"Had a really excellent experience here traveling with my family. The vibe was warm and pleasant. There were lots of regulars enjoying their breakfast and we were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated after a minimal wait despite the place being hopping. Kids had nicely executed pancake plates - I would recommend the egg and chorizo scramble and the chipped beef gravy. Everything was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely recommend!"
"First time in this place and I am loving the food! My most favorite is the grilled jumbo shrimp (with zucchini pesto and chili flakes sauce) and the pita slices with whipped feta dip. I would see myself bringing my partner here for a nice good dinner, another excuse to come back. The server was well presented and prepared, always ensure you are getting addressed. So customer service was fantastic. This is an indoor restaurant with bar and for sure anyone who would love to have a drink and bites would love the interior of this place. Also for drinks they offer variety including a pumpkin spiced espresso martini, whiskey pumpkin punch and apple pumpkin cider which was really good. Overall experience was great!"

"Was in Alexandria running errands waiting for one of the big box stores to open and decided to have breakfast. Parking lot was small but we had arrived fairly early on a Sunday morning so we were able to snag a spot. We were greeted and seated right away. We placed our order and it came out rather quick. I got the country fried steak and eggs breakfast; husband got the corned beef hash and eggs and we both opted for home fries tho fruit and grits were options. The country fried steak breakfast was good. The gravy had a great flavor and the breading for the chicken wasn't your typical breaded batter; it was a tempura batter. This was the first time I had it prepared that way and I wasn't mad at it tho I do prefer the traditional method. My home fries were also not made with your usual russet potato; they were made with red potatoes..again not what I was expecting. Some of them were slightly undercooked and lacked seasoning. My husband's potatoes in contrast were the total opposite. His potatoes were cooked thoroughly and had great flavor. He tasted my potatoes and exclaimed how they were nothing like his. Same exact dish, two very different executions. I concluded that the corned beef hash that sat on his potatoes must have contributed to the flavor. My eggs were cooked exactly how I asked, scrambled soft. Not many places get them right for me, but they were perfect! We also ordered an entree of french toast to share and it was ok. I honestly wanted pancakes but unless you get the executive breakfast platter, or order a single pancake for nearly five bucks, pancakes aren't offered. As for the French toast, I should have opted for this as a side (or not at all). But, unfortunately, unless you get the full size, you don't get the berries and whipped cream that comes with a full size serving (waitress made that very clear) and it needs those accompaniments to give it umph. Otherwise it is just deep fried bread and I feel like the bread was lacking. It wasn't challah or brioche even..it appeared to be plain white bread and whatever custard they used didn't appear to include any sweet nor spicy notes like cinnamon or nutmeg, because again, the syrup, whipped cream and berries gave the french toast its flavor. To have this as a side, you'd just be tasting deep fried toast with syrup (if that's what you like on your french toast). I actually would skip on getting this altogether honestly. All in all I would come back to try other dishes. The restaurant vibes were cool and the lighting was perfect; not too bright, not too dim. The service was okay as well, but not extraordinary. Wait staff were pleasant enough."
"This is definitely a long time favorite. I grew up near the area so we used to go there often growing up. It's a nostalgic place. They still have the big chocolate chip cookies we'd get as kids and they still look and taste the same as I remember. We usually get the french toast for breakfast since it's one of the best items on the menu. It's still the best french toast I've ever had from any place. They make the bread in-house so they cut them as huge slices. It melts in your mouth. So good. We also got the cheese danish which was gigantic but very tasty. It was sweet but not too sweet. It's usually really packed and busy on weekends but we went during a time when it's not so busy so we were seated quickly at a booth near the windows which was nice to see outdoors. The server came often to refill our coffees which we appreciated. You pay the check up at the front when you're done. Also at the front there's a fridge/case with cakes and desserts. The diner is pretty big with tables in the middle and booths on the ends. There's parking in the back and a bit on the side street."
"Amazing breakfast, call ahead and they will have your order ready, nice and hot, this place doesn't forget a single thing, even with big orders. I've been here twice already and it just continues to get better and better with each visit, I absolutely love the corn beef hash it's a must have anytime I go, the cheesy Grits are something special as well, very nice laid back feel here. Just love it."
"A staple in the community and an icon that stood through the civil right movement! You want good ole fashioned soul food with a combination of history and welcoming new trends, then FAG is the place! They are undergoing renovations and have added a new upstairs section, which is awesome- I gave the new consultant some ideas for improvements :-). Whether a native or visiting, this is a must on the list of places to dine!"
