"We recently moved to the area and found this spot on Yelp. We love it! We usually place our orders on Yelp for takeout and the food is prepared so quickly. Our favorite item from here are the birria tacos. The meat was really flavorful and the consume was great. I ordered without cheese because dairy upsets my stomach but I'm sure it would taste even better with cheese! We also tried the California burrito, Mexicuban Torta, and carne asada burrito. All were great and we would definitely order from here again. We also ordered the cookies and chocolate cake from the bakery and they were delicious."
"First place we visited to get coffee and did not disappoint! The pistachio latte is delicious and definitely worth a try, don't be surprised if you find bits of pistachios in it haha.Generally, there's plenty of seating, it's just a matter of finding one whenever it gets busy. The staff are super friendly and I already can't wait to try more things on their menu!"

"I ordered a smash cake for my son's 1st birthday. Positives: I was satisfied with their service from the beginning. Terri was helpful with giving me options in how to get close to the cake I envisioned. We communicated the details via email which helped everyone stay on track and focus on the details. The cake was only $35 which I thought was a great price. The cake tasted delicious. It wasn't too sweet, given that it was made with vanilla, butter cream, and oreos.Needs improvements: It didn't have the smash factor I expected. Especially for a one year old, he couldn't smash it even with my help. Also, there was more icing than there was cake. Lastly, the oreo filling was dry, not moist as I expected a filling to be. Overall, I would recommend this bakery. They just need to improve on a few things."
"Had the most delicious pastries here while on a recent trip to DC. Their Paris-Breste was absolutely incredible and the chocolate eclair was to die for. I am so glad I stopped by."
"The coffee was hot, nutty, bold and the tiramisu was rich, creamy, moist; the ratio cream to cake was perfect. I wish it was heavier on the espresso or coffee flavor. The service was quick and friendly, the place was small, cozy, bright; and beautifully decorated."
"Came here after my roommate recommended it. Stopped by with a friend for some breakfast and coffee. I was unprepared for how many great treats they had! We each got a messy egg breakfast sandwich and coffee. I also tried their seasonal lavender iced tea, which was very tasty. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Ambiance is friendly and there's some seating indoors and outdoors, though limited. They offer amazing pastries and an assortment of dry goods, spreads, pastas, cheese, and more! I felt like the more I looked the more I found. I ended taking a loaf of banana bread home with me and my roommates and I enjoyed every bite throughout the week. Can't wait to go back!"
"Stopped here for breakfast, tried the sliders and calzone. Everything absolutely delicious. The mocha is a great option too if you want something sweet for coffee. It was so good we had breakfast here 2 days in a row during our DC stay!"
"I've never had anything bad here. I love the pastries, the whole cakes, and the drinks. The best is coming in the morning when everything is coming right out the oven. Lots of seating inside and outside (when it's not frigid out) as well."
"Delicious baked goods, friendly service, amazing mission, and pleasant interior with cozy tables."
"I've been here a few times and everything I've had has been phenomenal. Definitely the best key lime cupcake I've ever had! The scones make you like scones. The lemon tart, perfection. If you are looking for a box of pastries for work or a party, this is the place."
"Finding delicious gluten free bakery items is like finding buried treasure, under the sea. They are rare gems and I am glad to help spread the word, when you strike treasure. Last night, I tasted the gingerbread cookies and Yule log from Rise Bakery. I would have never known they were gluten free. The gingerbread cookies were adorable and tasted great. The Yule log was beautifully crafted and a show piece. It tasted just as delicious, as it looked. Service was great. We ordered ahead and it was ready and waiting for us. The place is cute and clean. I would highly recommend this bakery if you want gluten free items, that are tempting and tasted great."
"First time at tatte. I was in love even before I opened the door! How beautiful! I'm really going to miss this cafe.Beautiful tiling, display of pastries, the merchandise, the clean wide spaced bar tables for laptops and lattes. I came back twice for their house latte but iced. Sandwhiches are good too. Perfect for a quick breakfast or brunch. But also that vibe! I could spend all day with my laptop in this place. #love"

For the second year in a row we got a large order of the tamales to share with the family for Christmas. This place is legit. Amazing food and lovely staff. It may look like a typical strip-mall business from the outside, but done be deceived. They have an extensive menu that's Well with the trip. It's official - this is now part of our annual tradition.

Ugh I LOVE Tattes! The quality is soooo good and this one is no exception. Their pastries are delicious; I hope I can try every one someday. Their seasonal lattes always hit the spot and it's an excellent spot to sit down with a colleague or friend and slow down. It gets a little loud during the lunch hour, but you can always select a table outside if you are worried about that.

