Kim L. "This is my FAVORITE Korean BBQ spot in the DMV. This review is long overdue, but I can also give a more objective review since I've been here several times over the years since its opening. The best thing about Meokja Meokja is that the quality of the food and service has not declined at all since it first opened. Service is always spectacular and the quality of the meats remain consistently fresh. Prices for the different cuts of meat in my opinion have also remained extremely fair. The banchan are also plentiful and yummy. They also finally allow reservations as well (make reservations online)! I highly recommend the brisket, spicy pork belly, galbi, and thick unmarinated pork belly! Don't forget to also order the corn cheese and egg :) Don't forget to tip the servers! They work so hard and always grill the meats to perfection!"

Service was very amazing, our host Maria took really great care of us!! Would have loved to try their pastry basket but it took so long and came after we had already ate, other than that it was a really great experience for me."

It's just busy and just understand it is. The theme and decor has never lost its touch. There is history behind the name. I've always liked the feel of the place. I would describe the food as a typical college type of good. Pizza and good sandwiches. Being a hokie this is what we lived off of. Known for their pizzas I went with go to Italian and for my daughter the grown up grilled cheese. Both just good enough to share for both of us. If you're in the area this is a neighborhood spot that you should check out."

Now, mango sticky rice is hands down one of my favorites things on the planet. And it's very hard to find as mangoes are out of season. Jens J. "Belle Haven Pizzeria "The Haven" has some very good pizza, but Belle Haven is also a good neighborhood sit-down restaurant, with a bit of a bar & grill feel.Aside from the great pizzas, what stands out in my mind about The Haven is how friendly, helpful and accommodating the staff is. This has always been the case on our several visits here.On our last visit, I ordered the Chopped Salad and JP got the Smoked Wings (1/2 Old Bay and 1/2 Thai Chili). The Chopped Salad is served as a good, not overwhelming, portion. I liked its white balsamic vinegar dressing. The fried chicken in the salad was good, but I was not totally in love with its seasonings. The Smoked Wings are decent and so is the calamari appetizer. The only menu item I cannot recommend whole-heartedly is the Steak & Cheese sandwich. The cheese on it is a liquid variety that is very salty.Prices are reasonable."

Annie P. "This is definitely one of the cooler drinking spots in NOVA where you forget that you're surrounded by office buildings. My review is only for the beer since I haven't partaken in the food. There's a wide selection of German beers on tap and they're all the same price ($8).The payment system with chips is interesting, but apparently it's similar to what you do in Germany. You purchase your chips at the entrance (and have the option of adding tip if paying with credit card) and each color is for a different item and all cost $8. They also never expire so you can always come back with them! There's also mugs throughout the bar for cash tips as well. In addition to several tables with picnic style seating, there's also a few games such as Connect 4, cornhole, beer pong and big Jenga that you can play with your group. The parking situation isn't ideal since there's a shared lot with 20 or so spaces but there's also a garage about a 5 minute walk away with plentiful parking. Bring your ticket with you so it can be validated."

Hammed A. "For what it's worth, this is a classic sports bar. I believe this is a Philly team sports bar. On football weekends this place shadows a divey atmosphere with beer soaked tables and floors. I visited on an NFL weekend and it was packed, shoulder to shoulder. On weekends and major sporting events this bar is perfect for singles and the young crowd who are not turned off by close contact with others. How packed was it? Borderline uncomfortable. They have plenty of drink options to choose from. The business does a good job of maintaining city ordinance on capacity limits, so it is not uncommon to experience long lines to enter. Overall a good casual sports bar option for the U Street/14th Street corridor."