"Family recommended this spot for lunch and it was awesome! We were able to get a table on a Friday at the lunch hour right away. Our server was so knowledgeable and attentive. He shared the history of the restaurant with us, which was cool to learn! I opted for the falafel pita wrap with a side mixed salad for my meal and it was so tasty. My husband chose the turkey sandwich and loved it as well. They do not have parking, but there are street spots available all around. The vibe inside the restaurant feels like a historical lounge/bar and is so fitting for Georgetown. They do offer alcohol but we didn't try anything during our visit."
"Cozy atmosphere and chill out lounge jazz tunes in the background to set the vibe! Really delicious food too!"
"We had some very good food recently at Bombay Bistro. We hosted a group of four of us recently for dinner at Bombay Bistro in the middle of downtown Rockville. The food was very good, though there were a few hiccups in service and surroundings. We were fortunate to get one of the few parking spaces in the tiny lot, and were warmly welcomed. Unfortunately, the booth they seated us at was extremely tight, even though the hostess tried to move the table a little. So we quickly asked for a non-booth table, and were seated nearby. There's not a lot of extra space in the dining room, so one of the staff was insistent about taking my jacket off my chair and hanging it up for me. That behind us, we perused the interesting menu and started by sharing the samosas and the chutney sampler with pappadoms, along with a mango lassi and a Kingfisher beer for me. We were also presented with a little amuse-bouche of a little glass containing a dumpling--it might have been the menu's vegetable bhajia--which was a lovely bite to start off with.We then ordered chicken tikka makhani, chicken dosa, tandoori lamb chops, and chicken Madras curry for me. My curry was very tasty, not too spicy, and my partner's dosa was impressive, a huge filled pancake, rolled over to more or less fit on the plate. I think we all enjoyed the food very much, and there was plenty to take home for the next day. The service was attentive and pleasant. Upon visiting one of the one-person rest rooms, I was disappointed to find it with no soap. In a small restaurant, that's concerning.Overall, we enjoyed our dinner at Bombay Bistro, and would return."
"The food is not so bad, the pozole is made of can, I didn't like that, the service is good, although in the end we ordered an ice cream and it took almost half an hour to serve it, and that's why I told them again! Besides, they charge 20% for service and they still want a tip, that is, you don't have to be so abusive!!!"
"We had a delicious breakfast at Silver Diner. This restaurant is what we describe as an old school all American diner! Menu has all the items we love that brings us into a "vacation mode" feeling. There is abundant parking. Abundant seating indoor and outdoor as well. Food portions are generous. Taste was to our liking. Not too buttery, not too raw. California Omelette was very good. Country griddle had a lot of flavor in it. Service was on point. Our waitress was there when we needed something. Check this restaurant out if you are in this general area. You will not be disappointed."
"Who knew this fun bar was nestled within Chinatown - will definitely be returning!I stumbled into Crimson Whiskey on a Saturday evening while looking for a place to avoid the cold temps outside. We were greeted immediately by the hostess and directed downstairs to the primary whiskey bar. The downstairs area is surprisingly big - we were drawn down there by the awesome sound of a brass band and vocalist. The vibe and energy was fantastic; the band was playing all sorts of RnB and pop hits on a small raised stage. About 30-40 patrons total were scattered throughout the 2 large bars and multiple cocktail tables and booths. The space is warm and inviting, with lots of wooden and leather (maybe feaux leather) seating. Shoutout to the band for playing some great hits - we were singing and dancing along all night (until midnight when the band stopped). The drinks were really delicious - most cocktails range from $13-16 and are made with care. We had the house old fashioned and cafe espresso cocktail; I was really pleased with the quality of both drinks and you can tell they are made with quality ingredients. Shoutout to the bartenders! They also have a food menu with some elevated American fare options - we didn't order any food but what came out of the kitchen to other tables looked solid. Will definitely be returning for another old fashioned.Pro tip - avoid nights where there's a game or large event happening at the capital one arena. The caps game ended around 10:30 after which time, the bar became PACKED wall to wall."

Service is top notched, wait staff friendly and cordial, quick on their feet. Atmosphere is laid back and community friendly. Rami the owner is an absolute delight to meet, first time here at Joe's (Rami's uncle) Cafe. You can tell this place that opened in 2019, offers what others come back time and time again - long line of wait at 9:30am on a Saturday. Rami makes sure that he calls his customers by name, engages them while waiting. Now how's the food? Definitely everything is delicious! I ordered steak and cheese omelet which comes with choice of toast and grits or home fries or hash browns. Very reasonably priced for the portions. Thanks Rami for a wonderful breakfast experience from a former Herndon resident dropping by to visit my old haunt!

