"2.09.2025- We had a 9:30am rezzie on Super Bowl Sunday. Reservations are advisable since folks know about this lively little gem in Del Ray. We tried dropping in before & went elsewhere thanks to the extended wait time. Now let's get into it!We started with the seafood dip. A nice smokey dip with crab, shrimp, spinach & cheddar. They served it with griddled buttery bread. For mains, we ordered the shrimp & grits and cornflake crusted French toast & chicken. The shrimp & grits andouille sausage gravy can be subbed for a chicken sausage gravy. The French toast & chicken / waffles are both served with a crispy chicken breast . We also ordered a masa pancake, eggs w/ cheese, & bacon for nephew. The presentation, texture, & flavors were on point. This family friendly spot has a lot of interesting menu items including healthy options that I can't wait to try. I'll definitely return some time soon."
"Had a really excellent experience here traveling with my family. The vibe was warm and pleasant. There were lots of regulars enjoying their breakfast and we were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated after a minimal wait despite the place being hopping. Kids had nicely executed pancake plates - I would recommend the egg and chorizo scramble and the chipped beef gravy. Everything was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely recommend!"

"I had lunch at Parkway Deli yesterday, and as always, it was a fantastic experience! I've eaten here many times, but this is my first time posting a review. I ordered the Pastrami Delight sandwich, and it truly lived up to its name. The pastrami was bursting with flavor, with just the right amount of crispy charred bits. The cheese was perfectly melted, and the coleslaw added the perfect crunch to every bite. I'd add a pic, but I was so hungry I didn't stop to take one!I paired it with goodies from the famous pickle bar--dill pickles, sauerkraut, and banana peppers--which made the meal even better. My server was friendly and attentive, and my food arrived quickly, which I really appreciated. On my way out, I couldn't resist picking up a tub of whitefish and a tub of chopped liver to snack on later--both were absolutely delicious. If you're ever in Silver Spring or nearby, Parkway Deli is a must-visit. The food, service, and atmosphere are consistently top-notch. You won't be disappointed!"
"Adas is right on the riverfront and have both indoor and outdoor seating. When I went it was such a warm and beautiful day so seating outside required a wait. Inside the seating was very close, only a feet or so from people so I opted to sit at the bar for more privacy. The menu had several delicious choices for both food and drink and our bartender was sweet and checked in often. The market fish sandwich served mahi-mahi. It was a bit messy with a lemon aïoli, but very yummy! The thick cut fries were the perfect combination of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! The wine and cocktails were well crafted and yummy! I'd come back here anytime!"
"We took advantage of the restaurant week dinner. She had the scallops in a coconut lime sauce, and enjoyed them. I had the octopus which had a perfect texture. Not too firm or rubbery which happens when they are overcooked. For entrees we shared a NY strip steak and the halibut. Portion size on both entrées was small, but both dishes were otherwise flawless. The steak had parsnip purée, Swiss chard , mushrooms, all in a pepper reduction. The fish had firm wheat berries, grilled leaks and fennel. We had a pear tart for dessert. It had poached pear which I found hard to taste, and almond tart that was nice. It was the least successful item we tried. Our other dessert was chocolate mousse that was very well done with a small amount of raspberry custard. The other components didn't contribute much.Despite small portions, the meal in its entirety was ample. Our room was well appointed. Service was excellent. 1789 will reward you with a first class dining experience."
"I had read a few reviews about this place and decided to come for dinner... As we walked in, there was a guy lounging on a chair right at the entrance, who asked us if we were looking to have dinner...we said Yes. He grabbed a couple of menus and showed us to a table....the odd thing is that he was not standing up waiting to greet people like most hosts would....but lounging....LOL.Luis was our server and he was very nice and attentive. We got some IPAs (delish) and some really good food...I got the salmon and my husband got the buttermilk fried chicken plate. Both were really well done and deliciously prepared. The portions were adequate..not huge...but not small either...Great place with a nice cozy vibe....located in an old brick and stone buidling..."
