made up of lamb and beef gyro meat, tzatziki, Greek salad, and fries. Wow. That gyro meat has to be the best I've had. We have ordered from a few places in our area, and this is by far the best. The meat is so flavorful and the pita is well seasoned as well. Everything was so good. Very highly recommend trying it if you haven't already. Solid choice."
"This beautiful jewel box was born the year I was born in falls Church . I came to know the place through my husband who had been going there for years. It quickly became our regular place to connect before we had our son. Our son grew up taking an ice cream from their fridge without telling anyone about it and assuming that it was his right to do that whenever we went there.Mr. Mr. Anthony and his amazing family always made us feel at home and now that we have moved to California what we miss the most about Virginia is our little hub! Wishing you guys much success for many many years to come, and thanks for so many wonderful memories in your place."
"Immaculate Portion sizes ! For $15 and some change you get ALOT of food! Like 2/3 lbs lol We're very generous with the ranch amount I didn't get a fork which had me upsetti spaghetti but thankfully I ate at homeThe owner is very genuine to his customers ! Was sad they didn't have cheesecake - please bring that back"
"Sunday breakfast/brunch. Been here many times but not lately for breakfast. Honestly it was disappointing considering the $90 bill. Service was disappointing- took forever just to get coffee and wow, it was not good coffee in my opinion. The meals were good, not great. Love the eggs Idaho idea though. Chocolate chip pancakes were good. Ambiance is good but definitely old looking in back room. The old local photographs are super cool."
"Very tasty food. My wife got a lamb/beef platter and I got the chicken gyro. Gyro is loaded as you can see, doubt you'll come out hungry. The chicken is well cooked and it seems like they add lemon or something to it and the lamb as well. Their lamb/beef doesn't seem to be housemade but they definitely add some more flavor to it and I thought it tasted better than the chicken. Yogurt sauce is also amazing. You can see the fresh dill. Service was reasonably fast, probably took 7-8 min. The ambiance of the place was more casual, but enjoyed the flag decor."
"This is always a favorite for us to go to. You definitely feel like you're at home and treated like family. The decor with the paintings of Greece are pretty. There are booth seats and tables towards the front, with a private area in the back for parties. Service is excellent too, very attentive and customer friendly. We usually get the chicken parm from there but this time we got the penne pasta with rose sauce and it was fantastic. We asked how the sauce is made and they mentioned it's a mixture of alfredo and tomato sauce. The portions are gigantic for the price. We also got a Greek salad to start with, and coffee with baklava for dessert at the end."
"Not the first time here but love it every time we come. The food is delicious!!! We order a platter for two and always take quarter of it home. Meat is always fresh, onions are well seasoned (like it used to be at home - Central Asia), fries are homemade and bread is always fresh. Yummy!! They have a seating area for dine-in, small cute blue square tables for 2-4 people. Perfect for kids (have high chairs). Plenty of parking. A good place for a quick (not quick read below;) bite, pick-up and local foodies. The only downside is that you have to buy water (they don't provide water or even cups for drinks you buy). They are very slow with cleaning tables, and prep orders for dine-in. We always wait for at least 35-40 min to get our food. The cashier(maybe manager maybe owner) never smiles, never follows up, so be prepared for it. Will I come back? Definitely for food not the service. At the end of the day, the taste is what matters."
"Great neighborhood spot for outdoors drinks and Greek food. Casual, low key, and has a decent amount of outdoor seating, some covered. There's also heat lamps when it's cold. Happy hour is a perfect time to pop in for cheap wines by the glass, delicious Greek apps, thin, hot fries, and good dog watching. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating area."
"A very cute restaurant in shirlington. Bar service was a little slow, though our food orders came very quickly! I had the power salad, which was delicious but... The dressing was described as "delicate" and I think it was a little too delicate even for me, and I usually prefer less is more with my salad dressing. My partner loved the beef stew, said it reminded him of winter nights at home. There were so many yummy menu items that I definitely plan to return and taste."
"This restaurant has been in our neighborhood forever but for some reason we've never tried it until now. Had a pizza craving one evening and suddenly remembered someone on the Cleveland Park listserv recommending this place awhile ago. So ordered online - they come in 12 and 14 inches and all toppings are additional charge, which makes it easy to mix and match your own choice of toppings. We had a 14 inch with pepperoni, sausage and mushroom, at $18.45 before tax and tip not cheap but quite good, medium thick crust, soft and supple, holds the toppings well - the kind that doesn't get discarded - you'd want to eat it all. Only thing to note is it takes just a bit longer than the time estimate given online when you place the order - it says 15 minutes but will actually take 25-30 mins before ready for pick up."
"Love this place!!! The couple that owns and runs it is so sweet. Check em out!!! A staple of Arlington. Right on the corner of Wilson and George Mason."
"The mousakka was great. Quick delivery and the packaged well. Taste was good as well. More on the potatoes than egg plant but still very good. I would recommend. Delivered to my hotel."