I came here because we wanted to try a new brunch place in Old Town Alexandria and this got some fantastic reviews. I was not disappointed in this quaint, charming, old fashioned diner. Food (5/5): We split the fried chicken biscuit. It was a bit pricey for a sammie, but it was HUGE and it came with a side of a fried egg and some fried fingerling potatoes. We ate half each and took some of the biscuit and the potatoes home. Service (5/5): Max was our kind, attentive server. Nothing to complain about! Ambiance (5/5): I loved the cool, dark old fashioned interior. Such a fabulous find!

Food is really good and worth 4 or 5 stars especially given the price. Also has a great setting with views of the footsteps of old town. Sadly the reason this isn't a 4 or 5 star review is the service. Our waiters (yes multiple because we had to flag down another just to order) attended to us maybe once every 15-20 minutes at most. It was ah hour long experience just to order a water, then food, then the check. I'd come back if I knew the service was on-time

Greek food with all the classic diner plates. Local favorite with large portions. Love their spinach pie with salad while friends love their tuna sandwiches, fries and waffles.

I've been wanting to try this place for forever but I was never sure if/when they were open. I was determined to try them so I absolutely had to figure it out. It's lent and as a New Orleans native, I was craving some good fried catfish. The menu stated they had "Cajun" fried catfish so I had to check it out myself. This is true fried catfish that could satisfy any Creole or Cajun's tastebuds. As many others have stated, this place is ran by a one woman show in the front. I didn't even catch her name because she was so busy but she was always kind. When you come in, you take a seat and there is a barcode for you to scan and order. This place used to be cash only now it's card only so be prepared (this is where the star is lost). I ordered the catfish dinner with macaroni and candied yams as my side. Like others have stated, the candied yams do give "canned." Probably Gloria's but lucky for me, I like canned candied yams. The price isn't astronomical so I'm not going to throw a fit about it. The macaroni and cheese was really good. I made sure to take a picture of the drink. I had fruit punch with a splash of lemonade. Tastes like some good ol red Kool aid from summers as a kid. And they have the "good ice" here! I love a no frills diner so I will be back especially since we are currently in the season of lent. This place also has a Jamaican menu starting at a certain time. I plan on checking that part of the menu out as well.

For a basic "university local bar" is as good as it gets. Down dodgy looking stairs to expansive well appointed sports bar with heavy boat club ambience. Good service with mixture of students and visitors. Menu good for such a bar and good bar choices. Surprisingly there is a real active fireplace. Tome beer ok but nothing special. Brisket with spiced fries just the right volume. There is a happy hour but watch out for karaoke night!parking ok if you are lucky.

Food: I ordered spring rolls, two drunken noodle jae, and thai tea for carryout. I've been going here for many years, and just like always, the food was delicious and fulfilled my cravings. Service: I understand that this a family owned business, and the staff are always friendly and professional. Ambiance: It's a very cute and cozy spot, fun for dates with a significant other, friends, and family.