Apparently German Chocolate cakes are hard to come by in this area. Buzz to the rescue! I stopped in randomly one day looking for a sweet treat and struck up a conversation with Terry, who is extremely helpful and nice. German chocolate was not part of their normal custom cake offering but they were able to accommodate my order. It was a seamless ordering process, I didn't have any tight turns rounds or crazy requests. The cake was a hit, moist and very "heavy" for a 6". I've been twice and never had to wait in line longer than 5 min to order.I've also had the red velvet and carrot cupcakes- both moist and delicious. They make a lot of coffee syrups in house, so I'm curious to try those. Buzz has a great atmosphere, nice decor, great customer service and ample street parking. The desserts are good and they have a great selection. I'll surely return!

Nearly everyday since February 11, 2024 when I was here - I've thought about how good the mushroom quiche I had at Boulangerie Christophe was. Ok, that might be a bit of exaggeration. It's probably more like 75% of days. It was that good though. In the immortal words of Ja'mie, it was "so quiche."I also tried something sweet there... but I can't even remember what it was. It was overtaken in memory by the quiche. I think the quiche might have had creme fraiche ... and/or cream cheese in it. It was pretty rich. One thing that is pretty cool about this location is that there is a like a bad covered patio portion of the bakery. It's almost like a little secret hidden oasis with plenty of tables and chairs that's like half outside. Does anyone want to go get quiche with me?

I have never had one bad food item from this spot! Every pastry, cookie, cake, pie I have had has been out of this world. I hope this place never closes!

Came here since I really had to use the restroom and my friend needed some food in her system. It's cool that you can see the behind the scenes of bakers baking bread and pastries through a window right by the entrance. The bathroom is gender neutral, and was clean. I loved the artwork inside. My friend got an apple tart and a baguette sandwich (can't remember how it was said on the menu but essentially a ham and cheese). The prices are on the higher end, but I'd say they give a good amount of food to make it worth it. There is also a market place with different Knick knacks food items for convenience -- think tiny Nutella jars for $1.50, gummy candies, homemade hummus containers. Though there was a line, service was fast and we were in and out. I'd love to give it another shot since I treated my friend out but she had to head home right after.

Perfect pretzel place! This small grab and go restaurant is the simple neighborhood stop where you can grab either a light pretzel or a heavier option with egg, bacon or a hot dog. It has a fast casual feel so you can either sit at one of the small tables inside or outside. I loved the breakfast sliders with bacon, egg and cheese pretzel sandwich. The regular salt pretzels were delicious with a touch of salt and not too much. The wide selection of sauces were also delicious. Service was fast and efficient.

This place is hopping! They aren't getting any awards for ambiance but the baked goods and beverages more than make up for it. I had a field day picking out baked goods to try before arriving at the cakes display. They're some of the most beautiful store bought cakes I've ever seen. My husband and I shared a slice of the sweet potato cake. It was absolutely delicious. The cheesy honey pancakes were just as described - chewy and sweet. I could eat a platter of those. Finding a place to sit was a bit tricky but not impossible. We sat in some armchairs at a shared table with others. Given the noise and crowds, we didn't exactly linger and took our drinks with us. My matcha lavender honey latte has a strong matcha flavor and is honestly perfect. It's balanced and not too sweet. We got more goodies to go that well indulge in tomorrow.

