I went here for a relaxing lunch after spending many stressful, unproductive, expensive hours at a doctor's appointment. I wanted a place where I could get a lunch + latte. I could also do some light book/gift shopping. I parked in the garage. The service was very disappointing. First, the waitress rushed me and was walking away while I was telling her what I wanted. I asked her a question about one of the lattes and she said no. However, after taking more time to review the full menu, website, and past experience from dining at at least 4 of their restaurants, I confirmed that the answer was yes and she didn't know and/or didn't care. After ordering when she snatched my menu, I had to fight a little to get it back. Then she NEVER came back to my table. I kept the menu to order something else but did not have a chance to order or speak to a waitress again (her or anyone). My waitress was in another room folding napkins. Although I could see her through the doors with glass panels, she did not look up from her folding long for me to wave her down. All the other waitresses I saw were regularly checking on their customers but this lady looked like she was on her lunch break - maybe she was but no one told me. Anyways, after 25 minutes, a food runner brought out my food and ran away (didn't have a chance to ask him for anything). I started to eat and saw a strand of straight hair in my salad - I don't have straight hair and my hair was covered. As my waitress was still sitting in the other room and not checking for me at all, I ended up spending too much time with the hairy salad, seeing if someone else could help get her attention. I also wanted ketchup and water but never got an opportunity to ask for it. Finally I went up to the hostess/front desk as it is closer to where I was sitting than the room where my waitress was reclining and told them about the hair. The hostess summoned my waitress but they took the food away and adjusted charges before the waitress made it over to my area. At that time, the waitress had my bill set up to give a $3 tip for one $6 drink. I reduced the tip slightly but I paid more than she deserved. In summary, I wish I had stayed home and made my own hot drink and hairless salad. Even Starbucks would have been significantly less than $10 per drink. I will still go to other Busboys but will be skipping this location for a while. Also, they had the news on the entire time - which I make a point to avoid and it was jarring to hear all the horrible things going on in the world while sitting there being treated disrespectfully. I was the only black person on that side of the restaurant and I was the only one being treated that way and only one who was served inedible food. Together with medical issues, a horrible doctors appointment that ended with hours on the phone with the infamous UnitedHealthcare, I needed some therapeutic tools to cope with this unfortunate restaurant visit - I left there very hungry and angry and sad. Thankfully, I am plugged into great mental health resources, but I don't know how other people are getting through these things.