"Classic steak n cheese and other deli and carry out foods. Call or order ahead. There is a counter where you can eat. Park around the corner at public lot."
"The perfect place for breakfast or lunch. Not matter what you want. It is all made here are the open oven. The team is perfect. The prices are great. It is good home cooking that cannot go wrong no matter what you want. Try everything and you will be happy. From scrambled eggs and baco to pancakes or waffles. Even vegan hash was a good meal with fresh made vegetables and cheese over fresh potatoes. It is something that cannot go wrong. And do not forget the coffee. This alone is worth it. Thanks to the team for all their help. It is a place to put on the list whenever you are in town."
"Food is typical of an old school diner. Simple, decently priced, and delicious. Choose a seat at the bar top overlooking the grill or take a table. Service can be hit or miss but overall it's ok. Pancakes are fluffy and tasty. Restaurant is well maintained on the inside despite it being from 1982! Clean! Nick's Diner is a Wheaton gem!"
"Truly one of the last diners around. The place is cozy and family owned. We were so happy we beat the morning rush and were seated right away. The wait staff were so attentive. The restaurant offers the typical morning breakfast platters, eggs with protein and potatoes, as well as fresh pancakes. My eggs over medium were cooked perfectly and my husband enjoyed his scrapple. My daughter was so happy they had shredded hash browns. It is surprisingly how hard it is to fine the "shredded" kind. Lately only IHOP carries them. Most restaurants have potato cubes or home fries but my daughter's favorite is the shredded style. The bottom is super crispy and the top side is nice soft potato. I wish the restaurant was located closer to us because then we would go more often."
"If you like all-day diners this is a gem. Has all the wonderful features of a breakfast diner, without the downsides. It's clean, the food is fantastic, and the atmosphere relatively calm and inviting. Our food was really well prepared, which says a lot for bacon, eggs, sausage, French toast, etc. There was nothing that seemed like a "greasy spoon" restaurant about this place. On top of the great breakfast menu, they serve tasty lunches and have a full service bar for evenings. The bar had a great selection of craft beers and premium draft beers. I like that it is not over-crowded and is very clean for a "diner." I will absolutely frequent this restaurant and would never think again about going to an IHOP, Denny's, or any other chain. This blows them away for quality and experience."
"Great place and great food. If you like those tucked away breakfast places, this is the one for you!"
"Well I believe all the right things were in place to make this a solid and positive review but sadly it was not. This being a new location gives a sense of expectation. I ordered a simple chicken sandwich and the server noticed that there was an issue with the system and they were simply taking too long. He assured me he would talk to the manager about a discount which seems fair. I have been here over an hour and I still don't have my check. The manager said no. And hey I wasn't expecting that my meal would be comped but something for my time. Even a manager showing up and apologizing would suffice...but nothing. Service was as expected, the food was pretty good, but it took entirely too long to make. And it wasn't busy... needless to say, I'm guessing day time management might be better. Maybe this could have been 3 stars if I wouldn't still be waiting for my check...Enjoy"
"So good! Did some early morning grocery shopping, which, of course, made us hungry. Too early for lunch but a bit past breakfast... helloBRUNCH TIME! Being that it was Good Friday, we needed meatless options and this place did the trick quite nicely. We were greeted promptly and seated immediately by a very chipper man, who turned out to be our server, Bobby. He brought us water right away and took our order within seconds of closing our menu.Food came quickly and was delicious. Toast was slightly under done & side of tomatoes were sliced too super thin but everything else was perfect. Service was top notch efficient. Every employee that passed our table inquired if we would like more coffee and we never had any needs not met. The staff was super friendly and haPlace was clean and very quaintly decorated & they have an outside patio for al fresco weather. Plenty of parking and easily accessible."
"Always great! Normally only go for breakfast and it really takes me home. Garlic fried rice and tocino?! Heck yes thanks. Really has a homey feel to the place. Always welcoming and the staff is great. I love the canned Calamansi juice they serve here and all the dishes we have had have been that authentic taste. Great parking! Make sure to use the vinegar sauce!"
"I really want to give this place 4 stars for the service and steak, but the food just wasn't it for me. The steak was surprisingly cooked to perfection at medium rare! It was juicy and soft to eat, just needed salt and pepper. The hash brown was weird, tasting like it was baked in the same pan as pastries. There was barely a crunch to it. The fries were yummy, crispy and soft at the same time. The milkshake is only good for show: the chocolate cake was comparable to a grocery store's without the extra sweetness. The milkshake itself was meh with the ice cream they used. They do have a lot of tasty sounding food here, but I would skip the desserts."
"Open city is the only way to start my morning here at work gotta love the Coffee and breakfast here. I service is always quick and easy even when they have a line this place has a nice warm feeling like you're in a small little cottage out in the woods. Love this place."
"Very aesthetically pleasing this meal was!It also had a pretty pleasing taste too. I took the top slice off of the bottom one to better disperse the sweet sauce and apples. The French toast itself was perfectly cooked and fluffy. The location is very ideal and the service was alright!"