Great place for casual dining and late night food as well! Cozy inside with a nice big patio in the back that can also be covered and heated when it's cold. I love me some chicken tenders and these were on point - crispy but juicy inside and not dry. I was curious to try the banh mi sausage dog. Normally, Asian fusion food tends not to go well but it was actually pretty good. The spices and aioli sauce were very balanced. I asked the bartender to surprise me with a drink. I wanted to try something new. She did a great job with a ginger beer, tequila and grapefruit cocktail! They have comedy, trivia, barks and brews animal rescue nights, and music bingo and karaoke nights will be there soon! I'm excited! "I think I found my favorite Chi Mc location! We came here for an early dinner, and we ordered:+Tteokbokki - while the dduks were soft and chewy and the sauce was creamy, this was just way too spicy for me!+Japchae - super oily and greasy, this was just okay in flavors; the hubs enjoyed this, but we wouldn't order this again+a medium order of wings - we opted for the soy garlic flavor, requesting extra sauce; the batter/coating was so much better, and the soy garlic flavor was on point - the wings were prepared perfectly, it was crispy, and the sizes of the wings were great!Service was friendly and pretty efficient, considering that there were many call-aheads and to-go orders.Note that the wings are made-to-order, and ours took about 35 minutes, as quoted.Plenty of seating inside, and the place is clean and well-kept.Located in the plaza off of Beulah, next to Matsui, there's parking available; it can get filled up quickly, though!+soy garlic wings+friendly service+parking available"

We sat at the bar and both bartenders were very attentive and kind. We asked for a happy hour menu, and two different waitress/bartenders were very accommodating while looking for the menu, and what we learned was that the pizza was served NY pizza style with any toppings, nachos were a big portion and the burger slider was more of a regular burger size! I went ahead and ordered the "slider" and the 1/2 nachos.. I would've been fine with just one of those happy hour appetizers bc the portions were much larger than expected, and only for $7.85 ish. The burger was delicious and the nachos were SPICY! I liked it, but wished there was more cheese on it! Beer: I didn't like the cider: it was too sweet but so are all bold rocks. They have local beers- I liked the cream one, it had a good beginning and after taste.!! The Mac beer was good too! A bit choppy! Trivia begins at 7 pm, and they give you a paper for your answers! The trivia included history, science, and other categories (see pictures). Overall: vibes were AMAZING, and food was impressive despite their known name as a sports bar.I would most definitely come again!!"

You can choose to get your dumplings steamed or pan fried. I did a mix of both in the flavors edamame and teriyaki chicken. Service was quick as it only took about ten minutes. My friend said they had larb in the past but it was not nearly as delicious as what we were served. I tend to be able to handle spicy food, but I always am concerned when trying a new place, so I asked to drop the spicy down a notch on my green Thai curry, which is my baseline dish for trying all Thai places. My friends and I had just finished going to the Coffee Festival around the corner and were hopped up on caffeine and needed food! I ordered the pork soup dumplings and pork fried dumplings. While I know the soup dumplings would take a bit longer, even the guy working there apologized twice for how long it was taking. My friends had already gotten their food and were outside, halfway done with their meals before I ever came out. He said he'd throw in some freebies for the long wait, but that didn't happen. And despite the long wait, I really hoped it would have been worth it. Unfortunately, they were just ok, and somehow, after all that time, not even fully cooked. They were still quite doughy. In fact, I was going to grab some sweet surprises and walk back to the coffee shop. However, I saw that they had coffee and asked if they had free Wi-Fi and I was SOLD! Plus, they have a much more open area with a cute little seating area. I also tried one of their hot spicy coffees and it had a nice kick to it and who doesn't love the kick of the caffeine to wake you up! My goal is to always try a new donut, but some of my top faves include the peanut butter jelly, the creme brulee and the seasonal cherry blossom. You won't be disappointed. On this trip, I decided to try the lemon meringue and the chocolate chip cookie dough. - lemon meringue - I have to say that the lemon meringue flavors, and the oozing of the lemon topped with the meringue was so delightful that I feel that it's my all-time favorite donut. - chocolate chip cookie dough - I thoroughly enjoyed this which was also full of chocolate goodness with those chips on the outside.
