Kim L. "This is my FAVORITE Korean BBQ spot in the DMV. This review is long overdue, but I can also give a more objective review since I've been here several times over the years since its opening. The best thing about Meokja Meokja is that the quality of the food and service has not declined at all since it first opened. Service is always spectacular and the quality of the meats remain consistently fresh. Prices for the different cuts of meat in my opinion have also remained extremely fair. The banchan are also plentiful and yummy. They also finally allow reservations as well (make reservations online)! I highly recommend the brisket, spicy pork belly, galbi, and thick unmarinated pork belly! Don't forget to also order the corn cheese and egg :) Don't forget to tip the servers! They work so hard and always grill the meats to perfection!"

The side dishes are very basic but all you need for kbbq. The salad is really good. They have a good dipping sauce for the meats too. Perfect because I usually like getting the plain meats like brisket and pork belly. They actually let you cook it crispy too. Got here at a perfect time bc when we left it was busier. We just knew we had to have them cater for our wedding. We worked with Dianne and negotiated a what we consider very generous price for all the delicious food that we ended up getting. We catered for 150 and no one went home hungry. One small thing, there may not have been enough servers as the serving line did move a bit slowly. We got compliments on all of the food though. The brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, collard greens, beans and potato salad were all good. We highly recommend using them for all your catering needs."

Tiffany W. "Made dinner reservations for 2 on a Saturday at 6pm. Upon arrival I was surprised that the restaurant was pretty empty, as I was expecting the need for reservations. When I mentioned that to the hostess, she said it would get busier soon. It did get busier but not where every table was occupied. But reservations are still a good idea.I tried one of the craft cocktails, the Southern Sky. I took a video of it being presented. It was fun but not as much smoke as you would think. I was also surprised that I didn't get a buzz from it. It was pretty good though. The cornbread bites were delicious! I was happy to see them because I didn't see cornbread on the menu and was disappointed at first. For my entree I ordered the crab cakes. The server wanted to call out that they were smoked so to not expect Maryland crab cakes. But once they arrived, I honestly wouldn't have known there was a difference. They were delicious and tasted like I would expect a crab cake to taste. Opted for mac & cheese instead of fries for a side which was a smart decision because it was just how I like it: baked on top but cheesy inside. So good! Kept the other side of Brussels sprouts (which were a bit too charred and greasy for my liking, but still good).Ordered a blondie for dessert. It underwhelmed me and needed more ice cream, so I didn't finish it.This is a cute but small spot, playing country music, and with some fun decor (see the video of the different types of wood). It's in a great location with plenty of parking options (street and garage). A solid spot for food and drinks."

Anyway, I don't know what was going on today, but it seemed like the young guy working the counter at the Alexandria location today seemed to have no idea what was going on.The table behind me had an issue with their order where they got corn pudding instead of cornbread that they asked for. The table next to me only got half of their order. Then we didn't get what we ordered either. We ordered the Texas brisket...and mind you, there is only ONE item on the menu with "Texas" and "Brisket" in the name. I ended up with the plain brisket sandwich. When I went and asked about it, the other guy was trying to tell me "yeah, that's Texas brisket". And I asked "where on the menu is this item was?"...he said the one that says brisket. I was "does it say TEXAS?!?!". I have no idea which one we paid for because they also had taken our receipt and also gave us our items to go when we asked to eat in. I don't know, but it was a really annoying experience. Considering everyone else around us also had issues with their order, maybe I wasn't overreacting and confused about what we ordered versus what we received. It was just a bad experience overall, which is disappointing. The food was okay, but it wasn't the @$@&ing Texas brisket that's on the menu. ‍"

I ordered the platter with 2 meats, 2 sides, and it also came with cornbread. The brisket was definitely not the best, but better than anything I've had this northeast in the country. I really loved the pulled pork, and it paired nicely with the array of sauces available. I was surprised at how much of the sides you get--and honestly they were pretty tasty! The mac and cheese has a little kick and using cavatappi was a nice touch. The baked beans were really good and had a little meat in it, which clearly shows how much love went into it.Considering how much takeout is these days, I appreciate having a decently priced option for dinner!"

The price point is fair, and it's cool that seafood gets included. We pretty much tried every protein available, but our favorites included: thin-sliced brisket because it cooks quick and goes great with sauce, thin-sliced pork belly, and spicy pork belly. Our favorite side was the fried rice cake! The corn cheese came in small little foil cups that seemed to be portioned out for individual servings. The industrial decor inside makes it look pretty cool. The lighting is alright, and it's a fun time with a group to enjoy a meal. 1 grill for 6 people was crazy, and we ended up eating more rice than meat due to being absolutely hungry though."