"Night Cap with a friend. December Monday night. The bar area was kind of cold.I had the Blood Orange Margarita: Milagro Silver tequila, Solerno Blood Orange liqueur, Chile Ancho Reyes, and house made sour mix - Short glass- Strong- Tasty- Has a little bite aftertaste due to the Chile ancho reyes"
"Food: 5/5 Service/cleanliness: 3/5 The whole menu is online via scanning a QR code. There's a variety of mussels but when we asked our server for recommendations/her thoughts, she wasn't very nice or helpful. She was a bit rude and just said all of the choices are good. All of the appetizers we ordered were good. The onion rings are probably the best I've ever had. It had a light batter and was crunchy. Same for the calamari. The plates were smelly - it smelled like it was wiped with a dirty kitchen rag. St. Arnold mussels & L'Alsacienne: The St. Arnold was better. It was creamier and had richer flavors. Both were overall good though so you can't go wrong with either choice. We added linguine and it was very filling. I didn't even have space for the bread/fries it came with."
"Started off Sunday Funday with brunch here @3. Got seated 20 mins early. We sat in the middle section of the restaurant. Our table was wobbly but an employee came thru and helped to remedy the situationI got the Blackened Salmon Fillet & Eggs $25.95: Fresh pan-seared salmon, filleted daily, two eggs any style, home friesThis entree meal was delicious, filling and tastyFriend got the Organic stone-ground, 3 cheese grits, in a saffron white wine broth with Blackened Salmon$25.95. He said this was great. AND The GRITS were soooo good! I wish I got grits on the side :)We also opted for the Bottomless Mimosas, $30.00 each. For each flavor, the mimosas came in a carafe. The OJ and Peach flavor were the best to meA Live DJ started playing around 4p which was a lot of fun. Music was also playing before the DJ - good music!Glad we ended up coming here to brunch!"
"I stopped by yesterday night with some friends for dinner. We were drawn as one of us is a big whiskey fan. The second we walked in the restaurant we were all impressed- it's a beautiful, cool, sophisticated place and the walls lined with bottles are very impressive. We all loved watching the bartenders slide the ladders around and climb up to the ceiling to get specific bottles. It was a quieter night, but the service was fast and our server was very nice and knowledgeable. Our whiskey loving friend got the house cocktail, a Jack Rose, which was dangerously good. We ordered a variety of dishes, from burgers to the ham and biscuits to a beet salad. The food was fancy and very delicious, but still a good deal for the price. I would love to come back and spend time upstairs, or splash out and take the time to order a tasting flight. Overall we all enjoyed our time at Jack Rose!"
"Came here for an event and the staff was beyond helpful. From helping us coordinate to bartending and giving people recommendations they could not have been more helpful. You are greeted once you enter and have the change to sit at one of their indoor or outside tables if the weather is nice. The tables have servers and if you wanted to just hang at the bar the bartenders are helpful if you want just a beer or to chat.We didn't get food this time, but in the past cannot speak high of their fries and before I changed my dietary needs, their cheeseboards were always there. Would always come back if I am around or catching a show at Howard next door. They also will help and bring food next door if you are at a show. Their weekday happy hours are the best."
"We hadn't been to Rio in a few years and were curious to see the changes, including the deck bar at Copper Canyon Grill. It was a chilly overcast day and the outside bar was closed. Honestly it looked rather basic but maybe when it's open there's a lot more ambiance. We were seated in the restaurant in the year round enclosed patio. The windows were all closed and there were heaters running so it was quite comfortable. We were by the windows overlooking the board walk. It was nice to see people doing their steps, pushing baby carriages and/or walking their dogs. I could be wrong but the menu seemed a little different than last time we'd been there with more lighter choices. There were a number of items that sounded good to me. I started off with a bourbon and ginger ale, Rich ordered an old fashioned. Both drinks were perfect, mine that just the right balance of alcohol and mixer. After our waiter took our entree orders he asked if we had any allergies. I thought that was a very smart policy of the restaurant. I had the crab cake sandwich. I skipped the bun and ate the crab cake alone. As a life long Marylander I've eaten a lot of crab cakes in my life and Copper Canyon's was one of the best I've had. It was full of lump crab meat with little filler. The side dish was a pile of crispy shoe string fries, my favorite style. Rich had fish and chips, the fries were wedge cut. I tasted the fish and the batter was nice and crispy. The restaurant is clean and attractive and the service was very good. All in all a very pleasant meal."