"Decided to drop in on our day trip to Georgetown. I opted for a matcha latte and you can have a customized photo latte art, so I submitted a dandelion design. They forgot to put it on at first, but quickly fixed their mistake. My drink was enjoyable and pastries looked good as well. Will have to try them next time!"
"D.C. is definitely known for the jumbo slice, half-smoke, and wings with mumbo sauce. However, I've heard peeps complain about the lack of a decent taco joint in these parts. Are you kidding me? Apparently these naysayers don't know about Super Tacos & Bakery in Adams Morgan!Listen, don't sleep on this hole in the wall. I'm no taco aficionado, but Super Tacos can dish out a damn good taco. Talk about a fiesta for the taste buds. I always get the carnitas tacos...think tender, flavorful pork stuffed inside of a pillowy taco shell. FYI: They always add tasty toppings (small containers of pico de gallo, hot sauce, and pickled red onions) to my order. Now, let's talk about the refried beans. OMG! What a perfect side! Tastes like a concoction of homemade yum for the tum. No straight out of the can tomfoolery here. These refried beans are the real deal!Special mention: The menu is EXTENSIVE! There are lots of options to choose from...burritos, quesadillas, chimichangas, tortas (sandwiches), and sooo much more. For those who have a sweet tooth, there are dessert slices on deck. Need a cake for a special occasion? Look no further than Super Tacos & Bakery.Limited indoor and outdoor seating. You can do takeout or delivery. Personally, I prefer takeout. Extremely friendly and efficient customer service!"
"We had Le Caprice cater our breakfast!!!! LISTEN!!! The attention to detail was beyond my expectations. The breakfast sandwiches were HUGE!!! We all loved the sandwiches. The pastries were tasty and they are vegetarian and vegan options!!! I want to thank you for such a wonderful breakfast!!!!! You will get your monies worth!!!!!!"
"Gladis and her Latino staff are always friendly and helpful. The location is the nook of the city where it's blended well with original Washingtonians and newcomers. The food and deserts are usually fresh and tasty. The prices are reasonable as well. Visit when you can! - TC of DC"
"OMG! I can't remember the last time I've been this WOW'ed by croissants in the US! A bakery that's only open 4 days a week for 4.5 hours made me want to try Nino's even more during my stay in DC. Not really a place you can sit down inside to enjoy the croissants, although there were a few tables outside. Thankfully there were only a few people waiting for their croissants in front of me. I was able to try the pistachio croissant as well as"
"The service was amazing. Everyone was very kind and joyful. The coffee (standard oat milk latte) was good, and the baked goods were fantastic. I had the chocolate croissant and the ham and cheese croissant. The pastry was flaky, tender, moist, and had good flavor. The ham and cheese was really great, too. I would have liked a bit more chocolate in the chocolate croissant, but otherwise really nice.I will absolutely be back!"
"Oh. My. God. The saltenas are incredible. My taste buds were gifted with the savory stews that filled the inside of the slightly sweet dough. The beef and chicken are both delicious, I have a slight preference for the chicken. The tucumana saltena is soooooo good. Instead of baked it is deep fried. Oh man. Wow. I think they might be fried to order so you'll have to wait an extra 5-10 minutes. I will be back to try the rest of their food!"
"My favorite middle eastern bakery in this area!! Sometimes we go overboard and order toooo much, but we'll make it last the week, if we can control ourselves.Their kunafa is the best in town. Seriously. And you'll be lucky if you get a fresh piece! It's still delicious to go. We also always get a few pieces of the basbousa. It's perfect - soft, sweet but not too much, and a good size. Love love love love jenin's. We come at least once a month for our fix"
"This is a small shop with indoor and outdoor seating available. Since there were so many options of pastries to pick from due to all the flavor combinations. The person who helped me was super helpful and patient as I tried to figure out what to get.I ended up getting the yuzu mousse with passion fruit and guava, sakura shortbread cookies, and the matcha passion coconut tart. The yuzu mousse was delectable! I have to admit, I was worried at first with all the flavors in it, but it was enjoyable. Each layer of the tart had a distinct flavor, and when combined it was basically a medley in my mouth. It is very strong with a citrus flavor, but with a cup of hot tea it was the perfect combo for me.I've never had Sakura shortbread cookies, I see them all the time on baking vlogs but never seen them in this area so I was excited to see *real* Sakuras (cherry blossoms) as opposed to cherries. The shortbread was crispy and buttery, while the Sakura flower was salty due to the preservation process. It was a very unique flavor, but enjoyable! While the matcha passion coconut tart was very matcha forward, as it was used to make the tart shell and a light dusting on top. The passionfruit curd was a nice distinct flavor that comes through and everything mellowed out with the coconut cream. I would say that overall, everything was delicious and although a bit pricey, was well worth it. I really like the way the flavors are played around in the food and will need to try out the rest."
"D Light continues to produce high quality baked goods. I always make a point to drop by and see what's in the display case when I'm in Adams Morgan. Recently, I enjoyed a very impressive ham and cheese croissant. This isn't an easy Viennoiserie pastry to pull off, so, kudos on that. The staff is humble and friendly--never any pretentious attitudes. This cheery spot has gained quite a following.Since opening in 2022, I've become an unabashed fan."
"I'm obsessed. Great neighborhood spot. So clean. Love seeing the staff hard at work on prepping pastries. Everything is delicious and affordable!"