Nnifer N. "I went to Creek Lodge on a Saturday for brunch. The service and ambiance were good and the food was tasty.Needs improvement:The website - The order online function pops up on the home page (minor annoyance). There's a brunch menu for the Sunday buffet, but finding the non-Sunday brunch menu required more searching than necessary. The Saturday brunch menu - The brunch menu differed slightly from what was online. One of the sections had no heading, so there was no indication that several items describing omelet contents were egg dishes. The web version needs updating and the print version needs further review. We wouldn't have ordered hash browns had we known the breakfast items came with home fries. Food description vs presentation - My brunch companion ordered On the Border, which arrived as a cheese omelet was accompanied by a small pile of black beans. There was no avocado or ranchero sauce. When we requested the ranchero sauce, we received a side of marinara. Accompanying the breakfast items were 4 slices of thickly sliced toast equal to about half a loaf. I love bread, but this was a comical amount of toast. Lastly, there was a brunch menu posted on the restroom stall door that had several misspellings corrected in pencil ("stake" to "steak" and "chilli" to "chilli"). Were these edits made by staff or a patron? Who knows. Overall, a good experience."

"I have been to O My ChiQ so many times I would consider it my go to place when I'm done with an event or I just crave those thinly cut fries that they have.I personally get their Soy Garlic Wings but this time I'm talking about the Chicken Bowl. If you like fresh chicken with veggies and rice over spicy mayo, this is the protein packed bowl for you. For me this is what I enjoy eating most of the time. It's not too heavy and the chicken is also juicy. I'm sure they used one of their rotisserie chickens and got the meat from there. And the Julienne fries, they are worth every single cent. You can get this with seasoning but I personally think salt is the best choice. Perhaps I just enjoy salt a bit too much. It's crispy, crunchy, and doesn't feel like it's too much for your stomach since it's so thin. You could say I'm a regular. Shameka N. "I visited on a Saturday around 3:30pm. From the moment I parked until after I finished my meal and left, the front door was consistently revolving with patrons, majority looked like regulars. There were quite a bit of Filipino families and individuals that ordered while I was there so if I had to rate the quality on authenticity, I'd say they nailed it. I told the young lady it was my first time visiting and I asked her what everything was and she was polite the entire time as she explained the dishes. The meals are served cafeteria style and some things are made to order such as the fried pork I wanted but the smallest size was 1lb. Since I was by myself I didn't want to bother but next time I'll bring someone or my kids so they can share. I decided on the platter which was $11+ and a desert $6+ bringing my total to $18 and change. The platter consisted of rice and two entrees. I wanted to get something I was familiar with (chicken adobo) and an unfamiliar dish (a sliced pork and pork sausage in sweet tomato base sauce). Both were very good. The sausage was flavorful and what I would think was homemade. The desert was different but reminded me of a soupy warm rice pudding as far as taste but more-so coconut flavor. There were pieces of plantain and what I thought was sweet potato but it wasn't as well as another item that was chewy almost like a dumpling. I would get the desert again. I dined outside at the single four chaired table on the front porch of the restaurant and was unbothered except for the occasional fly or two. I would definitely visit again to try more authentic Filipino eats. For visuals, visit @CultivatedKeyEats on TikTok and IG"

I was driving with the windows down and caught the BBQ smell and immediately knew I had to have it so I turned around. Only problem was, I couldn't find the place. there's no huge BBQ pit out front, just amazing smells (look for the wood pile). After finding it and parking, I entered the regular looking door and found that it's mainly a catering operation that allows you to call in or order there and takeout orders. I got three brisket breakfast tacos. As weird as it sounds, when I opened the container, the tacos were beautiful. Like...the presentation was on point. Maybe I was just hungry. Located behind the Whole Foods and Trader Joes, Seoul has plenty of lot parking and less chaos. The interior is wide and open, the TVs play K-Pop music videos to keep the spirits up, and everything is clean and emmaculate. The restaurant offers both entree meals and Korean BBQ. There is no unlimited Korean BBQ options, so you can pick from either the a la carte options or the pre-set combos. The meat quality is very good and is delicious even without a marinade. Your server will be the one to prep, cook, and cut your meats, so you don't need to worry about the internal temperatures. The banchan assortment is varied and delicious and compliments whatever meats you order.I have not seen the place really busy before. Granted, I've shown up at a fairly early dinner hour (5-6:30 PM) on the weekends, but I haven't seen more than two other tables filled. I'm assuming they get busier the later on it gets, but the plus of showing up early is never having to worry about getting a table and service.