For my birthday, I was treated to brunch at Matt and Tony's!!! What an amazing experience. Everything from the ambiance to the customer service and food was TOP TIER and I can't wait to visit again. We visited on a Monday morning around 11 and were seated immediately. The server(who was also great by the way, I wish l could remember her name) quickly came to our table to get our drink orders. All the craft cocktails sounded delicious from the description on the menu. After a few moments and the decision to try more than one drink during this visit, I started off with the Side Quest and my girlfriend had the Clear intentions. Both drinks, 10/10. A perfect balance of flavors. I mean who knew that Cognac, brandy, cherry, apricot, vanilla and almond would be such a perfect combination. After the first sip, I knew that the Side Quest would be my drink of choice for the day! I did taste my girlfriends Clear intentions and again it was perfection!!For food, I had the Prime Steak and potatoes ( skipped on the eggs because I don't eat them) and Carmen had the Cornflake crusted French Toast and added chicken. Both were cooked to perfection and so flavorful. The chicken and steak were both so well seasoned and juicy. The French Toast was thick and fluffy. Slightly crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside. And the pecans were a nice added touch. My steak and potatoes, CHEFS KISS. The potatoes were so good and the steak and chimmichurri were as well. I can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu. Keep up the amazing work Matt and Tonys!!!

Service is top notched, wait staff friendly and cordial, quick on their feet. Atmosphere is laid back and community friendly. Rami the owner is an absolute delight to meet, first time here at Joe's (Rami's uncle) Cafe. You can tell this place that opened in 2019, offers what others come back time and time again - long line of wait at 9:30am on a Saturday. Rami makes sure that he calls his customers by name, engages them while waiting. Now how's the food? Definitely everything is delicious! I ordered steak and cheese omelet which comes with choice of toast and grits or home fries or hash browns. Very reasonably priced for the portions. Thanks Rami for a wonderful breakfast experience from a former Herndon resident dropping by to visit my old haunt!

Parkway Deli and Restaurant crafts the finest deli food in town. We had a large group meet there over the weekend. They were so friendly and the service was awesome. Our group hadn't seen each other in a while and our waitress was so kind. She had to come back several times before we were ready to order. She stayed so pleasant and got all of our orders correct. I ordered the nova lox platter. It was filled with hand cut nova lox, that was delicious. There was cream cheese, capers, tomatoes, onion, olives, and lettuce. I was in heaven. My friends all ordered omelettes. They loved them. Before, I left I ordered corned beef, turkey, and two kinds of cookies. Everything was perfect. I had sandwiches for days and the cookies passed my granddaughters taste test. They were mouthwatering and delicious. Everything was reasonably priced and it was phenomal. Parkway Deli and restaurant sets the standard for what a deli should be. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

I've had Ada's On The River on my must-visit list for the past four years, and I finally made it happen on my birthday! Even without a reservation, I was able to dine in at either the bar or the counter. Since we were a party of three and there weren't three seats together at the bar, we opted for the counter. To start, I sipped on The Star of Brunch, a delightful mix of New Amsterdam vodka, vanilla, passion fruit, mango, and sparkling wine--bright, fruity, and refreshing. We also shared the Brunch Bread Basket, a beautifully curated selection of an orange pecan sticky bun, Nutella baba, raspberry scone, espresso coffee cake, and a lemon poppy seed muffin--perfect for those who love a little bit of everything. For entrées, Iris enjoyed the Pork Schnitzel, my husband went for the Crab and Avocado Toast, and I indulged in the Maine Lobster Omelette, which was rich, flavorful, and a true treat for a special occasion.Overall, Ada's lived up to my long-standing anticipation with a great atmosphere, delicious food, and a memorable birthday brunch!