"This place is divey (I mean REAL divey) but they whip up a mean and hearty breakfast. With so many delicious breakfast staples on the menu, it was kinda hard to choose. I decided on the Waffle Plate: a Belgian waffle, turkey bacon, turkey sausage, and scrambled eggs and cheese and it was great! Everything was cooked to order, just the way I wanted it, and the wait wasn't long at all despite there being a few customers ahead of me.Definitely coming back to try out the rest of this menu."
"Had the country fried steak breakfast w coffee for $10. Can't beat that! Especially when the service was great and the meal was excellent! I went on a Monday 11am..so it wasn't busy. Although as I was leaving, more people were coming in for lunch..."
"Sharks never disappoints when I don't feel like cooking. We always get the fried whiting, fried shrimp, and we also get grilled shrimp and rice. Their slushies are good too. They only use Hilal meat which is also a plus."
"Sweet Sweet did not disappoint. In town for the week but always like to try out different spots. Upon entry the staff was very welcoming. Of course we came with questions and typically like to ask what is recommended. The staff didn't rush us and we actually engaged with some of the customers as well regarding options. That's great but what was the best is the sweet lady working literally lined up everything we typically eat and were interested in for us to try out the food. This was probably the worst because everything was amazing! We ended up ordering cassava leaves, brown stew chicken, and jerk chicken. Wanted some etgusi as well but knew we wouldn't get through all the food. Portion sizes were huge! Literally 3-4 people could eat off one plate. Based off what we ordered I can't determine a favorite because it was all so good. Inside is clean but small with outdoor seating. If you're in the DC area don't hesitate to come here. Literally anything off the menu is good."
"This place is pretty good when it comes to the food and service. The people in there are nice and the place its self is quiet and nice. Recommend this place to be with families and friends!"
"I went last night with some girlfriends and we're all SO excited to welcome this restaurant to our neighborhood. The ambiance was lovely, the wine was delicious and very reasonable ($28/bottle?!), the service was perfection (frequently refilling water, checking in but not rushing us since my friends and I had a lot to catch up on), and most importantly, the food was DELICIOUS. I need to try everything on the menu now. We started with the Baba Ganoush and the Mantu dumplings. OMG - the dumplings are the best thing I've eaten in a long time. For my main course, I ordered the Kofta Chalaw - slow-cooked beef meatballs in a rich tomato gravy served with rice. I ate too many dumplings so I brought half of this dish home and it was just as delicious the next day.A couple of my friends ordered vegetarian items, which were delicious and flavorful and only $9. We probably should have ordered a bunch of items to share.I can't wait to come back on a date night with my husband and/or to try brunch."
"Do you want a flavorful meal? Ready to start eating healthy but not sure what to eat? You gotta try this new spot! I'm not a Turkey person I must say. But I love supporting new Black Owned Businesses. So I came to Jyve Turkey yesterday for the first time! The decor was inviting and conversation sparking. Clean and fresh smelling and looking. Staff 10/10 very sweet and even brought me a menu to my car when she saw I was waiting for them to open them she gave me very good advice and direction on the menu. ( what's good) I had: Turkey Burger with all the toppings ( lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup and mayo, grilled onions) combo with garlic mashed red potatoes. 10/10Hubby : Turkey chops with gravy and peppers dinner 10/10 We also had the sweet potato pie 10/10 and sweet potato pound cake 9/10 ( wasn't sweet and was a tad dry but good) We came back today for the Turkey burgers again!!! This time we had collard greens 9/10 and the string beans 9/10! Remember what I said? I don't do Turkey but this was GOODT! Looks like I do Turkey now, but only from Jyve Turkey"
"The coupe:It used to be my spot with my Love. I don't have no more time in the sunday mornings. We enjoyed amazing lattes or Matcha. We had mostly of the breakfast side. Love the burrito and huevos rancheros. I've been twice for lunch. Love the cozy grilled cheese with the tomatoe soup and the burguers. I love the variety of food they have, and restaurant it's very cozy. The service is good."
"The Diner is a nice little spot in the Adams Morgan neighborhood. Their "Open 24 Hours Thursday through Sunday" speaks to the clientele that they cater toward. We were coming in for lunch on a Thursday around noon and had the place mostly to ourselves. Our large party showed up in several groupings and situated ourselves on the wall where booth seating was separated from the chairs by sensible and well-worn wooden tables. Large mirrors lined the walls behind me and the stainless steel kitchen hustled behind the bar in front of me. Food is just as practical, specializing in... well, diner food. You're going to find burgers, sandwiches and breakfast items. Oh! They offer tater tots or onion rings as well as the standard fries at no extra cost. Tots! I got the classic cheeseburger and tots and left with a full belly. I was a little disappointed that there were no condiments on the sandwich; ketchup on the table, but no mustard or promised cup of mayo on the side so it was a little dry. Service started strong but trailed off after the food was delivered. The server was really good about offering to break up the check in a way that compromised without going individual and brought out the meals in a reasonable time. After that, though, I don't think I saw them again and sat with an unfilled water for most of my meal. The Diner is a solid option without being particularly memorable."
"Such a warm and inviting atmosphere inside and the service was great. We were seated immediately and our drinks came out so fast. We each ordered a signature cocktail and all of them were made well and had great flavor. I opted for the edamame which was nice and cooked well. Others at our table ordered sandwiches which they really enjoyed. We weren't able to on our visit but there are a lot of fun outdoor seating options to take advantage of during nice weather."