"Our group of 10 people went there for brunch to celebrate a birthday. Most of us ordered from the brunch choices. Items included Omelet your way, New Yorker (bagel with smoked salmon and a fried egg, Mezze, pot pie, burger and such. Food was good and the outdoor space on the second floor deck was spacious with big umbrellas and plantings. So I would recommend this if you live nearby. One sour note for us though. When reservation was called in, our friend specifically mentioned it was for a birthday celebration and whether we can bring a cake. She was told Yes. We got there with the cake and the staff put it in the fridge for us and did not mention anything. At the end of the meal, the owner came to our table and sternly declared: No Outside Food is allowed. We understand. But the restaurant staff made a mistake and told our group otherwise. We did not make a fuss but all of us felt that we were being chastised because of the owner's tone of voice! Our original desire to buy pastries was dashed. Paid our bill, took our cake and left."
"Really enjoyed trying Azerbaijani food for Valentine's Day. The food was really flavorful, great pastries, and dumplings!"
"We are so glad to see this cafe do well in our neighborhood. I believe in cafes in every neighborhood. We walk our dog every morning and grab hot chocolate and coffee when we walk by this place. They have recently redid their interiors. Looks much spacious now and very welcoming. With my drinks, I often get their samosa or spinach puffs. It's so good. For lunch, my go to is their Ethiopian combo. They have 5 different veggies and recently added meat as well. Absolutely delicious! Depending on how busy they are, expect to wait for the Ethiopian entree. Worth it."
"I discovered The Ministry in 2023 when I was in DC following a nail appointment. Went in to get a matcha latte and noticed a rather larger than your regular size oatmeal cookie. It was divine. The cookie was soft, not too sweet and so delicious. The owner always present each time I visit. She is personable and engaging. And that permeates to the staff who also get an A+ in exceptional customer service. The ambiance is smart however welcoming with cultural elements that bring a warmth to the place. The menu also includes coffee, tea, various desserts and food items.I would highly recommend this spot when in DC, I know I am addicted to the oatmeal cookies and stop by when in town."
"We are fortunate to have Sweet Crimes not far from our home which is east of the river. One member of our household cannot eat gluten. It is amazing to know every single item is safe to eat. These are a few of our favorites:- chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting- mini quiche- donuts (personally, I do not even like donuts and love these cake-style donuts)- chocolate babka- for holidays we have ordered the star bread -- YUM!The staff are always very nice. The online ordering system can be a tad complicated and it is always good to check your order before you leave. They get very hectic around holidays. We are grateful to have this delicious and lovely business nearby. * If you are visiting from out of town and need a gluten free / celiac safe spot for breakfast or lunch, Sweet Crimes is ideal. We typically get the sweets but they also have nice sandwiches and coffee drinks. There is a patio out back. Near the Potomac Ave metro stop and on the M6, 32, and 36 bus lines."
"Came for lunch and it was great! All the food taste so REAL! And the benefits are that it's super healthy. The service was great. The ambiance was great.Would 100% recommend!"
"I visited my friend during lunch, who works upstairs.I had already ate my lunch but didn't want to sit there awkwardly so she recommended the bakery downstairs.I got a blueberry muffin, and it was really good. I'm a picky muffin eater so I wasn't expecting much. The sugar crust was crunchy and sweet, paired well with the muffin cake. The cupcake was filled with a lot of blueberries, they definitely do not skimp out!I noticed they had a lot of different dessert options and also serve coffee/lattes along with lunch items. If and when I visit my friend again, I'll have to visit Sweetbites as well."
"The food here is really good. I got the chickpea and fava plate and it came with pita bread, which was fluffy and super delicious. Some of the best pita I've had. There was some chili oil in the chickpeas that made it quite tasty. 10/10 would order again. It was $12, and the portion was smallish, so I'd maybe get a pastry with it next time. There is quite a lot of indoor seating so you can probably find a place to sit as long as it's not a super busy time. It's got a generally busy atmosphere though. Otherwise there is outdoor seating as well as a park across the street with benches."
"Excellent dining options and service.Clean place and would come back again for sure!!Great customer service to accommodate dietary restrictions. (Vegan and GF)"
"Sidekick Bakery is located inside of Ted's Bulletin in Ballston. They serve hot and iced beverages, frozen treats (including snowdays and soft serve filled croissants), sweets including cakes, cinnamon toast crunch banana bread, cookies, croissants, danishes, millionaire bar, muffins, sk cosmic brownie, Ted's tarts, and savory items including slider breakfast sandwiches, croissant sandwiches, and toasts. I was sad they were sold out of Apple Danish. I enjoyed a Cherry Blossom and White Chocolate Cookie. I plan to return to try their other items."
"My office coffee/breakfast crew wanted to switch up our routine. It was a bit of a walk, but I welcomed the change of scenery. Gregory's is beautifully decorated and has a good amount of seating. It was a little busy but everyone's orders came out fairly quickly. I got a vanilla latte and it was good. Service was good. I would visit again but not in a hurry."
"Best bakery in area. The pies are the bes! And the pastries a most try when in the area!"