As a somewhat regular at the Tombs and having dined at a few of the many Clyde's Restaurants, I can honestly say that my expectations were nowhere near as high as to the level of quality that my friends and I enjoyed tonight at the 1789.In a word it was simply "AMAZING". The service was flawless, there were there when we needed them and mysteriously disappeared when we were set. Sometimes in fine dining the service staff can be hovering over us like Seagulls on the prowl at the Jersey Shore. We took our time to consume three courses and an enjoy a few libations. The dining room is intimate and inviting the fireplace was lit aglow, warm and comforting to sit by.The menu is adventurous but not contrived or so esoteric that we needed to google explanations so that we might navigate our choices. Presentations were elegant and simple with the emphasis on execution. Unlike so many trendy new places around DC seem to be awash in multiple concoctions that involve far too many syllables. The flavors were on point and the kitchen showed a prowess that must only come as a notice that it's all about the taste, the freshness and the seasonality that we find ourselves in. The New Bedford Seared Sea Scallops were delicious, plump and sweet. And the accompanying sauce just perfectly paired with the Scallops. The Escargot garlicky and salty. The only ever so slight misstep was with the Grilled Octopus, a wee tad rubbery possibly didn't poach long or slow enough to tenderize the tentacles before they were finished on the Grill. Our Entrees were all eagerly passed around the table and there was unanimous agreement that all four were perfect. We sampled the Lamb, the Halibut, Duck and the Wagu Short-ribs, whose taste and tenderness took me back to a similar experience 30 years ago at a small French Cafe in Newport. In my Humble opinion this entire experience was undoubtedly the finest meal I've ever been served in our Nations Capital.Reservations are almost always a must but trust me it is indeed worth the wait. Everyone got dessert because we were all part of the Clean Plate Club.Of particular note was the 1789 Pastry Chef's interpretation of Classic Carrot Cake. Reservations are highly recommended and be assured that you will leave with a delicious taste in your mouth and an overwhelming urge to plan your return to the "1789".

We have come here the last 3 years for my grandmothers milestone birthdays. This year she turned 105. The menu here works for everyone in our family perfectly. There family rooms are ideal for our parties. This year we had a smaller close family party so we used the smaller room. Obviously it is cold outside but it was freezing in this room. That was the only downside. The food, the staff and the drinks were all good per usual.

St. Arnold's Mussel Bar is one of my absolute favorite spots in DC. Their happy hour menu is a real treat, offering big pots of mussels for just $19.99, with the option to add fries for an extra $4. I recently tried their mussels with linguini, spinach, white wine, and lime sauce, and let me tell you, it was a flavor explosion! The mussels were cooked to perfection, and the sauce was so deliciously tangy and savory,The portion size was quite generous, and the addition of the fries made it a really satisfying meal. I, also, ordered their pretzel bites and calamari for appetizers and ended the delicious meal with a rich creme brûlée! The overall atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the service is great. Highly recommend! You absolutely have to check out St. Arnold's Mussel Bar--it's a real hidden gem in the DC neighborhood nearby DuPont Circle!

"This is a 10/10 restaurant. Service, food, drinks, location, ambiance is phenomenal. We had the calamari, chicken piccata and pork chops. SO good! Too bad we live in Texas, otherwise I'd be a regular!"
"Saturday night Prime Rib. One of the best prime ribs I've had, comes with baked potato, veggie (or side of your choice-onion rings), and a salad for under $25. Super good! Got mine Togo but looks like a nice friendly place to eat even if you're alone."
"During one of my transitional phases (relocating, not *that* sort of transitioning), I had been coming here every once in a while when Cafe Kindred was still relatively new and owners Gary and Jen were still doing almost all of the work!I'm rarely in the area now, only to visit family. I've noticed how busy it's become when driving by, but haven't stopped in for years until today. Unfortunately Gary wasn't in; I miss my chats with him, but it still felt nostalgic and very much like I remember it. Their current staff is great, and manager Amber is awesome!Great neighborhood spot. And big "lol" to all the butt-hurt naysayers who think they're the main character. Welcome to NoVa."
"Will I come back here? ABSOLUTELYFirst off...a happy hour? On a Saturday? From 3:30-6:30? The oysters were amazing, the crab cake sliders and the buffalo chicken sliders were the perfect touch. Unfortunately they didn't make the photo because they were gone in 2 seconds. The beer selection is top tier and the service was good. My only wish is that they opened the patio coming in because the view would've been a little better instead of the patio on the side but didn't stop our grub on at all."
"We return to Clare & Don's repeatedly - mostly because of all the vegetarian options, but also because there are meat, fish, and gluten-free options, making it a great place to meet friends of all eating preferences. The atmosphere is beachy, they add more items on the walls over the years, and they play beachy music too. They have live bands both on their outdoor stage and indoors, usually in the evening. They are also good for sports fans - they have a few screens showing whatever sports are in season. Service is very good for a casual place. I have seen some of the same staff there for years, which I think is a good sign. It does have some grit to it, it's not highly polished, and the bathrooms could use an upgrade. But it is a reliable eating and drinking establishment, we have never had a bad time."
"Solid little bar in Columbia Heights! The upstairs roof has tables to hang at and some seating at the bar. It's definitely tight though and not the spot for more than 6ish people. In the winter they put heaters up there for you to stay warm. The beers are on the cheaper side & they have some solid snack food. Can never go wrong with their fries. All in all a good spot to catch up with friends! Bathrooms are gender neutral (single stall). LGBTQ friendly. There is a stair to enter the bar initially and then the roof has a ton of stairs and is tight for folks with limited mobility."
"City Kitchen is a nice casual place to grab dinner. It feels comfortable inside, with a bar to the left with additional seating at tables - and booths on the right side for non-bar dining. The food:Fried artichokes - looked interesting. They were crispy and a bit salty at the initial few bites. With the sauce, it was better. A good app. Pork chop - again, my first couple bites were a bit salty but the rest was flavorful, cooked perfectly juicy, and I really liked the favor the char gave it. The potatoes were ok and so were the veggies, but they were both unremarkable. Both could have used some seasoning so I just put pepper on them. The cheesecake was just ok and my least fave item of the night which is rare for me because I love desserts. All in all, I'd come back if I was in the area and wanted a hearty, casual meal."
"I stopped by a couple weeks ago on a Thursday during lunch with a friend. I liked that we could order on screens, but it would have been nice if we could look at a menu before ordering. I had to pull it up on my phone. After ordering, the service seemed pretty hectic. I went inside to pick up my order, and the employees sent me to two different places to get it. I also got an automated text before the food was actually ready, so I had to wait inside. The food was amazing, though! I had a Buffalo Blue grilled cheese and I loved the crispy bread and great flavors! This is a fun place to stop if you're a grilled cheese fan or are coming by with a friend."
"Nestled on Georgetown's quaint Prospect Street just off bustling M Street, Peacock Cafe stands out in the neighborhood's competitive dining scene with a legacy that spans over three decades. My party of five made a reservation for 6:30 pm, and we were glad we did - the cafe was packed, with diners filling both the lively interior and expansive outdoor patio. Given the mild October evening, we didn't mind sitting outside; in fact, it was a nice escape from the bustling energy inside. The cafe's exterior is adorned with a classic cobalt blue awning and boasts wicker chairs and marble-topped tables on the patio, while the interior balances a sophisticated restaurant vibe with a cozy bar atmosphere, ambient lighting, and booths ideal for any type of occasion. The menu is impressively varied, featuring everything from traditional appetizers, soups, and salads to burgers, large-format entrées, and even a few Middle Eastern-inspired dishes like Qaymeh (a lamb stew) and Albaloo Polo (roasted half chicken). Our server was attentive and considerate, quickly taking our order before a large party inside. Each table receives complimentary warm rolls with butter to start - they're soft and ciabatta-like, making for a delightful opener. The portion sizes at Peacock Cafe are generous, and the flavors shine. One of my friends ordered the Seafood Jambalaya ($29.95), a vibrant dish with mussels, shrimp, cod, salmon, and saffron-infused basmati rice, all enveloped in a rich tomato sauce. Another friend enjoyed the Roasted Scottish Salmon ($29.95), paired with grilled sweet potato, asparagus, and salsa verde; the salmon was perfectly cooked and generously portioned, while the vegetables were nicely roasted and flavorful. Another standout was the Crab and Pesto Risotto ($29.95), served with lump blue crab and Parmesan. Though the crab blended into the creamy risotto, the flavors were nuanced and balanced, with the risotto cooked to a perfect, slightly creamy consistency. One of the most popular dishes, the Rigatoni Pasta with Chicken ($21.95), features al-dente rigatoni in a rose sauce of slow-braised tomatoes, light cream, and basil. The sauce had a balanced richness with a touch of acidity, and the chicken was moist and well-portioned - a must-try if you're craving comfort food. I opted for the Grilled Steak Salad ($25.95), which came with mixed greens, asparagus, Gorgonzola cheese, and balsamic vinaigrette. They happily accommodated my request for the steak to be cooked medium-rare, and the portion (around 4-6 oz of tender sirloin) was ideal, with a tender bite. The salad's crisp greens and asparagus paired well with the tangy vinaigrette, and the goat cheese added a pleasant, creamy contrast.Overall, Peacock Cafe is an excellent option for a reliable, flavorful dinner in Georgetown. The food is deliciously satisfying, portions are generous, and the ambiance exudes Georgetown charm, making it perfect for upscale dinners with family, date nights, or a night out with friends. With warm service and a comfortable atmosphere, this spot has rightly earned its reputation as a classic in the area!"
"The skinny marg is ok but the sliders are not bad at all. It's like a local "Cheers" - some folks are walking in and the bartenders know their names/drinks lol"
"Made dinner reservations for 2 on a Saturday at 6pm. Upon arrival I was surprised that the restaurant was pretty empty, as I was expecting the need for reservations. When I mentioned that to the hostess, she said it would get busier soon. It did get busier but not where every table was occupied. But reservations are still a good idea.I tried one of the craft cocktails, the Southern Sky. I took a video of it being presented. It was fun but not as much smoke as you would think. I was also surprised that I didn't get a buzz from it. It was pretty good though. The cornbread bites were delicious! I was happy to see them because I didn't see cornbread on the menu and was disappointed at first. For my entree I ordered the crab cakes. The server wanted to call out that they were smoked so to not expect Maryland crab cakes. But once they arrived, I honestly wouldn't have known there was a difference. They were delicious and tasted like I would expect a crab cake to taste. Opted for mac & cheese instead of fries for a side which was a smart decision because it was just how I like it: baked on top but cheesy inside. So good! Kept the other side of Brussels sprouts (which were a bit too charred and greasy for my liking, but still good).Ordered a blondie for dessert. It underwhelmed me and needed more ice cream, so I didn't finish it.This is a cute but small spot, playing country music, and with some fun decor (see the video of the different types of wood). It's in a great location with plenty of parking options (street and garage). A solid spot for food and drinks."
"I specifically set out to try BB&G Happy Hour & made it here with 5 mins to spare.Part of a boutique style hotel, the retro style bar area offers a colorful bar & red leather booths.Tiffany, our Bartender was generous with her service & casual social engagement. Standard HH menu offering food & drinks under $8 seven days a week, 4P-7P.Nestled in the Dupont neighborhood with street parking that's free on the weekends after 6P. To note, the restaurant has a two story lounge with an open air patio. A couple of blocks from the Farragut North Metro Station - Red Line. I'll definitely make my way back here, especially to visit the Sky Bar."
"Many thanks to the amazing staff for their efficient and professional handling of our tour group of 92 patrons on Thursday night (May 23, 2024)! Led expertly by manager Sam, their team of servers Caleb and Lindy, along with their support staff of food runners Jose, Josue, Miguel, had all of our guest served their pre-ordered entrees in just 15 minutes during a busy dinner time! It's restaurants like these that make large tour group sit-down dinners possible during the hectic Spring tour season within the DC Metro area. Many thanks from my colleague Danielle and I, along with the entire tour company!"
"Was in Alexandria running errands waiting for one of the big box stores to open and decided to have breakfast. Parking lot was small but we had arrived fairly early on a Sunday morning so we were able to snag a spot. We were greeted and seated right away. We placed our order and it came out rather quick. I got the country fried steak and eggs breakfast; husband got the corned beef hash and eggs and we both opted for home fries tho fruit and grits were options. The country fried steak breakfast was good. The gravy had a great flavor and the breading for the chicken wasn't your typical breaded batter; it was a tempura batter. This was the first time I had it prepared that way and I wasn't mad at it tho I do prefer the traditional method. My home fries were also not made with your usual russet potato; they were made with red potatoes..again not what I was expecting. Some of them were slightly undercooked and lacked seasoning. My husband's potatoes in contrast were the total opposite. His potatoes were cooked thoroughly and had great flavor. He tasted my potatoes and exclaimed how they were nothing like his. Same exact dish, two very different executions. I concluded that the corned beef hash that sat on his potatoes must have contributed to the flavor. My eggs were cooked exactly how I asked, scrambled soft. Not many places get them right for me, but they were perfect! We also ordered an entree of french toast to share and it was ok. I honestly wanted pancakes but unless you get the executive breakfast platter, or order a single pancake for nearly five bucks, pancakes aren't offered. As for the French toast, I should have opted for this as a side (or not at all). But, unfortunately, unless you get the full size, you don't get the berries and whipped cream that comes with a full size serving (waitress made that very clear) and it needs those accompaniments to give it umph. Otherwise it is just deep fried bread and I feel like the bread was lacking. It wasn't challah or brioche even..it appeared to be plain white bread and whatever custard they used didn't appear to include any sweet nor spicy notes like cinnamon or nutmeg, because again, the syrup, whipped cream and berries gave the french toast its flavor. To have this as a side, you'd just be tasting deep fried toast with syrup (if that's what you like on your french toast). I actually would skip on getting this altogether honestly. All in all I would come back to try other dishes. The restaurant vibes were cool and the lighting was perfect; not too bright, not too dim. The service was okay as well, but not extraordinary. Wait staff were pleasant enough."
"We came here on vacation from Florida to DC and checked out Washington's Mt. Vernon Estate and then had dinner here right after. It was really cool. The atmosphere was great, loved the colonial feel of this place and very quick service. We had the Jamabalya and Pot Pie and they were both delectable. Very good food and service! Cute place to go to right after the trip to the estate"
"Was out in VA today for a family sporting event and decided to try this restaurant for dinner.1st and foremost, customer service was A1! So that was an immediate plus. Everyone we came in contact with was very pleasant. Next the food was also top tier. I had the salmon with potatoes and broccolini. My son had the cheeseburger with fries. My mom had the crab cake with coleslaw and fries, I will say the crab cake was on the smaller side but it was enough for my mother. My dad had the half rack of ribs with coleslaw and fries. Everyone gave a 10/10 including the drinks (margarita, daiquiri and expresso martini). Definitely a nice meal to end my long day. There is plenty of parking. Ambiance is nice, can be for a nice date night meal, family, or happy hour. They do bring out bread with butter before your meal, definitely a nice perk and TASTY! They do have happy hour everyday and NFL Sunday happy hour 1-7 during football season. Kids menu has enough options even for a picky eater (example; Mac n cheese, hamburger, chicken tenders)Definitely recommend if you're in the area!"
"Yassssss Table Talk! Such a solid location to doordash from! The food is packaged well and always so tasty. I will try something different next time but I just love that the build your own omelette is big enough to save some for the next day."
"BEST CHICKEN WINGS I'VE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. Seriously, this place is the BEST! They don't even have a restaurant. It's a carryout only place and SUPER casual. You place your order at the front, specifying the type of chicken, with bones or boneless, and the dipping sauce.I ordered the spicy garlic wings (10 of them), while my fiancé ordered the honey bbq (10 of them as well). We both ordered ranch sauce with it, but they honestly don't even need sauce - they're ambrosial on their own!HOLY COW (or chicken, rather). Each one of those chicken wings were absolutely divine. I ate every single last one, despite being very full! The spicy garlic was absolutely perfect. This place is conveniently located on Wisconsin Ave in Georgetown and I am jealous of everyone living near there. If I lived close by, I'd be getting Wingo's to go at least twice a week!! You place your order and either wait outside on a bench or you can walk around (generally takes around 10-15 minutes for your food to be ready). We opted to walk to a bookstore nearby while we waited.Oh. My. God. The best wings ever. I'm not even kidding. This place is extraordinary. Heaven!"
"Nostalgia! Came here for dinner with my better half and things look the same! I used to come to Jaspers many moons ago, 25 years to be exact! Yup, telling my age! Food is okay. Neighborhood bar/grill vibe! Pours at the bar are FANTASTIC, hence the 4 stars! I had one drink and I was DONE. One and done here so do the math on that, score! Crab egg rolls are on the menu....they are good.I had the salmon and shrimp, it was decent. Overall, fair! 3 stars for food! Service, 5 stars! Everyone was nice! 5 stars for the bar.... Overall 4 stars from this old frequent customer."
"This is definitely a long time favorite. I grew up near the area so we used to go there often growing up. It's a nostalgic place. They still have the big chocolate chip cookies we'd get as kids and they still look and taste the same as I remember. We usually get the french toast for breakfast since it's one of the best items on the menu. It's still the best french toast I've ever had from any place. They make the bread in-house so they cut them as huge slices. It melts in your mouth. So good. We also got the cheese danish which was gigantic but very tasty. It was sweet but not too sweet. It's usually really packed and busy on weekends but we went during a time when it's not so busy so we were seated quickly at a booth near the windows which was nice to see outdoors. The server came often to refill our coffees which we appreciated. You pay the check up at the front when you're done. Also at the front there's a fridge/case with cakes and desserts. The diner is pretty big with tables in the middle and booths on the ends. There's parking in the back and a bit on the side street."
"Where do you go for a fantastic and scrumptious meal, great service, amazing portions, a beautiful and comfortable setting, that genuine and home Greek hospitality and love 258 miles south of NYC ? It's the gorgeous Amphora Diner in Herndon, Virginia. The entrance is so nice. There is a warmth that hits you the second you enter. The greeting from the hostess and not one but three different wait staff was very cordial. The presentation of the menu booklet is just stunning. It is classy. I am so used to the old, long plastic 8 by 14 pages. My buddy Gerry opted for the Caribbean salad with grilled chicken added and I ordered the glazed salmon salad with this wonderful citrus dressing. Both were so fresh, bursting with flavor; the fresh mango on the Caribbean salad was simply outstanding. The salmon was grilled perfectly and the chick peas added a nice taste to the salad. The hot tea was served in this beautiful flask( the hot water that is) and our great server Alan brought me two tea bags to start with and replenished the hot water pronto. He was just great - friendly, cool, funny and on the ball. The breakfast items also looked very appetizing. I had heard a lot about their stellar bakery. Next time! The owner Steve made it a point to come by and say hello and check up on us. Amphora Diner is open daily from 7 am to midnight and their bakery is also in Herndon about 2 miles away on Sunset Park Drive. This was a fantastic meal and experience ."
"It is Ground Hog Day. Having some drinks in this gin mill. If u like to enjoy an adult beverage after 9pm. Come on down. Not for the faint of heart. Music chilling. I have to say for all the cool cats; come n chill brothers n sisters."
"Stopped by for a quick drink and snack this evening. Service was slow, but expected. They had limited beer selections and I got an ice tea. Shared the chicken tenders and tots platter with Ragz. The chicken was delicious - just what I would expect from a greasy spoon bar. The tots were super yummy too, very crispy and light. Came with ranch and we asked for buffalo sauce on the side. The bar has a cool vibe and a lot of the patrons seemed locals and request visitors. I think I might come back again to check out their drinks and other menu items."
